Possible. One of Old Phyrexia's greatest weaknesses was its over-reliance upon its master Yawgmoth and the means and ends associated with B mana. Yet there are costs to being leaderless as well and you may be correct in the inference.
New Phyrexia is more diverse in its mana base and colour philosophy, but it is currently lacking a multi-coloured leader that can unite all of its individual parts (including Red). Maybe this is a feature, and not a bug but there's pros and cons to either strategy.
Maybe Strixhaven will provide further clues as to what (and who) we're dealing with here?

it’s blue when opened how can it be the planar bridge when the one vorinclex enter to go back was red
it (might) mean(s) either jin-Gitaxas cracked it he may have repaired menarch planar bridge or someone else is father/mother of machines who made it happen
I really wish we could use the colour and shape of the portal to discern who arranged all of this, but I mean, WotC can't even seem to get their Story Spotlights to accurately reflect the story canon as written by the Story Team, so I'm suspicious of the idea that they'd pay any closer attention to finer details such as a portal's pattern and colour.
I hope I'm wrong.

I enjoyed the Final Battle story and if I have much criticism, it's not directed at this particular story, but rather WotC's failure to accurately depict the story through the cards. Kaya, Tyvar and Niko were fun to read here, though I'm still confused as to the persuasive logic Tyvar used to persuade his brother to aide rather than war against the current roster of gods.
From one strategic point of view, the battle was a perfect opportunity to deal a terrible blow to the Skoti.
I would have loved to see Narfi's face when the Cosmos Serpent invaded his realm, and would love to see a D&D campaign that had as its goal the search for and rescue of Valki.
The story team is getting better at telling stories on paper, now they just need to do better at showing that via cardboard.

I enjoyed the Kay and Niko articles, though admittedly in the Niko article it was difficult to keep track of everyone's names at times.
Edit: is it just me or is it weird that there is made no mention of Rat nor Teyo?
As much as I'd like some elements of the War of the Spark Novels retconned, I feel as though the sudden shift here into the new story feels a little jarring. While I'm glad that Rat is not on the plane with Kaya I think the story could have explained better how the trio parted ways for a time, and acknowledged that the three of them still had a close working relationship.
I like Rat as a planebound resident of Ravnica, and as a character I like Teyo even more and would prefer they remain in the lore somehow, and in Teyo's case become even more active. I however suspect that WotC are still trying to figure out how what elements to keep or throw away from the Novels.
I think this a weakness of having outside authors come in and work on stuff without being really able to talk to each other. They definitely had a lot smoother transitions as to why the characters where going to certain planes when it was done in house (like setting up Ixalan as far back in Zendikar).
So far we doesn't know where/when she got paid (my gut says Ashiok or Tibalt if we are revealed who it is) and so that leaves some time unaccounted for. I'm guessing Kaya and Teyo (wth Rat) went back to Ravnica to re-group with the gatewatch, a bit of time passed and Kaya got this job and (said in the text) figured it be a quick easy hero job.
That makes a lot of sense. I don't know if anyone from WotC actively ever goes on here to discretely look for feedback but I hope that this would be a weakness that they can ameliorate in the future.

I'm at a loss for words as to the potential invasion of Kaldheim by
New Phyrexia
. Strangely enough, if done right I think this could be an amazing way to advance the plot while giving our Viking- 'Tribes' something to help unite them against a common threat.
I am also perfectly ok with the idea of the entire plane 'going to hel', so to speak and a Ragnorak purge of their plane being foretold and required in order to cleanse the plane of invaders. Newly beloved populations and persons could even take refuge in maybe the last Realm to not be yet tainted by
New Phyrexia
as the other nine realms are cosmically torched and renewed.

Sooo, did annyone notice the conspicuous presence of the Undead behind that pic of a Demon?
That's why Kaya's here I bet.
I'm not too familiar with Norse but don't the sprits of Valhalla return from the dead to fight? That might explain the spirits on the plane. I do know there are zombies in Norse myth with the draugr.
I think so?

