T1: RG TRON 2-1 (1-0)
GAME 1: T3 Karn, Pulse on Karn, T4 Ugin GG.
GAME 2: Land IoK, Land Goyf, Land FMage, Land Liliana, FMage, GG with Goyf.
GAME 3: He didn't have tron pieces on 3th turn and I managed to play FMage, in addition to 2 thoughseize. Tasigur + Liliana brought home the match.
T2:UR STORM 2-0 (2-0)
GAME 1: I began with 2 discard spells and Liliana 3th turn. Goyf made the rest.
GAME 2: He sided in Blood Moon and Ensnaring Bridge. I began with Iok, Swamp, Verdant, Raging, Thoughtseize, Lightning Bolt, Tasigur. Verdant for Forest and none problem with his Blood Moon on 3th turn. He played Ensnaring Bridge with my Goyf + Tasigur. At the end of this turn Jund Charm +2+2 on Goyf and in my turn Maelstrom Pulse on his Bridge...GG.
T3:UW CONTROL 2-0 (3-0)
GAME 1: He played a lot of Planeswalkers. New Gideon CC3, Jace Architect of Thoughts, Elspeth Sun's Champion, Gideon Jura, and then Spreading Seas and Detention Sphere. In this game I managed to play 2 discard spells and Liliana of the veil on 3th turn, in order to leave my opponent with 0 cards in hand. On topdeck he drew 2 Gideon and Jace, resolved by Goyf, Ooze and Maelstrom Pulse. The choice of 2 MPulse MD was very strong to me.
GAME 2: Iok, FMage, FMage and then Seize + Liliana..GG.
T4:ELDRATRON 0-2 (3-1)
GAME 1: T3 Karn......G2.
GAME 2: I mulligan to 6 in order to keep with a Fulminator Mage. I dind't draw any FMage and I've lost with T4 Tron pieces, with 2 Reality Smasher and Karn.
T5:VIZIR COMBO 2-0 (4-1)
GAME 1: A very long game. He played 4 eternal witness and he managed to play 6 Collected Company, but the ability of Tasigur and Ooze brought home the match.
GAME 2: on 4th turn he had Finks, Noble, Bop, Witness. In my turn Anger of the gods. In his next turn he played another Witness, Vizir and another Bop. Subsequently Tasigur + Jund Charm. GG.
SIDEBOARD: -4 liliana of the veil -2 kolaghan's command | +1 damnation +1 jund charm +1 engineered explosives +1 anger of the gods +1 nihil spellbomb +1 surgical extraction
T6:UW CONTROL I.D. (4-1-1)
The prizes were 100%, so we decided to split all prizes in the TOP8.
Some considerations:
- 4 Fulminator Mage: I don't know how you should win against Uw Control, Rg Valakut, Mirrors, Eldrazi, Tron....without Fulminator Mage. This was MVP in a lot of matches. Nevermore under 3-4 copies.
- 2 Maelstrom Pulse MD: wow. It is the first time to play 2 of maindeck. This was the best choice I've ever made with Jund. Maindeck is a flexible slot against any kind of deck.
- 2 Tasigur, The Golden Fang: the star of the deck. You should try it.
-1 Rakdos Charm, 1 Golgari Charm, 1 Jund Charm: Three wonders cards. I love flexibility in my sideboard, and they managed to do what I need. Rakdos Charm is less powerful than others, but is very strong right now.
-Nihil Spellbomb: I prefer this card instead of Leyline of the Void. Absolutely. In addition to Rakdos Charm, Jund Charm and Surgical Extraction....I'm happy against graveyard decks.
-3 Kitchen Finks: I expected some Mirrors, Burn and Grixis Shadow...but there were maybe 6/7 players with these decks.
So, I'm very happy with this list, and in the next tournament I'll play the same list.
Do u have any questions about my list?
I like your Deck!at the First Time your decision of Tasigur Looks weird but it works good for you:)!do you Play him because he is fatal Push Proof or is His ability also important for you?and why you kicked out lilly the Last hope completely?
Nice job man! In addition to the last question, how would you sideboard against grixis control and grixis death shadow if you played them?
Been playing BG rock for a while now and I'm going to switch to Jund or Abzan because the ghost quarters are not really strong right now.
With that being said I have been testing bloodghast out of the sideboard against control, deaths shadow and BGx for the past couple of weeks. I have come away extremely impressed with the card. It also has really strong synergy with kalitas with Lilliana. Has anyone else tried this card?
My list was imprinted against certain decks as Living End-Dredge, EldraTron, Company, Burn.
I've found all of these decks.
