If I understand this correctly, we either make a legendary artifact that's been stolen (simple concept) or... a legendary character that's dead? Or about to die? Wouldn't making a 'murder' card be more of an instant/sorcery thing (i.e. representing the act of the murder)? I'm just trying to get the challenge from the creature point of view.

I'm guessing the artifact/creature we create will be stolen/killed at some point in a later round. What I'm curious about is, by history, do you mean MTG lore history or character/story history of the card?
The artifact represents the stolen item. The creature represents the murder victim. I'll make this clear.
(2/3) Viability: The words “defending player controlss” is unnecessary. If you want a creature to block, it shouldn't matter who the defending player is.
Avalanche Tusker gives precedence to "target creature defending player controls" as wording. There are slightly older cards with the alternative wording (Feral Contest), but I believe that that would not render my wording objectively incorrect.
Strange. I looked for cards that forced blocking and that never showed up.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
@TriceDefied: I might very well be wrong about the power level, what I wrote is just my impression and I haven't done any playtest. As I often say, playtest would be needed.
@Moss_Elemental: I brought it up earlier this month that I was willing to host March. I still am. Should I just go ahead and post the judge signup thread? Are there any objections?
Go for it. No need for my permission.
