T1: Goblin 2-0
Tasigur the star because it enters @cc1 and maybe 2/3th turn. MVP.
T2: Death's Shadow Grixis 2-1
The choice of 5 LilianaS and 2 Tasigur made me all fuel I need. 2 times Tasigur's ability.
I've lost one game because I've seen 6 lands in 8 turns.
T3: Vizir Combo 2-0
Easy win g1, with Liliana of the Veil and 2 Goyf onto the battlefield. 7 discard spells are MUST now.
g2 fetch discard, fetch discard + push, 3th goyf + tasigur. GG.
I agree at sticking with 24 lands but i also use a 1x Tireless Tracker lately to draw through the cards. He's been fantastic.
I love this card, but with my 23 lands in Jund I don't think could be a good idea. In addition you should play it on the 4th turn with a fetch, in order to be useful. Maybe it is better with 24 lands.
I wait other lists with 1/2 copies maindeck.
This list results very strong, every turn I can play every missile in my deck. So, 2 tasigur bad with confidant, but with my test I prefer this one instead of a cc4 drop. In addition 5 lilianas: I don't want to split 3 old with 1 new of. So, I decided to play 4 old and 1 new with the sinergy of the deck.
This list ia crazy but this is the most powerful list I've ever try in Jund.
I'm not afraid about the choice of 2 Tasigur. I must see it in the match. Playing only one is redundant, even if there is dark confidant. This one remains onto the battlefield maybe 1-2 turn, no problem. 4 or 6 damages are redundant.
I don't want to play any creatures with cc4 drops, with the new entry of Fatal Push. Huntmaster dies from everything, Olivia doesn't do nothing when it enters but you win when you stap; Kalitas, against a lot of matchups it is useless, and then his body isn't properly enough.
This is only my opinion. I've tested a lot all of these creatures with Fatal Push...and they die everytime.
In addition, Tasigur enters with 1 black mana...3th turn + removal or 4th turn + liliana. even if sometimes I don't use its ability, anyway it is a 4/5 that can die only by terminate and path to exile.
My doubt is only with the flex slot occupied by Collective Brutality. I thought about the 3th KCommand, 2th Maelstrom Pulse, 5th Liliana, the last Hope....but I decided to choose CBrutality for its flexibility.
I guess you're leaning on Crypt Incursion against them?
Krosan Grip is interesting but does the casting cost not hurt you a bit?
Hi mate,
Crypt Incursion is a win condition against Dredge and Living End. You gain some life points and you exile all his creatures. It is the card I always want to see.
About Krosan Grip, it is a tech against Relic of Progenitus, Oblivion Stone, Walking Ballista, Arcbound Ravager, Inkmoth Nexus, Leyline of Sanctity, Leyline of the Void, Blood Moon without counters, Lotus Bloom if he hasn't the combo in hand. I've chosen this card because of its split second and the possibility to destroy an enchantment.
Yesterday I made 4-0 in my local tournment with this crazy list:
The choice of 2 Tasigur is because of Fatal Push now. I've seen some kind of this list in the site Hareruya. Japanese people are crazy, but they are very strong in deckbuilding.
Matchups: Eldrazi Tron, Vizir Combo, Esper Control, Living End.
G1: LIVING END 1-2 (0-1)
GAME 1: he had 0 cards in hand and my place a Goyf and a Bob. The next turn I would have won. He drew the Cascade card and I lost the match.
GAME 2: Crypt Incursion gg.
GAME 3: Thoughtseize + Surgical on Violent Outburst. Other 2 discard spells to 2 other cascade spell. He had only one spell to win the game. With my Confidant I drew 6 cards.....My raging ravine was a 5/5 and the next turn I would have won. He drew the last Cascade..........
G2: AFFINITY 2-0 (1-1)
GAME 1: 2 KCommand....gg
GAME 2: 1 KCommand, Krosan Grip on his Arcbound Ravager and Jund Charm to close the game.
G3: ELDRAZI TRON 2-0 (2-1)
GAME 1: Mind Stone + Reshaper onto the battlefield...KCommand to destroy them. I resolved 2 Smasher with a Liliana and Terminate. Goyf won the game.
GAME 2: Seize, Fulminator, Liliana, Fulminator. He drew anything.
G4: ABZAN COMPANY 2-0 (3-1)
GAME 1: I managed to solve 2 Collected Company on his topdeck...my 2 Goyf and a Scavenging Ooze MVP.