T1: LIVING END 2-1 (1-0)
GAME1: we were on topdeck, I have a Scavenging Ooze 6/6 and he was at 2 life points. He hadn't drawn the cascade spell.
GAME 2: 3 fulminator mage on the other part and I didn't drawn any other land
GAME 3: I had Scavenging Ooze and Tasigur onto the graveyard (the first removed by Beast Within and the second discarded by Liliana of the Veil). He had a lot of creatures in his graveyard, but my Rakdos Charm on his Living End brought home the match.
T2: BW POX 2-1 (2-0)
GAME 1: He played a deck with Bloodghast, Bitterblossom, Lingering Souls, Gideon, Sorin, Discard Spells, Smallpox. An annoying deck. I started on the draw with IoK, Tseize, Push, Bolt, Blackcleave, Terminate, DConfidant. Yes, only one land but I was on the draw with 4 cc1 spells. I didn't draw any other land in the next 5 turns.
GAME 2: Discard, Discad, Confidant, Liliana and then Tarmogoyf + Tasigur. G3
GAME 3: He played Leyline of the Void on the start, but my discard spells and Liliana the Last Hope brought home the match.
SIDEBOARD: +1 Jund Charm, +1 Engineered Explosives, +1 Maelstrom Pulse, +4 Fulminator Mage | -2 Fatal Push, -2 Lightning Bolt, -1 KCommand, -2 Terminate
(I wanted to keep all discard spell because he played a lot of spells which annoying me.
T3: BURN 0-2 (2-1)
GAME 1: Mulligan to 5. 5 lands. Scry 1: land, bottom. I drew other 2 lands.
GAME 2: Mulligan to 5. 4 lands and 1 spell. Scry 1: land, bottom. I drew other 2 lands.......
T4: COMPANY 2-0 (3-1)
GAME 1: He played a strange Company deck with Knight of Reliquary, Voice, Finks, Sigarda, Tracker....This was a very long game, even if Dark Confidant gave me 9-10 additional cards.. Tasigur and Ooze the MVP of the game.
GAME 2: Discard, Removal + Discard, Ooze. Also this game was very long. He had Witness + Bop, + Hierarch, +Token Voice. In my other part Tasigur + Goyf and a Confidant and I had 3 Life Points. Jund Charm in this moment brought home the match.
SIDEBOARD: +3 Kitchen Finks, +1 Damnation, +1 Anger of the Gods, +1 Engineered Explosives, +1 Jund Charm | -4 Liliana of the Veil, -2 KCommand, -1 Liliana the Last Hope (I think that against this type of deck it is useless)
T5: ELDRATRON 2-1 (4-1)
GAME 1: He drew all cards he needed.
GAME 2: Bob + Fulminator + Fulminator + KCommand + Seize. GG. My 2 Goyf were 6/7
GAME 3: Seize + Bob + Fulminator + 2 KCommand. GG with the ultimate of Liliana of the Veil.
T6: ELDRATRON -- (4-2)
I've found my friend and I decided to give the game to him and split all prizes he managed to win. I'm not interested in the RPTQ qualification, instead of my friend.
He arrived in the final match but he lost =(.
T7: RG VALAKUT 2-1 (5-2)
GAME 1: Discard Spell on his Explore/Farseek and he drew the same....2 times. Primeval Titan GG with Valakut.
GAME 2: Seize + Bob + Fulminator Mage + KCommand + Surgical / Fulminator Mage.
GAME 3: Seize, IoK, Fulminator Mage, Fulminator Mage, Liliana. GG.
Some considerations:
-Tasigur, the Golden Fang: I know you wrinkled your nose with Bob + Tasigur hahahaha, but Jund needs a big creature now, and I think that Tasigur is the best choice. I don't like Olivia/Huntmaster for their bodies. Right, 6 damages with Bob are very relevant (for now I have never happened in the tournament. Only in test, and I didn't lose).
-23 Lands: the perfect number right now.
-Jund Charm: it is the best flexibility slot which I won't never cut.
-7 discard spells MD: Now there are a lot of spells that they mustn't enter onto the battlefield. I think that it is the best choice.
-4 Raging Ravine: I will never leave home without them. I always want to have them in hand.
A question: I would have a report about Tireless Tracker in Jund. Anyone have tested him?
Finally, what do u think about my list?
Congrats on the success and great report!
Very interesting decklist. I have been wanting to play tasigurs but I'm afraid of revealing one off of a Bob trigger. I will probably give them a try because they are very strong with all the fatal pushes in the meta.
