Now it's me and him. At his end of turn (I have Leyline of Anticipation out), I drop my own Steel on a Blightsteel and use Treasure Mage to search out Memnarch. I swing to make him block with his Goblin Assassin and to put him to 9 poison counters and pass. On his turn he swings with both Colossi; when I drop Memnarch and try to steal the Colossus with Sword of Fire and Ice on it, he sacrifices it to Helm of Posession to take Memnarch. I block the other one.
At this point, he still has a couple blockers (including a Godo that fetched him the sword), when what do I topdeck but Copy Artifact! I play it as a copy of Sword of Fire and Ice, equip to my Blightsteel, and trample over my Memnarch for the win.
Tl, dr: My copy of my Blightsteel with my copy of his Sword swings past my Memnarch, my Blightsteel, and his copy of my Blightsteel.
That was good times. This is the first time I've lost to BSC, and losing with 2 or 3 BSC's on the board is all kinds of epic. And note: Don't cast Acquire on a pauperChild of Alara deck.
Yeah, Sygg only milled me one time the entire game, and when he did, the card he milled was Relic of Progenitus. Seeing the Lark + Body Double in Sygg's graveyard and Saffi + Sun Titan in yours, I was like,
Vorosh lands Nevinyrral's Disk and attempts to pop it, but then I reveal to the world the Second Sunrise that's been sitting in my hand all along! He Knowledge Exploitations me and gets Windfall (Second Sunrise noooo) and like a dufus I just now realize I can loop Second Sunrise indefinitely with Mnemonic Wall and the Phyrexian Altar I played last turn. I draw 50 cards digging for an answer and don't find any instant-speed ones, so my own Windfall decks me and the other players continue the game with 58-card hands. ^^
It's starting to enter the late game, and although I've got tons of mana thanks to Earthcraft, Fertile Ground, and a couple rounds of Seedborn Muse + Vitu Ghazi, the City-Tree, but nothing to really do with it. I'm drawing 4 cards a turn with Rites of Flourishing and Sylvan Library, but I can't manage to do anything except play a few dinky utility creatures, so I pass the turn to Savra.
Savra untaps and says, "I think I can win," so the red flags start to go up. Nicol Bolas had milled this player by 50 or 60 cards with Sword of Body and Mind, so I'm sure that didn't help any. My Gaddock Teeg dies to Krovikan Horror or something, then Savra taps everything for mana and Dread Returns back an Eternal Witness, which gets back Living Death. Now Living Death comes out to play, so I get about five or six dorks and a Yosei trigger. Nicol Bolas gets two equally inconsequential dudes, but as we're looking through the Savra player's graveyard, we see Sadistic Hypnotist, Butcher of Malakir, and It that Betrays, so shenanigans immediately ensue. At least we get another turn, but surely it's all over.
Yes, you are right but I was a bit tired (4 hours sleeping+exam+I have played 5 other 1 vs. 1 that day ) so I hadn't noticed the chance for the combo...
Sir McHalls just made a crazy play by getting post #1337 in this thread. Gah, I'm always one too late!
Tantarus pulled off an epic play. Like, iit's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I actually imagined it happening once, but Tantarus is actually living the dream. Because I'm not actually in the game, I won't tell you what it is just yet, so as to avoid stealing someone's thunder. If they don't post it on here by the time I go to bed, though, I'm telling you all about it.
EDIT: Tantarus gave me permission! Sorry if I'm fuzzy on the details, but I remember the play that matters.
So the board is more or less even, with everyone jockeying for postion. Tantarus has Mana Reflection and Academy Rector in play, with about 5 land and a Darksteel Ingot. He has a few random other permanents, too. His turn, he taps out. What's it going to be? Hey, Myojin of Seeing Winds! That card is awesome. He could probably draw 10 or 11 cards at will.
Someone wipes the board, but Tantarus doesn't draw cards in response! He's going to be losing a good number of permanents. But no, he has bigger plans. Myojin stays indestructible, and Academy Rector triggers.
Tantarus is searching his library.
The seconds tick by.
What's he going to get? What would I get? When I think of Myojin of Seeing Winds, I think of... tokens... Dream Halls... wait, some awesome mechanic that starts with a P. No way, that would be too crazy. Oh look, Tantarus made his choice.
Is that what I think it is? YES, freaking Inexorable Tide, with an indestructible Myojin of Seeing Winds! Tantarus has assembled the doomsday machine, where every spell in his deck cantrips 10 times. Myojin is soon joined by Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, which also begins to proliferate. Tantarus only gets to draw 20 cards before Clone puts a stop to the card drawing shenanigans, but oh, it made my day. I understand that Myojin of Cleansing Fire and Genesis Wave made an appearance in that game, as well, so it must have been truly epic. Maybe one of them can fill you in on the details.
Norin and I managed to profit off of each others' Extraplanar Lens effects the entire game, much to the dismay of the other players. Long story short, I had tons and tons of mana and machine-gunned everyone down with Knollspine Invocation fueled by Squee, Magma Phoenix, and Hammer of Bogardan. Squee get there!
This weekend, I got to hang out with my old playgroup. I was playing Rasputin Dreamweaver versus Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, and Gaddock Teeg (also my deck). Between Teeg, Linvala, and Kiki-Jiki's land destruction, no one was really getting anything done, but I Topped and shuffled and Pondered and Topped and shuffled until I got Doubling Cube and Capsize with 40+ mana to go off through Teeg anyway.
This game looked like it was so much fun, though, so I scooped in response to let everyone else enjoy themselves. They can thank me later.

