Bori Andon, Blastseeker1UR
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard {R} Flying
Whenever you cast a spell without paying its mana cost, flip a coin. If it comes up heads, draw a card. If it comes up tails, Bori Andon, Blastseeker deals 2 damage to target creature or player. "Reckless endangerment" would be putting it mildly. 2/2
IIW: A card for two psychographics (Timmy, Johnny, and/or Spike).
Creatures you control can't block and must attack each turn if able.
IIW: Alternate flashback costs.
AI: I feel like the design is fairly elegant, and would do well as a foil for enemy colored commanders. The "casting spells without paying mana costs" is also a neat sub theme Wizards can build around, too. I like the positive effects on both of the coin flips - I like to kill off weenies and draw cards in EDH. It's a simple, functional design - it's fine by itself as a Wind Drake, and it becomes slightly more powerful when your inner Johnny plays with it. My only worry is that it's not very splashy or appealing - it's not the sort of commander that you can stick into your R/U casual deck and expect it to perform well. It has to be built around, which might hinder it with its Legendary status. It's perfectly fine for Commander, though.
Polendino: I like the flavor of this card, first of all. This sort of feels like some sort of "Sudden Death" Magic where your guys are cheaper you have to pay some sort of price for it. If this was any other format then I'd be dinging this for its superiority to Heartless Summoning and the fact that it lets you power up your fatties quicker. This might be okay in EDH (and definitely okay in Legacy and Vintage) but I'd be worried about powered up Sun Titans and other fatties. The attack each turn clause doesn't mean much when your guys are smashing up the board already. I would daresay that cost reduction doesn't really belong in RW's portion of the color pie and it kind of doesn't fit a Boros strategy of attacking with weenies. I like the flavor and concept you have with this card, but the rest is left to be a bit desired.
Bori Andon, Blastseeker is your 2013 Best Club Flamingo Card!
(Now I'll have to send in a trophy request, which has apparently been on the backlog for four months - Heck, Svennihilator /still/ hasn't gotten his, despite winning the Pro Tour...)

Next Challenge: A card for two psychographics (Timmy, Johnny, and/or Spike)

2013 Best Club Flamingo Card Award Information & Guidelines
Welcome to the 2013 Best Club Flamingo Card Award! First off, we'd like to inform you that it is not important who wins this - the purpose of this is to give us all an excuse to show appreciation for other members and their contributions. Who wins in the end is not a big deal one way or another.
The Forum Awards are divided into two parts, and the first is the Nomination, which begins on Monday, November 25, and lasts half an hour. The top three nominees will proceed to the second part, which is Voting. Voting begins on Monday, November 25, and lasts another half an hour. After that, the Forum Awards are concluded, and the winner will be the next judge.
Here are some guidelines for a fun, rewarding and meaningful round of Forum Awards:
Nominate/vote based on the criteria of the card. Leave personal bias at the door, and vote for the most deserving candidate instead of your best friend.
Nominating and voting for yourself is allowed, but you are encouraged to vote for the one you find to be most deserving (which, of course, could be you).
Do not attempt to rig the Forum Awards in any way. Doing so is just lame; we're competing for a CF Judge and Prophylaxis has put a lot of effort in setting this up. Please do your part to ensure this will be fun and fair for all. Multiple IPs to rig votes will result in no consequences.
Be respectful of other users and their opinion. You may not agree with others' nominations or votes, but please don't start arguing why Brofaux's card is so much better than Chemtrails'. Bring up positive attributes of Brofaux's card, but making direct comparisons between users is a poor way to avoid unnecessary drama.
Lastly, keep in mind that this is the 2013 Forum Awards, not the Fall '13 Forum Awards, so keep in mind users who mostly contributed earlier this year as well.

Refracting Fighter3W
Creature - Human Soldier (C)
When Refracting Fighter enters the battlefield, you may pay 3R. If you do, then put a 4/2 red Warrior creature token onto the battlefield.
2/4
Doom Reclaimer:mana::SymG::SymU::SymB:
Creature — Human Shaman (R)
At the beginning of your upkeep, put the top X cards of your library into your graveyard, where X is the number of cards in your hand. Then return a card from your graveyard to your hand.