Many people on this forum have been discouraged with fulminator mages. It seems like they put in work for you this weekend. I have personally had a difficult time against UW control and Grixis control. Is it good in these matchups? How about the Etron matchup?
How did your graveyard hate work out for you? I have seen less surgicals being played and have not seen many decks with rakdos charm and Jund charm. Can you provide some insight into those choices?
I switch between Jund, Abzan and BG Rock depending on the meta and in my experience Tireless Tracker is best in BG rock with 4 ghost quarters and fetchlands. I have found it difficult squeezing tracker into kinds 75 because BG rock already plays maindeck ghost quarters and Jund/Abzan usually play some fulminators for this type of effect. With that said the card is awesome and can run away with games. It's the perfect card to bring in when you know they are going to bring in graveyard hate against you. The card grows into a monster and provides insane card advantage. If you can find room for it I recommend trying 2-3 in the 75 in order to diversify and mitigate the risk of getting hurt by graveyard hate.
Just wondering how you guys sideboard against UW Control? I'm inclined to take out Abrupt Decays and Lightning Bolts but they would be useful against Rest in Peace / Planeswalkers. Do you cut terminates or discard?
I'm running Huntmaster and Olivia
Prime targets for Decay are the new Gideon, RIP, Detention Sphere, Spreading Seas, Crucible, Clique - I wouldn't take them out. Bolts are less useful. I like my second Maelstrom Pulse out of the sideboard.
Olivia isn't gonna do much I think, you need to 2-for-1 them. As such, Huntmaster is the better choice for sure.
Thrun with backup regen mana should be huge here. Outside of Cryptic tapdown, new Gideon's 0 mode, and Wall + Jace AOT's plus mode they can't deal with it at all.
On the play I'd be inclined to at least keep my Thoughtseizes in, just so I can deal with problem cards like Walkers / Cryptics. Your life total is fairly irrelevant here anyway.
Not sure on Terminate. It hits Gideon Jura in creature mode and Colonnades, but by the time they're swinging with the latter you're probably dead anyway. Striking that fine balance between putting on pressure and not overextending into a sweeper is key in this matchup.
Are fulminator mages worth it for this matchup? You can beat down with it and force them to use removal on it. Then pop it for value?
Please read the thread, we've just discussed Fulminators fairly extensively on the previous page.
I have been following it and many have said it's not worth it against Etron and the general meta. I was asking what their experience is with it against UW control. I'm trying to figure out ways to improve the deck so it's best if you keep negative comments that discourage constructive deck building to yourself

How do you guys choose to deal with Lingering Souls? I'm not a fan of sweepers as they just keep coming back at my opponent's leisure anyway.
Lili Hope is great but if she dies or is discarded I'm left with no outs. Every Abzan game I'm firmly in the pilot's seat until Souls comes down and they grind me to a halt. As such, I've been weighing some pretty unorthodox sideboard options as I'm sick of losing to this card.
Your thoughts on Darkblast? Recurring removal at the expense of a draw step, but combines nicely with Bob and Tracker.
Illness in the Ranks - it's a narrow NOSB but it's cheap and it doesn't kill Bob while still hitting Souls, Goblins (Storm's main wincon against us) and fringe stuff like Faeries (good luck winning through it).
Perhaps Surgical Extraction is still the best option, I don't know. Either way, I'm tired of Souls and they gotta go down somehow.
I have 2 LtLH, Anger, and Night of Soul's Betrayal in my SB. I really like NoSB, but its tough since we generally want Bob in those matchups. But I guess its still the best and most worthwhile answer which is hard to remove.
I don't recommend surgical at all, usually these matchups are grindy as hell, and you really don't want surgical in such matchups. Never board it in in grindy matchups.
So, I am reporting back from the pptq I went today. Was satisfied with my finish of 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw to get into top 8. Unfortunately I was paired against an abysmal matchup in the top 8 and I lost the quarter finals.
Round 1 I played Grixis DS, which ended in a draw. I think I played correctly and properly, my opponent was a pretty good player, which meant it was a tough battle of exchanging resources. Gurmag and Tasigur were annoying but manageable with 4 LoTV and 3 Terminate. Since it was the first round I needed much time to consider my opnions and therefore we only finished game 2 2 min before extra turns, so we drawed then.
Round 2 I played 4 colour DS. It was basically Grixis DS with white splash for souls. The manabase was pretty greed you can imagine. I think the splash was hurting more than benefiting him, since he wanted to have a little bit of strength from each colour but overall the deck was just diluted because of this. My deck ran more smoothly and consistant for which reason I managed to win that one.