GAME 2: Tidehollow Sculler + Kitchen Finks (with a -1/-1 counter) KCommandED....and then, Pyromaster and Ooze won the game.
G5: ELDRAZI TRON 0-2 (3-2)
GAME 1: Tron pieces on 3th turn. Smasher + Smasher + Karn. GG
GAME 2: 1 Fulminator Mage on his Urza's Mine. He drew the same card and played Smasher. Liliana -2. Another Smasher. Liliana -2. Double Reshaper in his next turn and then, my 2 Goyf in my turn.
So.......All is dust....6 damage and finally another Smasher.
I couldn't do nothing.
About KCommand: In my opinion, the choice to play Jund now is KCommand.
I think that 3 is the perfect number. If I must play less than 2, I play Abzan.
About Lightning Bolt: I feel the lack of 3-4 MD. Sometimes I wanted that Push was a Bolt. Maybe I would have won some games.
About Chandra Pyromaster: I've seen this one only against Company. I don't know if it is a gooid choice or not. But when I played it, I won the game....I don't like the new Chandra in Jund. Maybe I will change this Chandra with Garruk Relentless. What do u think about that?
About 23 lands: When I made the change to cut one land, my deck answered very well. In addition, I recommend 4 Raging Ravine. It is the best finisher in Jund deck.
Other considerations: if I had to change something, or to cut a KCommand, I should test 1 Chandra Pyromaster and 1 Garruk Relentless...I prefer this one instead of Huntmaster. I don't like cc4 creature drops with the new entry of Fatal Push. I think that any planeswalkers make better now.
I've tested Hazoret but I don't like it. It can't do nothing now.
I think that there will be some dredge, living end, death's shadow, vizir combo, affinity.
I switched Chandra, Pyromaster to Hazoret, the Fervent because I didn't try it so far.
I've heard your advice and I think it should be proven. Next Monday I'll write a repo about my tournment.
Do you therefore confirm that Hazoret is a good choice now?
I think that the playset of LotV must be played now.
So, I don't want to cut any LotV in order to LtlH. In addition I don't to play 5 pw types as Liliana.
This is the first reason I play Chandra over LtlH.
I know that LtlH is a cc3 drop, but with grindy matchups it can't do anything instead of 0 Chandra's ability.
About the new Chandra...when I play it onto the battlefield, I must use +1 ability and sometimes I exile some cards that I can play the next turn. The +R+R is useless (sometimes I used it for Raging Ravine). The -3 Ability is a FlameSlash at cc4........wow!.
Duke will change his slot occupied by Chandra, in order to Huntmaster maybe.
So I would like to give to old Chandra another opportunity, because I was very satisfied when I played it.
You should try it =)
I think if you want a PW agaisnt Souls, the new Lili is far superiour to chandra, pyromaster. I would choose lili over chandra any time here. Concerning old chandra vs. new chandra, the new chandra's +1 is much better than old chandras 0 in my opinion, and you just get more options with her. The new chandra can at least deal with slightly bigger creatures with her -3 wheras the old chandra is pretty much only good vs Souls and control/grindy matchups. I think if you want a PW for Souls and go wide then I would play the LtLH over old chandra.
I want to play the fullset of LotV. In addition, I don't want to have another Liliana as Planeswalker. This is the reason I play the old Chandra. There were a lot of games where I had Lilly and Chandra onto the battlefield = GG.
About the new Chandra, I really was disappointed. It is a good PW, but I'm not sure this is its deck. As Duke said.
About the old Chandra, its +1 is very strong and its 0 is a 'card advantage' everyturn.
(With my list the RR cost is not a problem, because I play the fullset of Raging and Cliffs.)
What I was wandering why you run 3 KCommands? The matchups you described do not require KCommand really all that much. You can easily go down to 2 or 1 copy I think.
I play only 4 Goyf, 4 Bob, 3 Ooze. The choice of 3KCommand is the only reason to play JUND again. It is the reason to not switch to Junk. Why I play only 1 or 2? This card makes 2x1 everytime I play it. And in addition, it can catch all creatures destroyed by opponent's fatal push. If I play 1-of, I play Junk.
So, if you only have one free slot for a cc4 drop, what would you play?
I would play a Pw, but I don't know which of these LOL.
Hi mates,
I think that I am only to play Chandra, Pyromaster again. This one is one of the best response against all Lingering Souls. I don't want to play another Liliana (last Hope) instead of the playset of Veil, so I decided to keep 4 LotV and 1 Chandra, Pyromaster as only cc4.