AKA "neutral mason team strongarms lynch of the hitman meant to keep them in check; there are no repercussions because the town cannot afford to lynch either of the masons and the scum team doesn't want to waste a kill on them because they can scumside"
Shaybala's Disciple1G
Creature — Human Druid (U)
When Shaybala's Disciple enters the battlefield, put a 1/1 green Saproling creature token onto the battlefield. G,T: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature token. Students of Shaybala are given a single seed. They graduate when the tree it becomes breaches the canopy.
1/1
IIW: Cultists.
As usual, CC with the solid yet unexciting design. My gut reaction to this is that it's fairly solid in Limited and doesn't really have a home in Constructed (because you're too busy with your mana to make a 1/1 grow). Another gut reaction is that players will have to make a decision point every time they play with this card - tick it up or curve out (Solid design, as usual).
Vitu-Ghazi Gardener enters the battlefield with three till counters on it.
GW, Remove a till counter from Vitu-Ghazi Gardener: Put a 1/1 green Saproling creature token onto the battlefield.
Sacrifice three Saproling creature tokens: Put a 2/4 green Treefolk creature onto the battlefield.
3/3
My gut reaction says that this should be composed of +1/+1 counters and make Saprolings, then sac those Saprolings to make Treefolks for a cool "He turns into Saprolings then turns into a tree!" flavorific design. As it is, it's.. fine, I guess? I mean it feels like too much work to get the 2/4, to be honest.
Druid's Vision1GG
Enchantment (R)
Whenever a spell or activated ability allows a player to search their library for a card, each of that player's opponents may search their library for a card of the same type, reveal it and put it on the top of their library after shuffling.
Power Siphon2
Artifact (R)
Whenever an opponent plays a spell, add 1 to your mana pool. This mana does not empty between phases until the end of the turn.
Arcane Consumer2UU
Creature - Elemental Wizard (R)
Flash
When Arcane Consumer enters the battlefield, counter target spell. If you do, put an arcane counter on Arcane Consumer. U, Remove an arcane counter from Arcane Consumer: Return Arcane Consumer to its owner's hand.
2/2
Mana RiftRRR
Instant (R)
Split-Second (As long as this spell is on the stack, players can't cast spells or activate abilities that aren't mana abilities.)
Play this spell only when a land enters the battlefield under an opponent's control. Destroy that land and remove any mana it added to its controller's mana pool this turn.
IIW: color-shifted
Druid's Vision: I feel like this is a narrow way to hate tutor effects, which aren't a huge problem.
Power Siphon: "Counterspells you cast cost 1 less to cast" is how I'm reading this.
Arcane Consumer: Needs to cost more - repeatable control effects are frowned upon (I can see where you're going with this)
Mana Rift: A cool way to give red control effects (and yes, this is a newbie's interpretation of land destruction)
Two hits, one half, and one miss. Let's see what the rest of the entries bring us.
Kelushi, Hornet Disciple - 1GGBB
Legendary Creature - Human Shaman
Whenever a non-token creature dies, put a 1/1 flying insect creature token onto the battlefield. BG, Sacrifice 4 Insects: Return Kelushi, Hornet Disciple from the graveyard to the battlefield.
4/4
IIW: Non-legendary wedge cards.
I like this design - provides a useful passive ability and it self-synergizes with itself, which is pretty fun. You can also abuse it with sacrifice effects pretty nicely.
Gift of FriendshipW
Enchantment (R)
When a player attacks you sacrifice ~. (You permitted to cry at this time as it's quiet)
During each upkeep each player gains 3 life and draw a card. "Friendship is the gift that keeps on giving"
IIW: Reminder text that would seem too stupid for even a Un-set
A cool way to accelerate everything until someone wants it to stop. At first I didn't like this but as I read the card I could see some uses for this in EDH, for example. Not sure where to judge it on the design angle, to be honest.
Two Too Many To Count :2mana::symu:
Sorcery (U)
Draw two cards. Gotcha — Whenever an opponent says "Two", "Too" or "To," you may say "Gotcha" If you do, return Two Too Many To Count from your graveyard to your hand.
Gotcha is a bad mechanic, and it's strictly better than Divination. Not terribly innovative design-wise!
Simic Mosspup (U/G)
Creature - Plant Hound C
Evolve
When Simic Mosspup has 2 or more +1/+1 counters on it, you may transform it.
1/1 The Simic realized they could greatly expand their businesses by selling creatures designed to be cute more so than violent.
// Simic Mosshound [ug]
Creature - Plant Hound UG: Simic Mosshound gains flying and hexproof until end of turn.
3/3 "The golgari variants are ugly and not well suited for most ventures. We've improved on both aspects." - Vizon, Simic biomancer
THIS POSTER IS TOO HOT