Round 3 I played Counters Company which felt incredibly easy. Ooze and loads of removal are such MVP in this matchup. My SB hate was also abysmal for my opponent: NoSB, 2 LtLH, Anger, Damnation. Felt really great nullifying my opponents Finks and E-Witts with my Ooze.
Round 4 I played BW Eldrazi, which is a tough matchup. They basically have Souls which is annoying as well as Smasher and TKS which also is hard to remove. Game 1 he beat me with 2 completey Lingering Souls. Game 2 I boarded in my Souls hate, but my opponent happened to have Smashers and TKS instead this time. I had NoSB on board but it didn't do enough. Quite sad.
Round 5 I played Burn which I won 2-0 pretty easily. I am feeling pretty comfortable playing Burn in the last few weeks, the matchups gets better and better for my record. My opponent did not have chance actually, I never had to dodge topdecks from my opponent which would kill me instantly.
At this point I got into top 8 at 5th place. I was paired against a 4 colour bring to light scapeshift, which I never ever expected. This matchup is just terrible, they have 8 scapeshifts, Remand for LoTV and my removal is all complete garbage. Discard is pretty bad against one card combo decks. You can't protect you against Topdecks through TS/IOK. Well, I did lost that one 0-2 unfortunately, but I couldn't blame my decisions, I think this matchup is close to Tron and that means something.
Overall I was satisfied, but I would have preferred it to at least go to semi finals or finals. But I do feel pretty confidant now about the mkm series which are coming up next week.

I don't play big sweepers like damnation. I don't like killing all of my creatures. I prefer removal that only hits some of my creatures like engineered explosives, flaying tendrils, anger of the gods, golgari charm.
I still think bgh is too situational. Yeah sometimes its better than terminate but how often its worse? There are only situational arguments for bgh to be better than terminate, no general ones. And in the end, terminate kills everything it needs to, including smasher.
I agree with your logic but Doesnt Jund want to provide upgrades to similar mainddvk cards by sideboarding? Big game hunter out of the board is stronger than terminate against grixis shadow and control because it hits the shadows and delve threats and can't be stubborn denialed.
Against grixis control it weakens their kcommands and hits the tasigurs.
Against Eldrazi decks it 1 for 1's the smasher and can also hit TKS and endbringer.
Perhaps sideboards are too tight to fit this in but it can make for an easy SB swap of 2 lightning bolts out for 2 big game hunters.
I have not tested this yet and it's all ideas right now so I could be totally wrong. I just think it's an idea worth exploring since the meta is not great for BGx right now.
The synergy might be nice but overall and most of the time, this card will just be a worse terminate for 3 mana. If I would want more hard removal I would probably play a fourth terminate over BGH.
Good point. Perhaps it would be better suited in a BG Rock deck as a sub for terminate.
Also able to kill Reality Smasher without needing to discard or pitch it to Smasher's discard clause and take out a TKS, etc. Is it a straight up replacement for Terminate? On paper, no - but given the overall meta, its not a terrible card to think about.
I'm using it in place of Terminate #3 in my list currently and loving it. It also has given me a great awkward traverse target against DS decks where they can't make you discard or you get to kill their creature for B but if they let you have it, you kill their creature anyway.

Bolt, terminate, grim lavamancer seems strong at the moment due to all the decks playing around fatal push. Bolt and lavamancer hit mirran crusader too.
Should we be playing 4 bolts again?
What should we be playing at the 4 drop? Olivia, kalitas, huntmaster? Never been a fan of Chandra.
3-4 leylines or 3-4 spellbomb/graffdiggers in the board?
Should we still be playing fulminators or should we just concede to the big man matchups such as tron, etron, shapeshift?

Nice job man! In addition to the last question, how would you sideboard against grixis control and grixis death shadow if you played them?
With that being said I have been testing bloodghast out of the sideboard against control, deaths shadow and BGx for the past couple of weeks. I have come away extremely impressed with the card. It also has really strong synergy with kalitas with Lilliana. Has anyone else tried this card?

Thanks for ge report. Bring to light scapeshift is not common at all so it was def bad luck.
Any changes that you would make to the deck? Would you get rid of the fulminators?
Were you happy with your graveyard hate? Was the 3 sqooze and 2 spellbomb a enough?

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to your results.
Can you share your list?
This is also true. Have you done any testing with it?
Good point. Perhaps it would be better suited in a BG Rock deck as a sub for terminate.
It has good synergy with Lilliana, collective brutality and can be pitched when you get hit with a kcommand.
Has anyone done extensive testing with it?
I think it can work even outside of a traverse list by replacing your weak removal (bolt) in a matchup.