My list looks like:
In my local tournament, I made 3-1. I won against Abzan, Living-End, Dredge and lost from Mirror. I don't know if it is better to cut all Bolts or not. Maybe -2 Bolt +1 Push +1 Dreadbore.
I would have your opinions about Chandra, Pyromaster, because I think that it seems to be over in the forgetfulness. Why none plays it?
So...Kalitas, Huntmaster, Olivia win the game after the our next turn.
None told about Hazoret, The Fervent. I think that it can be a good cc4, in addition to the new entry Fatal Push. But it can be played now, with the current meta?
I haven't tried it yet.
I think that a good jund player makes nice results with the deck now.
I don't know what cc4 drop is better than others now.
Olivia? Huntmaster? Kalitas? Chandra?
In all my local tournaments I was very unsatisfied by Chandra, Torch of Defiance. On the other hand, Chandra Pyromaster saved me a lot of matches.
So, with the new entry "Fatal Push", what cc4 can be the best?
Hi mates,
I'm an italian Jund player for a very short time. Against the ban of my favourite deck, Miracle, I decided to choose Jund in Modern and Legacy. (Sorry for my bad english)
Last friday I arrived 20th at the Main Event Modern on Ovino Tournament in Milan. This was my first tournament in my life with Jund.
My list was:
My choices in sideboard are so funny.
Cypt Incursion: I don't like the choice of 2x Leyline of the Void, because I would put 3x in my sideboard, but this one occupies too much space in the sideboard. So, I decided to split Surgical, Jund Charm, Grafdigger's Cage and Crypt Incursion. I believe that this is a WIN CONDITION against dredge and living end. In a lot of tests, I won a lot of games with this card. But in this tournament I didn't find any 'graveyard decks'.
Krosan Grip: I expected many decks with Leyline of the Void/Leyline of Sanctity, so I put KGrip instead of Ancient Grudge, in addition to his Split Second ability. For example against Walking Ballist, or Ad Nauseam's Lotus, or Batterskull, or Leylines.
Jund Charm: his flexibility is the reason why I decided to put it in the 75. Graveyard hate, the second 'wrath of god' and, in addition, +2+2 against another Tarmogoyf onto the battlefield.
Chandra, Pyromaster: the split between the new and the old was very difficult for me. Torch of Defiance is a fantastic planeswalker, but in the tournament it never satisfied me. Side out in every game. On the other hand, Pyromaster was the MVP in some grind matchups, for example 4c Shadow, against Lingering Souls and against some other Matchups where this one can shine. In my 75, I'll choice the old Chandra. But in the main, I decide to put the 3th Kolaghan's Command instead of the new Chandra.
23 LANDS: I hate all matches where I draw too many lands. So, I decided to reduce the casting cost in order to have all spells in hand. With my list, 4-5 are enough. The others need only for Raging. In all of games I made, I've never had the need to have more lands.
THE TOURNAMENT:
- TURN 1: JUND 1-2 (0-1)
.GAME 1: Dark Confidant and Raging Ravine brought home the game.
.GAME 2: Fulminator, Fulminator, Kolaghan's Command for Fulminator. Lost.
.GAME 3: My initial hand was: 2 Fulminator Mage, 1 new Chandra, 1 old Chandra, 3 Lands. My next 9 draws were 8 lands and no Raging -.-. I've lost with 2 Tarmogoyf onto the battlefield.
- TURN 2: UWR DELVER 2-1 (1-1)
.GAME 1: I lost a won match. My opponent was at topdeck, drew Bedlam Reveler for 2 Path to Exile and Delver of Secrets. I've lost my 2 Tarmogoyfs and dead by Delver and Bedlam.
.GAME 2: All inquisition+thoughtseize, Raging Ravine and Dark Confidant brought home the game.
.GAME 3: A similar game as game 2. Ooze was a 6/6 and my Raging was a 5/5.
- TURN 3: BANT RETREAT 2-0 (2-1)
In GAME 1 I've seen discard spells and all removals I've in my main. In GAME 2 Krosan Grip saved me his combo and Dark Confidant + Raging Ravine + Chandra Pyromaster brought home the game.
