Yeah, I realised walls wouldn't work almost immediatly after I posted that. With only 1-2 Vent Sentinels in the entire cube it is likely that they'd just doom blade them and you'd have no way to kill them
The aura deck might not be as bad as it looks with a bunch of creatures that love auras
I especially like Dauthi Jackal. 2 unblockable power with the power to destory things looks decent enough. Now just to check up what else is in blacks 3 drop slot to see how it compares.
Samite Pilgrim
Really varies in cube to cube,if there is support for 5 color sunburst then it's a a solid adition. But I wouldn't play it in anything less than 4 color decks.
Dauthi Jackal
I think you should be better of playing a removal spell like doom blade. A big problem with the card is that you have to use it on a blocking creature, meaning that often it will get killed before the activation. Also, your opponent just wont block your guys with anyting meaniful if he sees you have this on the table.
Nantuko Shaman is pretty amaizing
Ruinous Minotaur
I'm sad to say I've played this in constructed. So this comes from my own experience, it just too slow. Immediatly when it came into play it ate a shock or a disfigure. Or it just got blocked by random 2/2 and died.
Tarpit warrior
is 3/4 for 3 with a major downside
Priest of Titania is good with a lot of elves but is just a bad Llanowar elves otherwise. The closest comparison I can think of is War Falcon.
While I do like really old school cards for the earliest sets, it just is a really underpowered combat trick in the 2nd best kill spell colour, red. So not worth it at all.
Also it's oracle text is really hard to digest. Although the written text is easy to comprehend. I really like the fact that with my cube I can take pre-made decks to newer players and teach them how to play, because in general the rules text on commons is easy to comprehend. Nice and simple with a couple of spicy older cards thrown in the mix.
I don't know, if you change it could very well be just a different spin on prey upon and I think having red spells that don't just damage could be interesting. There are also a lot of choices to be made with it, make your guy unblockable, throw a creature into your team, tap their blocker. Then again it could just be really bad and Im not seeing it because I just want to play with one more cool Alpha card.
Another question, do you guys think the aura deck is good if you add it is it not? What about the wall deck?
Ahhh, but the thing is you'll never have cast Vile Rebirth earlier than turn 3. It is not anything like the other 2/2 for 1's because you just can't cast it then. The closest comparison is Unearth. Cards like these are really good around the turn 3-4 range as they allow you to continue to play decent threats in the later turns without having to get all your land drops which leads to virtual card advantage, (hint: these decks play 16 lands). Then in addition to the 1 drop you can cast a 2 or 3 drop. It allows black aggro to play a higher density of threats without sacrificing power.
Also during your opponents turn you can cast Doom Blade or similar and then Vile Rebirth to just completely blow out your opponent. The loss of the best creature plus a flash blocker can completely turn around the board. And there are a couple of neat-o tricks that Vile Rebirth can do that give the card some flexibility.
How is casting doom blade into Vile a blow out. You traded card for card in doom blade a two drop for your bile, sure, you are up 2 mana but no one lost any cards. And while he's down a 2 and 3 drop, you just lost one of your best cards. It should just be better to cast doom blade into tragic slip
I don't think Vile Rebirth is very good, if you want to play it turns 1 and 2 you have to use a removal spell on a one drop, which isn't desireable and turns 3-4 2/2s do next to nothing
Hmm, I do have a Crookclaw but never found it to be good enough. I'm still very sceptical, because I'm not sure if the P/T switch really does anything in this format.
I would have liked to do the review this time, but I won't have the time until the 29th/30th. So if that's early enough for you, I can do it, but if someone's able to finish it earlier, go ahead and do it.
What? Crookclaw is amaizing! 2 for 1 all day long!
How did you fix black?
I have this problem that whenever someone tries to play heavy black, they lose horribly. I had this problem with white, fixed it with rebels(working great btw). Are there any black "rebels"? I belive tortured existence with some support could work. But I want to get some different ideas because I think that deck would need atleast 2 existences.

And some good auras
So these are the cards I think might work if you have
I dont know, the aura deck could be OK
Well alright Nantuko Shaman isn't amaizing but it is green's second best 4 drop after blastoderm

Yeah, that's a lot of text. I was thinking you could simplify it to say...
You choose how target creature attacks or blocks during this combat step.
I think it could be a lot of fun. Plus cards from Alpha are always cool

Im not as excited about the watersourser, there are soooo many cards that are better than it.
Like: Crookclaw transmuter (best blue common after exclude), calcite snapper

Its a pity, he would have been so good.
