not being able to loop Fulminator with Kholagan's Commands (like Jund) always bugged me.
Liliana, the Last Hope can get Fulminator Mage back. I find Fulmi sometimes quite effective against Burn decks. Keeping them off W for a few turns can be decisive. I realize it isn't necessarily reliable, but it's worked for me before. Fulminator can also wreck three-color decks. I well remember beating Jund by Fulminating an R source once.
I just bought the full playset of tarmo and lili but i dont have any Bob and i'm a little bit low on cash right now, what would be the best alternative?
To cast a GG card reliably on turn 2, you need 20 sources of green, on turn 3 it's 18 sources and on turn 4 it's 16. Playing that card is risky, and you are generally better served by Nihil Spellbomb, Surgical Extraction, or Extirpate.
There's no real misunderstanding. I was momentarily seduced by the possibility of a one-side Rest in Peace but it isn't reliable with the currently fashionable Rock mana-bases.
Double green on turn 2 is more demanding than a turn 3 Liliana in terms of mana sources. You would need 20 green sources to fulfill it. If we take into account that most lists play 16-17 green sources this seems very unreliable. You would need to cut FoR entirely for that probably.
You would go so far as to say very unreliable? Not just a little unreliable?
Yes, one would probably need to eschew colorless lands to reliably hit it when it's needed. It's rather a shame; it's a kick in the groin for a couple of match-ups that ought to be kicked in the groin.
Has Deathmark come up for discussion here? It actually seems entirely reasonable given the amount of Human and Spirit decks. It's also okay against other BGx decks and it's good against Titan decks.
Against Spirits and Humans, an extra cheap removal might be better than a sweeper; one might just be dead before accumulating four mana.
I see it listed in the Primer, so I guess Delver approves. People on Facebook have made some pretty ridiculous comments about it. One poster said it was too narrow for Modern and then suggested Disfigure! Apparently in earnest. One has to wonder what the hell people are thinking sometimes.
@pzbw7z it's actually kind of both. I did mention it for humans and spirits where it is fine vs both of those but I hoping it would basically shut down creatures entering with counters like ballista/ravager/walker, etc. but I guess it's not to be.
I guess you have to go Abzan if you want to play Solemnity.
What is torpor orb for? The animator module? It does bot work with replacement effects, only triggered abilaties.
A bit of a quote would help understanding you.
I believe Torpor Orb was suggested as a side-board card for Humans. It would prevent all of those nasty counters piling up. Spirits were mentioned too, but I don't know that deck well; it would shut-off Rattlechains EtB effect.
Sol pretty much always does things a little different
Concerning the GQ though, he does run 1 Traverse which count as actual manasource in the list. That way its more like a 24-ish manabase naturally, with an extra GQ in the board as 25th land.
I am european, but since english is actually not my native language, I pretty surely just have a mix of anything possible, its basically whatever I pick up. I mostly listen to american english though, but have some british english traits like the word "colour" you observed. Its just how I got used to it, nothing special. I try to improve on the language from day to day though.
Then your work is even more impressive. What is your native language, if you don't mind divulging it?
There were posts about it in early 2015. It won an event somewhere, became the flavor of the month - which drove the price of Rex up from a few bucks to $30+ - and then it slowly evanesced.
Very nicely done. One thing which I think would improve the layout - of this and nearly every other primer - is liberal use of spoilers. It's just a thought.
A couple of nits: It's recommended not to run two Abrupt Decay and two Collective Brutality yet there they both are in Sol's list.
It's stated four Ghost Quarters can't be supported by only 24 lands. Sol runs three GQ main-deck in 23 lands and another GQ side-board. One assumes he sides out a non-land card when he brings the fourth GQ in.
Maybe you and Sol should talk.
And just out of curiosity, which side of the pond do you live on? I see "colour" but not any other indicator of British English. I know it's trivial, but inquiring minds want to know.
And, gee, am I disappointed Obliterock didn't get an historical mention.

I would go for a Grim Flayer build. Tireless Tracker is just not a card I would ever want to see multiples of in a draw.

I don't play Field of Ruin, I play Ghost Quarter. I know, that makes it even worse.

Maybe that's not an bad thing. The Twilight Mire seems to be a good addition to the Treetop-heavy lists.

Rex still sees occasional play in odd decks, like mono-black devotion.
