I've been denying myself all types of control personally. Not only because of Rune's list, but just because I wanted a UB deck that didnt play anything but what can turn sideways. I think Glen is a great add but I'd only do so if combo was an issue at the table, but that's usually when I get to take out my combo deck.
I think the nightblade is strong only with pingers. He honestly only stayed in as long as Goblin Sharpshooter did, and he was in there simply as an animar meta card. I don't know if anyone still uses Thassa, but I suspect she's out next for me. I think you mentioned it was on the cutting board at some point Rune, but now Filth means I'm unblockable against 90% of the decks I play and I feel like the Scry wasn't too great unless she lined up with Grenzo. She also rarely become a creature and was a dead card in a game where the whole board got wiped, where as Grenzo could fill my board. So far I only really have the dragon on my list so I'm ready for the new set. You guys will have to let me know how useful the tokens end up. I could see using either, maybe even trying out the deathtouch aspect again if the red one sees use.
The deal with the dragon is you can sac before his end step trigger and get him back for a pseudo arena. Honestly worst case with him is he is t1 or t2 draw but honestly it isnt hard to cast everything in the deck but one card, which is another reason I think the lack of control in the deck is so effective- I never really need any specific cards to push board and very rarely do I have a card where I think "I'll need this for later so I better save it." Sitting in hand til hes the last card as a worst case scenario isnt too bad, since if I do push myself to that extent I am probably going for win and capping it off with a draw outlet.
Edit: A conflicting issue is clearly the different playstyles. You may need to find a Marchesa French Thread to get more constructive info. I was wondering why I questioned so many of your card choices.
I've become a huge fan of Silumgar. Sower is a much better card, but is also a little easier to remove. He's incredible off of Sneak Attack when you can snag a creature, swing, sac it and keep it and then let Silumgar take something new. Daretti and other walkers are also relevant.
There are also the random plethora of edh staples that sac something or involve sending another card from play to yard. It also says "own" as opposed to control so it also has some potential synergy with the MC stick creatures and a sac outlet. Also seems great for games that you know will extend or another player has developed as the archenemy. "Draw and life loss on a big fat evasive body with p/t equal to its casting cost" will probably always be a card I'd test. Blood Gift didn't work out but if I can draw 2-3 cards with him each time, I think he'd deserve further consideration.
I personally run Goblin Matron so it's easier for me to get a hold of. The goblin package works pretty well here since Tuk-Tuk Scrapper is the preferred artifact removal creature, Kiki, and my personal favorite Grenzo, Dungeon Warden as well as a few other goblins that can make slots here.
Avaricious Dragon caught my eye. I too tend to run out of gas one way or another and recently slotted out Necropotence because the three black isn't working without the remaining fetch I need. Also just loving the flavor and dragon sub theme my deck is kind of picking up.
Single target haste is meh and that protection comes at sorcery speed...and then sorcery speed again. I can see it being useful if I didnt have the tutors, but I'm looking to give global haste. And of course, I too struggle to ever give up a slot for a dude, the bench is already pretty full. Tempted to started filling a binder with a control shell.
Viscera Seer is too redundant for me. Top decking him over sage is worse because I already have a reliable sac outlet and the scry wont dig me out of the position I'm in. I also find creatures with 1 power a bit risky, and he doesn't have a way to protect him like the other creature sac outlets do. Dropped t2 I'm probably looking at taking an extra turn without any added effects or biting a removal spell when he gets too close-which makes holding the board late game easier because it's that removal spell that would be saved to remove Marchesa in reponse to a board wipe, which seems to be an established necessity for players who know how to play against Marchesa. I started playing this against friends we let proxy so I've had access to Imperial Recruiter and I have tutored Sage of Hours more than once, and each time that extra turn was what sealed the win. I find the ability too useful to ever slot out. I'm normally a combo player so I'm used to a "dead slot" anyways, and I think any properly made deck can allot one if it's impactful enough with the cards it needs to line up with. I think the games he's done work outweighs games he's been dead. I think the biggest thing is: Yes, he is overall not as impactful as other cards, but he is so explosive with certain ones that he merits a slot. As soon as Unspeakable Symbol hits the board he's pretty much a win con. However, if you're still reading after this wall of text, he would be on the chopping board if I ever got my hands on an Obliterator and would def be sealed in if I actually owned an Imperial Recruiter