This is actually pretty neat, design-wise, but it's not a common. It's probably too strong, too - compare to Experiment One vs. a Experiment One that can turn into an untargetable Dragon.
Hero of Need2GGWW
Instant (R)
Search your hand and/or library for a legendary creature and put it onto the battlefield. That card gains haste. Then shuffle your library.
Fateful hour - If you have 5 or less life, Hero of Need can’t be countered and costs 2GW less to cast. The best heroes appear right when they’re needed most.
IIW: Cards as bizarre as Divine Intervention, or creatures based on mythological creatures never seen before in Magic
Haste isn't green or white (green only as a teritary effect) but I like where you're going with this -the fateful hour gives it neat flavor. It also should be a sorcery - nonbo with the haste, there.
Woodland Familiar1G
Creature - Squirrel R
Hexproof
At the start of your first main phase, add G to your mana pool. t:Creature spells you cast cost 1 less until end of turn. G: Woodland Familiar gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
1/1
Firecat Familiar1R
Creature - Elemental Cat
Haste
At the start of your first main phase, add R to your mana pool. t: Instants and sorceries you cast cost 1 less until end of turn. R: Firecat Familiar gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
1/1
IIW: Big Brothel is Watching You
These designs just feel so wordy and so out of place that I don't know what to say about them. Elegance, pstmdrn, elegance!
Glimmer Moppet(G/W)
Creature - Ouphe (R)
Glimmer Moppet deals damage to creatures in the form of +1/+1 counters.
3/2
IIW: ouphes and/or power 3 with cmc 1
I'm not sure what to think of this card, to be honest! It feels like a red card to me - it dies whenever it hits a creature but devastating on an empty board. Definitely cute.
Sutured Vision1GU
Creature - Homunculus (U)
Undying (When this creature dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a +1/+1 counter on it.)
When Sutured Vision enters the battlefield, proliferate. (You choose any number of permanents and/or players with counters on them, then give each another counter of a kind already there.)
2/2
IIW: A cross to bear alone
A 2/2 that comes back to life as a 4/4, using a keyword action. Cute! Definitely a solid design.
Clash of the TitansR
Enchantment {U}
If you would scry, you may instead clash with an opponent.
Whenever you win a clash, Clash of the Titans deals 2 damage to the loser.
IIW: A new mechanic for Born of the Gods.
I admit I've never played with clash, but this design feels haphazard and narrow. It only has a use when you're scrying, and it's /only/ useful when you're scrying. The reward also seems small - two damage, and you shouldn't be pulling tricks like these if you're playing a red deck anyways.
Release the Kraken4UU
Sorcery {R}
Search your graveyard, hand, and/or library for a Kraken card and put it onto the battlefield. If you search your library this way, shuffle it. Clash with an opponent. If you win, return Release the Kraken to its owner's hand.
A solid clash design, but it's nothing to write home about. Feels like a textbook clash design.
Karn's Charm2
Instant
Choose one — Target noncreature artifact becomes an artifact creature with power and toughness equal to its converted mana cost until end of turn; or target artifact creature becomes a copy of target creature until end of turn; or put a 1/1 Construct artifact creature token onto the battlefield.
IIW: Colorless noncreature, nonartifact spells
Would make the 1/1 artifact token into a 2/1 just to make it more relevant. Also breaks a design taboo. Really, charms aren't good design material, and this doesn't particularly blow me away, so you're not going to win this round.
Stinger Charm :1mana::symg:
Artifact
When Stinger Charm enters the battlefield, choose one - Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature; return target creature card in your graveyard to your hand; or Stinger Charm deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
The idea would be "primary, secondary, tertiary", or "getting more artifacty each step."
See above to the guy I said charms aren't good Magic design. Has direct damage in green. Nothing worth writing home about.
Element of LaughterUR
Legendary Enchantment - Element (R)
At the beginning of your upkeep, draw a card for each Element you control.
At the beginning of your end step, discard a card at random.
Release the Hornets1G
Instant {U}
Release the Hornets deals 1 damage to target creature or player. Clash with an opponent. If you win, return Release the Hornets to its owner's hand.[/QUOTE
Geistclash1UU
Sorcery (U)
Put target creature you don't control on top of its owner's library, then clash with that creature's controller. If you win, return Geistclash to its owner's hand.
Block Out the Sun5GGG
Sorcery [M]
Put thirteen 1/1 green Hornet creature tokens with flying onto the battlefield tapped.
Flashback 7GGG The fighting between the living and the undead paused just long enough for both sides to witness the army of wings and stingers block out the sun.
IIW: Hornets

