Talnin smiles as he sees the Goblins realise that they cannot keep up and that their pursuit has lost momentum - a smile that abruptly vanishes as he sees their leader attempt a final attack.
Talnin reacts as quickly as possible, attempting to shield Eavath's griffin once more with his defensive spell.
Caught quite literally between a rock and a hard place, Talnin decides to urge the griffins further into the mountains, not willing to give the Akki another chance at shooting him down.
OOC:
Talnin casts Mending Hands on Eavath once more.
Talnin desperately tries to cast in the middle of a frantic griffin flight. Using the same defensive spell that served him well back in the cave, he attempts to protect the griffin carrying Eavath from the Akkis' attack.
"Hold on tight!" Talnin yells at Eavath as a precaution.
Although things are moving fast, Talnin attempts to look in his immediate surroundings, seeing if there's any place he can lose the Akki without drawing them nearer to the bandits' camp.
I wish to cast Mending Hands on the Griffin targeted by the Hanabi Blast.
I'm guessing that this is like summoning the Griffins we're on, outside 'normal' combat rules and that I don't need to go through the motions of talking about tapping lands and other details of a game turn, right?
OOC:
THE Akki mage? I wasn't aware they had one - is it the leader?
It's Eavath on the griffin without the captured Akki :P. The captured Akki is with Uldran and Talnin.
Could we get a description of our surroundings in as much detail as possible? Natural features in the immediate area and maybe stuff we can see further away?
"And so we are! I'll try to lose them outside the cave! Hang on, guys!"
Talnin urges the griffins towards the cave exit, planning to veer them off to one side and keep them low, so as to not draw attention anyone in the area.
Noticing Uldran's large grin whilst holding the captured Akki, Talnin can't help but add: "Um...and no eating!"
OOC: I'm still here, just PMed Anaklusmos to make sure I'm not locking him out of something he might want to do with the course of action I have in mind, and seeing what he thinks about it.
"Great catch, Uldran!" says a wide-eyed Talnin, somewhat surprised that Uldran actually pulled off what he was hoping.
Talnin tucks the Akki between himself and Uldran and gives it a reprimanding look, indicating the half-chewed-through rope.
Talnin doesn't figure goblins to be the caring- family sort, but as the griffins begin to head further to the entrance of the cave, Talnin looks over his shoulder just to see if there is any change in reaction among his pursuers.
OOC: As far as I can tell, we don't have much time to do things because we have goblins hot on our heels. Could you describe the situation in as much detail as possible - how close are the goblins to us (do we have time to stop for even a moment), how far down is this cavern from the surface, is there any path we can take to lose the goblins without straight-up leaving the cave? Is the leader at the forefront of the charge, or further back?
"Gentlemen," Talnin says as he puts his hands on Uldran's and Eavath's shoulders, "I think it's time we used the time-honoured strategy of LEGGING IT GOOD AND PROPER!"
Tugging his allies to come with him, Talnin starts to dash up the tunnel they came from.
As he does so, he frantically looks at the walls of the tunnel, searching for loose rocks, boulders - anything that could be used to stop the horde he knows he and his companions can't take head-on.

Also, are we allowed to cast spells right now?

As they swoop towards the captured Akki, Talnin says to Uldran: "you're a lot stronger than me - see if you can grab him when I make a pass!"
Talnin hops onto the nearest of the winged beasts and makes urgent motions to get Eavath and Uldraan to join him.
"It's a little cramped in here...but it looks like there might be enough room for flight."
Talnin begins to draw the necessary mana to summon two griffins, not entirely confident that a single griffin can support all three of his party.
I shouldn't look over my shoulder.
Talnin looks over his shoulder.
come on, come on, come on!
Tugging his allies to come with him, Talnin starts to dash up the tunnel they came from.

Talnin shifts uncomfortably. "You don't suppose they're going to attack us on sight like that last lot, do you?"
