SecretInfiltrator: My first instinct was that this is undercosted, but that's really not the case at all and just my guts having crap for brains. It's a neat little removal spell with that whole Path to Exile use it on my own guy benefit slapped on. Is "golden" a reference to the "golden rule?"
The exact response to the effect I intended.
"Gold" refers to the flavor concept: Card drawing occasionally is shown to translate to the flavor of wealth (Greed, Treasure Trove).
The edict is for execution by being turned into a golden statue (the two illustration/flavor text concepts I envision suggest either by "being exposed to the gaze of a species of Gorgon that turns to gold rather than to stone" or more mundane "being coated in molten gold while (initially) alive and conscious".
Either way the former controller can at least sell the new statue for a card.
So no intentional relation to the "golden rule" in the name - though it originally was created for a cycle that revolved around the concept that you might want to use them on yourself as well as on others. Just a happy coincidence.

That's where the argument ends. All the other stuff is unimportant. This is where your decision to submit the card to the DCC fails. You created the card for a certain audience. You get your evaluation from a different audience.
All the passion and indignation you feel about the topic is entirely useless. You decided to submit the card in a contest that by its very nature has people look at the card without context and judge by their own appreciation.
You deliberately deviate from the well-known standards of planeswalker evaluation. You will get people using those standards ignore your card.
If you make the card for your playgroup and they like it that's a success. Everyone else is not your target audience and didn't get to tell you what they want from a 'walker beforehand.
Now they do: They want it flashy and top-down (since they are characters with defined traits and not generic mooks). The feedback you get right now on what is missing on your card is equally valuable to your future designs you submit to the DCC as your friends feedback is to what you design for your playgroup.
You didn't try to tell your friends that they are wrong with their wishes, did you? You bend to them when designing this card, isn't that right? Do you react differently to the feedback you get here? If so, why?

-I'd make it a replacement effect instead: "The next time you would discard a card this turn, instead draw a card."
That was the original wording before I put some thought into it and did my research on the topic. The wording you propose might have some unintended side-effects. Hence I decided to go with the established wording that appears already on existing cards.
You will notice that no existing card replaces the discard event itself, but there are some static effects that change where a card goes as you discard it. It's a subtle difference but I decided to preserve it.

I personally play the game of replacing cantrips the other way around - rather than spreading "Draw a card" around all colors I spread other stuff around e. g. lifetrips "Gain 1 life". We see similar thematic things in canon sets: Paintrips "Its controller loses 1 life" in New Phyrexia and now scrytrips "Scry 1" in Theros.
I think the important thing is that they are something simple that can be done quite automatically - hence the current new "Scry 1" is better than the more complex and thought-intensive "Scry 2" we have seen earlier.
Similarily "Draw a card" doesn't involve any choice at all in addition to the one already made for the main effect. Paintrips, lifetrips and potential crit'trips (1/1 token) or manatrips wouldn't involve a choice.
Note that many of them can already easily be shared among more than half of the colors without raising an eyebrow about the color pie as long as it's paired with a reasonable effect.

I think that philosophy matters more to set creation than to an individual entry to a contest.
The interesting difference with a set and a contest decided by public voting: You can proclaim to ignore one design rule for sour set and it's gone. For the individual entry to a contest you will automatically lose the votes of everyone who cares about that design rule enough.
I'd argue following the design rules of WotC might matter more to the individual entry since you have no context to justify ignoring the design rule.
Btw: I personally let the design rule slide since it's easy to imagine a wording like "[...] +1/+1 counters give -1/-1 rather than +1/+1 this turn" that makes no reference to -1/-1 counters and be done with it.

Thanks rush! I'm glad you approve of my evil brainstorm! I would love to play with that card. I'm sorta stumped why more people aren't excited to.
Well, considering you posted it on a day where I would have gladly given out three or more votes rather than on a day where I struggled to place even the two I have, I call bad timing. Also the wording isn't finalized making it seem less refined.

@void_nothing: Its not always about text size and line numbers. Warp World is broken down into two grokable steps. Your card has a decision tree.
I let this one out on purpose. My source tells me the Archenemy rules were added in the Magic 2011 rules update.

Didn't they do that with Planechase and Commander already? And again with Planechase 2012?

@doombringer: I think your submission is broken i. e. your text does read as nonsensical. You might want to pass over it once more.
