Do you guys not feel that way about crippling fatigue? I cut that card a long time ago for giving aggro such a hard time. And also for having an ugly cost, and generally being bad in any scenario other than killing 2 aggro creatures
its hanging out for now because it's dredge support for when I do add that to the cube.
On the other hand it's a good flashback spell and self-mill keeps getting stronger every set.
Pauper has almost no decent sweepers (Pestilence, Crypt Rats, etc) Does cutting 2-for-1 type spells make it harder to come back from behind?
There's a boatload of blue spells better than brainstorm at common. Ponder, Preordain, etc. Even peek.
Brainstorm just lets you know what your next two draws are, really, unless you have a terramorphic expanse in play or something.
Im sure everybody saw they essentially reprinted the refuges, but made all 10 and made them common, I assume it doesn't matter but it is more fixing at common for pauper cubes
Yup. So out goes the guildgates, in goes the refuges.
Pilgrim is awesome. In real cubes you have stuff like Three Dreams, but there's very few quality tutors in pauper. And most white removal in pauper is auras.
So apparently Battle Screech was reprinted at common in VMA. Isn't it kind of super awesome?
Unless it also does something else, LD is rarely good. You don't get a critical mass to forever keep them off mana.
The destroy a land and nobody can block card is kind of interesting. So is the usual aftershock and friends. Fissure too.
Sinkhole is the exception, I guess, because it's pretty brutal to kill their first turn land and it causes them to scoop if they kept a 1-3 land hand and don't draw any mana.
we already had the empyrial armor discussion. its still one of the strongest cards in my cube and the only white card that enables fast wins / get a big dude
I don't like swingy stuff. Quite possibly why I made a pauper cube instead of one with sol ring and jace in it. Armor is only good turn 3.
Custodi Squire seems rather good in pauper. It basically retrieves any artifact, creature or enchantment of your choice (in 1v1 your opponent will always vote teh same as you, or else you get *two* cards back).
Some of the conspiracies are common. Obviously the commons are weaker than the rares, but since they don't go in your deck they are 100% gravy even if you only get a weak effect out of it. Winner seems to me to be Secrets of Paradise. It makes *any* one-drop into a birds of paradise. So as long as you have any one-drop you're basically guaranteed free ramp.
The whole point of making synergy archetypes is that you run corner cards.
Goblins don't *really* have that much going for them aside from sparksmith.
Tribal in pauper is fun because it's like Onslaught tribal - if you whiff, you still have quality dudes (versus Lorwyn, where you might as well scoop if you don't get your tribe).

Amirite?
If the black colorshifted one in Planar Chaos was reprinted as common that would be awesome.