Norin vs Kamahl!
t3 - mana flare
t4 - Hoarding Dragon, Crucible of Worlds underneath.
Opponent - "you're never going to get that to die"
t5 - Destructive Force
op- scoop.
Man, that's funny how quickly he changed his mind. Reminds me of an MWS log I saw once. Went something like:
<Player> Fiery Gambit
<Opponent> lol
<Player> Heads
<Player> Player flips a coin: HEADS
<Player> Player flips a coin: HEADS
<Player> Player flips a coin: HEADS
<Opponent> <Player Lost>
Playing 1v1. Me Sakashima the Impostor, opp Rafiq of the Many.
Step 1. After gaining full control over the game I played Echo Mage and copied it with my general then leveled them up.
Step 2. Played Fabricate and copied it a couple of times to fetch any artifact acceleration I had in my deck (most important Gauntlet of Power and Sculpting Steel).
Step 3. Targeted Echo Mage with kicked Rite of Replication, then used mage and sakashima to copy it 4 times.
Step 4. Level up all 25 mages (now have 27 fully leveled ones).
Step 5. Resolve Eternal Dominion 55 times.
To make things even more fun opponent had left exactly 55 cards in his deck that I could take.

That is so beautiful.
Agreed. Two beautiful internets for ghost2 and his ridiculously Epic play. Now who wants to follow that act?
But what is this? The Progenitus is casting Knowledge Exploitation targeting me? Oh no he didn't. So I showed him who's boss and played Demonic Consultation naming a card that isn't in my deck. That'll teach that jerk blue mage.
--------
The next game, I was playing Squee, Goblin Nabob against Nicol Bolas and Savra, Queen of the Golgari. It was truly an epic struggle, lasting maybe 2 hours. I had most of my library in my graveyard (just the way I like it) and was recycling phoenixes and burn spells constantly. Eventually a Wheel of Fate goes off and (with our collective input) the Savra player realizes he can combo out with Worm Harvest, Skullclamp, and Phyrexian Altar, drawing his deck and making gobs of mana and gaining tons of life courtesy of his general.
I helped him build most of that Savra deck, so it was a big surprise to see it "go infinite" when I wasn't aware it had the capability. It's been a while since I had that feeling.

Yes, I can think of three or four! I'm terrible at Magic -- that other guy, the one who Paradox Hazed the Convergence player, he's got no excuse.

I get a bonkers starting 8 with Entomb (for Bloodghast), Vampiric Tutor (for Skullclamp), and Sol Ring for good measure, so naturally I'm public enemy #1. I dig dig dig the whole day through and attempt Living Death on turn 5 (with Reveillark, Mulldrifter, Great Whale, Mnemonic Wall, and Myr Battlesphere in my graveyard), which is countered, but I fetch it up again and resolve it the next turn and commence the beatdown.
Vorosh lands Nevinyrral's Disk and attempts to pop it, but then I reveal to the world the Second Sunrise that's been sitting in my hand all along! But huzzah! On his turn, Nicol Bolas draws and casts Time Reversal, which draws me into Stonecloaker, Overgrowth, Skullclamp, and the Worldly Tutor for Ant Queen. Yay for 6 card combos!
Whoa, that's freaking brutal.

Playing Spirit of the Night against Progenitus and Lorthos, the Tidemaker. It's about turn 7 and I've been doing nothing but filtering through my deck with draw spells, so my hand is pure gold.