This is the most welcome signal I have seen so far from the Storyline team in navigating a new (or newly reformed)direction for the lore.
While I acknowledge the costs this policy will have upon MtG players in less liberal or socially democratic countries, I am positively stoked for what this means for the game itself.
I would also not be surprised if many MtG players in these kinds of countries are a force for positive change in their respective countries. I could of course be wrong.
My only nitpick here is that I wish the company acknowledged the corporate decision in retconning and downplaying Chandra and Nissa's relationship, not Weisman's, as they kinda threw him under the bus by not fully acknowledging their role in the controversy and that they had indeed made a mistake.
Overall, I see myself buying more MtG as a result of this decision and believe it to be something to celebrate.

And again, we know next to nothing about the story yet.
Feel free to contend an argument authentically Tiro, but please do so through reason, and by carefully weighing not only the 'bad', but also the 'good'.
There is so much that is good re: Kaya, and even more good to look forward to in Kaldheim.
No one is forcing you to change your mind, but should you go on another hateful attack as you previously did swinging into this thread, you will likely be reported for flaming.
Here's the Theros story: There is a vaguely warm world that you won't get to see, because Planeswalkers arrive to overshadow all its characters, including its gods, so it ends up being a snowy backdrop for how Elspeth is a better mage than any others, because she has a Spark. You know, that thing that confers no inherent advantage other than to travel, but here she is, breaking the metaphysical rules again, because Planeswalkers. After you're convinced she matters more than Theros, we'll be on to Tarkir/Ikoria.
It won't be a snowy backdrop if it's a warm world. Glad you got the gist of it though.
Which is what exactly?
I could be wrong but I don't think @Mullerornis's response was given in support of your overall argument.
Why the negativity mate? You have a new Thassa, another Jace, Arixmethes, several new sea monsters, some of whom are legendary.
Why not celebrate Kaya?
Oh I love the game, many amazing cards in the last few years, this year included - it's the lore I think is in serious need of attention, with the first promising step being the return of weekly story articles written by the in-house creative team. I think the community in general is still reeling from Nic Kelman, War of the Spark, the idea that original Ravnica characters were killed off or displaced in favor of Planeswalkers (and the grave overall errors that entire series introduced to the lore) and Kaya breaking fundamental planeswalking rules just to shove Rat into the story (I don't find Jiang and his dog to be a break, for the record - but Kaya, I didn't like). My issue is a Vorthos lore concern, not one with the game itself. Theros Beyond Death, the new Jace card, Arixmethes and Sea monsters are all the reason I love this game (don't forget Brinelin) but those are the cards, I think a lot of people in the Kaldheim Rumor Mill thread are showing apprehension about Kaya showing up just to kill off some newly introduced character on our first visit to this plane, which is lame if true, because I personally find Legends to be part of a plane's identity, and I am not fond of them dying in place of Planeswalkers all the time, like Avacyn for example. They shouldn't be killed just to make a PW look like a badass. That said I am glad they left Heliod. Killing him would have ruined Theros. His meddling and the tension he brings is amusing.
Characters need to be able to die. I only regret that War of the Spark didn't kill more known characters. High stakes in storytelling is important, where death, sacrifice and loss means something.
Kaya is a ghost assassin. That's her schtick. If she killed off characters that were known and beloved the critics would then express umbrage over that.
As strange of a concept as it may seem, other people have their own things that they love about the game.
It was a treat during our return to Theros to read every Tiro rush of excitement for the things that everyone knows Tiro loves.
We're not asking for much. Just a little reciprocity would be nice.
It's perfectly ok to critique story-telling in a measured, but authentic way; examining what one liked and didn't like so much in a forum of discussion and debate.
But we literally have next to zero info regarding Kaldheim's story, so we really don't know how much of Forsaken's mishaps will still hold true, and regardless, none of these concerns were adequately expressed in the previous tirade on this particular thread.
It just read as a de-legitimation of Kaya.