The most infuriating thing here is that Kank is right, even though his arguments and methods are completely asinine.
Shiftstorm ElementalRR
Creature - Elemental U
Vanishing 4
~ gets -1/-1 for each time counter on it.
5/5
Quote from Kankennon »
Since the fulcrum vs Void show, fulcrum has sat back trying to stay under the radar and has tried to slowly and carefully foment mild touches of distrust in each other while not taking a stand against anyone herself. Now that is one massive character shift from fulcrum's Day 1 smashing of Void's head into the wall.
****storm Elemental1BG
Creature — Elemental Horror [R]
Whenever a creature card is put into a graveyard from anywhere, put a +1/+1 counter on ****storm Elemental. 2BG, Sacrifice ****storm Elemental: Each opponent loses life equal to ****storm Elemental's power.
2/2
IIW: Jokes of bad taste
Quote from fulcrum »
If Kank thinks I am going down without one hell of a fight, he is sadly mistaken.
Shirtstorm Elemental
Artifact Creature - Elemental
Flying.
When Shirtstorm Elemental enters the battlefield, each player puts seven artifact - equipment tokens onto the battlefield under his or her control, with "Equipped creature has +0/+1" and "Equip :3mana:", and attaches each to a random creature he or she controls.
Each creature with 3 or more equipment attached to it can't attack.
3/3
I've never understood why you guys have a synonym for poop that is somehow a far worse word. Does it imply something else? some sort of consistency or color?
Quote from fulcrum »
How am I supposed to mislynch people when they just turn around and claim power role? Agh.
You're welcome.
IIW: A3 hilarity
Seeing as there is a tie vote between AsianInvasion and Polendino, let's bring up the two entries for me to look at..
AI: I feel like the design is fairly elegant, and would do well as a foil for enemy colored commanders.

Sorry, Johnny cards are difficult to rate since they're so narrow and I can't be bothered to highlight what cool interactions this card creates.
A cool way to accelerate everything until someone wants it to stop. At first I didn't like this but as I read the card I could see some uses for this in EDH, for example. Not sure where to judge it on the design angle, to be honest.
Gotcha is a bad mechanic, and it's strictly better than Divination. Not terribly innovative design-wise!
THIS POSTER IS TOO HOT
This is actually pretty neat, design-wise, but it's not a common. It's probably too strong, too - compare to Experiment One vs. a Experiment One that can turn into an untargetable Dragon.
Haste isn't green or white (green only as a teritary effect) but I like where you're going with this -the fateful hour gives it neat flavor. It also should be a sorcery - nonbo with the haste, there.

Parasitic and insular mechanic. Not a fan.
So you're effectively nulling your first 2 damage with this guy. Cute design but not a huge fan.
Winner: I had it between KageHamasuta and Cythare, and on the basis of IIW I'm going to give it to KageHamasuta!
Next challenge: Non-legendary wedge cards.
I will award bonus points if your card particular ticks me off (because I'm not a huge fan of cute cards)
