The heights version seem like it can easily be messed over though. A Ghost Quarter or Field of Ruin can mess up plans or just having enough removal to keep you down to 2 or less guys. Personally, and I haven't played it, but feel like your original take was better.
Seems like you are the mono white aggro master my good sir. Well done on those games. Yeah that game 3 looked pretty good. Which version are you liking better?
Yes those were some good games and it's nice to see you grow as a competitive player. I did not see a single misplay on your end at all. Very well done. Your deck didn't seem to let you down either. Lands were right on time or the vial was there to bail you out. Really good games. Thank you for taking the time to upload them. I don't have an example right now, but I wonder if some of the niche cards may be better as SB cards. And strengthen the main with Lurras and Apparition?
Like I said it's probably not going to happen until a big YouTuber discovers it or until you put up a 5-0. Looking at your record it's not hard to believe that the deck is performing. Even about half your loses were with a game win. Meaning you even have game in those matchups. Maybe a different sideboard or a few tweaks here or there and maybe you'll be able to raise the win rate even higher. I'm sure at some point you'll play against a YouTuber and they'll get spanked and it'll get out there. While I understand that that is what you are wanting it also is good that you have this hidden gem that boasts such a great winning rate. Could maybe take it to an event when paper magic starts back up and take home the 1st place prize. It'll all work out in the end.
Have you put any thought in if you would play the spoiled God card?
Have you considered playing anymore Apparition? It is so strong. I was worried about the potential blow outs but the card has tested and played very well. Not really an occurrence that happens all that often.
While the God card isn't that great as it can't be tutored with Stoneforge it is pretty great as a good bit of his dudes do have some nasty abilities. Thalia being 4/1 firststrike and vigilance would control the board very well. Apparition being a 4/2 with vigilance means you don't want to block it and kill it and you can't really afford to attack into it as it'll just get it's EtB trigger again... But the icing on the cake has to the Captain. Midish game when you get to 5 Mana he'll be able to sac to prevent any sorcery speed spell such as most sweepers and then get it back to cast and get another 1 drop from the deck. Continuously growing his position while making removal very hard to cast.
IDK if it'll make it into his final cut but doesn't really look that bad. Worst case scenario is it's still a beater when drawn after a sweeper or whatever.
79% is totally straight. I'd love it if maybe you could get into a league at some point. If your wanting to get your work noticed that is one of the easiest and best ways. I dominated a pro player the night before a big PTQ to get one of my decks noticed. Lol. Look up PTQ Boston Domain if you want to see my boy Jeff take my creation to the big leagues. He was like it beat the gauntlet. Can I borrow it? Lol
Anyways. I'd like to see a blink effect in here just for fun. Either Blinky 3/1 (flying guy) or Ephimerate. Maybe as a 1 or 2 of. Seems good to get the Mystic, Prince, Appetition effect again.
Most won't try anything new until it gets pushed by someone of notoriety. Don't feel bad for it. It's just the follow the leader mentality that exists in the game. I've done very well with my home brews just like you are doing now.
Nearly won states with a Megatog deck. Then never seen it in a top decklist again. Birthed amulet titan then took about a year and a half until others started playing it. I was the only player playing Tarmogoyf for the first 4 months after it was printed. That deck got me 9th at Dallas regionals. It's actually very very good with Vexing Sphinx btw. I was playing Sphinx of the Chime in legacy dredge WAY WAY before anyone else noticed the infinite dredge and CA applications of it. I can go on, bit I'm sure you see the point.
Heck man even InspiringSpike has created a deck that pretty much puts up daily 5-0s and I don't see many people playing it. Video I watched he did back to back 5-0s and it's still not getting all that much play. BTW that deck uses a combo in the SB that I've been trying to get YouTubers to try for about 2 years now. Different build and style but same SB plan. Ugh
You don't really use your graveyard. Wouldn't Relic be better than Lantern? That way you can exile the grave and draw the card. Lantern gets 1 card for sure, but then doesn't allow you to do both. Also if goyf is a concern the relic always makes him tiny.
Yes, nice game buddy. I was so excited to finally get to see the moth-captain combo. Dang opponent stopped it from happening though. So rude!
Uro... Have you considered a few SB cards to fight him off? One of my favorites is Apostle of Purifying Light. This is a great SB at the moment. Fights the Shadow and Scourge decks. Fights any mainly black deck like the one you just faced. Is targeted and repeated graveyard removal for Goyfs, Uro, Ooze, etc. Can do work in some matchups that you wouldn't expect. Like against storm. Turns off the Eot Gifts as you can just exile key cards from the graveyard... Like the card that gives flashback to everything.
Edit: Have you gotten to get a Moth, Captain, and Prince on the field yet? Pretty much shuts down the opponent from casting spells for like 4 turns. Lol
That game, as you have clearly said already, didn't really matter what you did. That deck was just on top. People sometimes think if they played perfect that they should have won. But what about the flip side? The opponent could also play perfect... So they deserve to win also, right? It's just that playing perfect can give you a few percentage points, but sometimes the opponent's cards just lines up better against your cards. That and also some matchups are just bad. I don't know the case in this regard as your deck is kinda an unknown factor. You are basically the only one playing it. Lol. Which is good because the games feel fresh.
I hope you don't mind my critiques.
The only problem I saw in that game was the turn you vialed in a SFM main phase. They then cast an IoK. If you had held the Mystic you could have responded to the IoK by vialing in the mystic and fetching Batterskull in response. That would have blanket the IoK.
The best general rule is to wait until the last opportunity to do something. I'm just trying to help you become a better player. Hope that's cool.
Good news is that your opponent played a perfect game and you still took it. That kinda shows the power of the deck.