-TURN 4: GW TRON 2-1 (3-1)
.GAME 1: Dark Confidant and Raging Ravine onto the battlefield and on the other part Urza's Mine, Urza's Power Plant, Razorverge Tichket and an Oblivion Stone. Inquisition of Kozilek and I see Ugin in his hand. I had Liliana of the Veil, Tarmogoyf, Scavenging Ooze, Lightning Bolt, Kolaghan's Command. So, I decided to put Ooze in order to receive a -2 by Ugin. In the next Turn, -2 of Ugin and I played Bolt on Ugin (it had 2 loyalty). In my turn Kolaghan's Command to destroy Oblivion Stone and Ugin. In the next turn he drew Karn and I lost the game 1.
.GAME 2: Fulminator, Kolaghan, Fulminator. GG.
.GAME 3: Fulminator and 2 Thoughtseize. The Ultimate of Liliana brought home the game.
-TURN 5: AFFINITY 0-2 (3-2)
.GAME 1: I began. Land, Inquisition and he had 2 Mox Opal, 2 Lands, 1 Drum, 1 Pest, 1 Cranial. Out Cranial. He drew 2 Etched Champion and 1 Cranial. I lost the game 1.
.GAME 2: He played: Cranial Plating in the first turn, Etched Champion, another Champion and an Arcbound Ravager. I think that every deck can lost with this hand.
-TURN 6: GRIXIS SHADOW 2-0 (4-2)
.GAME 1 and GAME 2 were similar, because with his discard spells I had more removals. Liliana and Dark Confidant brought home the game. In the GAME 2 Kitchen Finks and Engineered Explosives the stars.
-TURN 7: RG TRON 2-0 (5-2)
.GAME 1 and GAME 2 were similar because his deck looked dead. Turn 1 discard spells and a Goyf brought home the game. Turn 2 the ultimate of Liliana.
-TURN 8: 4C SHADOW 2-1 (6-2)
.GAME 1: he was very strong to not show me the white splash and I believed he played Jund Shadow. I won the game with Raging + Confidant.
.GAME 2: I've lost a won match. In the topdeck he played 2 Lingering Souls. I had only Chandra Pyromaster and Maelstrom Pulse, because I didn't know the white splash.
.GAME 3: Chandra Pyromaster was the star in this game. In addition, my opponent cycled Wraith with his 5 life points, he made the mistake to lose the game.
So, I finished 6-2 after my first tournament with Jund. The penality to lose the first match.......no TOP16.
But I'm very happy with this list, even if now I try to cut the new Chandra in order to the 3th Kolaghan's Command (in the tournament it was never a dead card in hand). In addiiton, I don't want to add the 24th Land =) =) =).
What to u think about this list? Have u ever tried a similar decklist?
Goodbye Mates and sorry for my bad english!

3 Terminate
2 Lightning Bolt
2 Abrupt Decay
3 Kolaghan's Command
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Thoughtseize
1 Maelstrom Pulse
4 Liliana of the Veil
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
3 Fulminator Mage
3 Kitchen Finks
1 Dreadbore
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Anger of the Gods
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Crypt Incursion
1 Krosan Grip
1 Collective Brutality
1 Jund Charm
In my local tournament, I made 3-1. I won against Abzan, Living-End, Dredge and lost from Mirror. I don't know if it is better to cut all Bolts or not. Maybe -2 Bolt +1 Push +1 Dreadbore.
I would have your opinions about Chandra, Pyromaster, because I think that it seems to be over in the forgetfulness. Why none plays it?
None told about Hazoret, The Fervent. I think that it can be a good cc4, in addition to the new entry Fatal Push. But it can be played now, with the current meta?
I haven't tried it yet.
I'm an italian Jund player for a very short time. Against the ban of my favourite deck, Miracle, I decided to choose Jund in Modern and Legacy. (Sorry for my bad english)
Last friday I arrived 20th at the Main Event Modern on Ovino Tournament in Milan. This was my first tournament in my life with Jund.
My list was:
2 Bloodstained Mire
2 Wooded Foothills
4 Raging Ravine
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
1 Twilight Mire
1 Blood Crypt
1 Overgrown Tomb
1 Stomping Ground
2 Swamp
1 Forest
4 Dark Confidant
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Scavenging Ooze
3 Fatal Push
3 Terminate
2 Abrupt Decay
2 Kolaghan's Command
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Thoughtseize
1 Maelstrom Pulse
4 Liliana of the Veil
1 Chandra, Torch of Defiance
3 Fulminator Mage
3 Kitchen Finks
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Anger of the Gods
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Crypt Incursion
1 Krosan Grip
1 Collective Brutality
1 Jund Charm
