I agree with Izor. I think an extra sentence for cards that are good in archetype cubes or larger cubes isn't too much trouble. It would make life a lot easier for new cube players who are looking to support archetypes.
Edit: I also think trying to satisfy everyone by adjusting ratings based on potential archetype/individual cube synergies is a bad idea. Give something a bad rating but write something like, "This is a staple card if you are looking to support X theme in your cube".
I don't know why I still have it in my cube. I think I was thinking about including a couple of delirium cards. If there are enough acceptable delirium cards after Eldritch Moon is completely spoiled I might include it.
How do people feel about Broken Fall? If you dislike it, what do you suggest as an alternative? I am thinking it really only becomes super attractive in a cube where enchantments matter.
I love it in my casual Enchantress Deck as it gives me free cards and protects my ludicrously sized creatures like Endless Wurm. In a pauper cube it gives potential protection to all your creatures without risking a two for one and the high cost is a little offset by the threat alone. You might not have to cast it compared to having a similar spell hidden in your hand. It seems quite playable in slower grindier decks.
I guess the evasive auras are pretty unfun when combined with hexproof; the reason I removed Whispersilk Cloak. I do like them for enabling some blue shenanigans though. I'm currently running a compromise by watering down removal whilst keeping in a Slippery Bogle and a Primal Huntbeast. Both those creatures are also beasts which has some slight synergy with Wirewood Savage and Advocate of the Beast.
They can also be bounced and flickered for more lifegain. In black I would prefer Vampire Envoy most of the time.
Whilst tweaking my cube into its current form I had Moldgraf Scavenger included. I think I will wait for the full release of Eldritch Moon before I consider delirium cards again.
My main question, that is realted to most cards I listed here: "What do you think of the risky high power, low toughness hexproof creatures (Sacred Wolf, Conifer Strider and Whirlwind Adept) in addition with an evasion and protection package?"
In watered down cubes I really like the low toughness hexproof creatures as it pretty much makes it a requirement to enchant them before they become super effective. I feel this is a great way of balancing the power of hexproof in pauper. It also opens the door to a lot of evasive support spells as well.
I love the flavour and the artwork, but there are just superior versions of this card in white for one less mana and in other colours you would way prefer the cheaper/better creatures on offer with the same stats that don't offer lifegain.
Aqueous Form is a very cheap and effective aura, especially for hexproof creatures. Alexi's Cloak should read 'counter target removal spell and target creature has shroud'.
I've also got a soft spot for Flight of Fancy, but I realise it is unlikely to make it into a powered 360 card cube. I like it because it won't be prioritised by someone heavily in blue which leaves it open for other colours, particularly red or green. Drawing two cards and gaining evasion for a creature seems like a pretty sweet deal.
I would also consider including some more deathtouch combat tricks in various colours to help counter the hexproof creatures.
What do people think of this cheap black aura: Vampiric Link?
A card for lifelink is always tempting, especially in a cube with more conditional removal or less removal overall. It can also be used to blank your opponents worst threat. It seems solid for more controlling decks.
I agree. My cube is in a major state of flux right now and I am thinking of dropping the Coalition Honor Guard due to it being such a prick of a card. The legionnaire is great; without being a buzzkill.
In a powered pauper cube with all the scariest removal I can definitely understand not being crazy about him, but even in that environment there is plenty of tokens in Green and Red. He seems like a fantastic deal with only one sacrificed creature required to make him great value.
Where do you find out about online uncommon to common changes? Five minutes of googling didn't help. Rally the Peasants seems awesome in the right deck.
I've only drafted my cube in its current form three times and one of those times it was only five people. I have been happy with the removal. It isn't as overbearing as I suspected. The only doozy was the five man draft where someone managed to get into mono-red with virtually all burn. I've toyed with the idea of modernising my cube to include the expensive removal, but at present it doesn't seem too over the top. The only problem is that red struggles to fill it's quota without a lot of burn.
A mate of mine was asking why I don't have more global enchantments in my cube. I love Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora in multiplayer games and Soul Barrier brings back memories of my introduction to Magic during 5th edition. I feel both are too sideboard heavy, which is a personal preference I try and avoid. Those two cards aren't examples of it, but I generally don't like cards that specifically counter a certain deck but won't be main deck material as well.
In a lot of situations Rhystic Study works like a Winter's Grasp or a Mana Leech. If your opponent is casting a lot of cheap spells per turn then it goes up in value. It is a card your opponent has control over though and the only time you will get a card is when it is really worth it for your opponent.
