To me Rancor and Bonesplitter are both P9 material, but Morningstar is a little worse than Bonesplitter (dk if P9 or not).
Of course +2/+2 is better than +2/+0, but Morningstar is way more expensive and even if your equiped creature dies, with Bonesplitter you can always equip for only 1 to the next guy.

We now have Aim High so both should be borderline. Don't underestimate the +2 power though, it's key to make any creature trade (or overcome) most creatures in a regular cube.

Crazy Idea: Why not replace (or add to) the evaluate everything proyect with a 'rank everything proyect' where simply there is a 'top 5', 'top 10' and a 'top 15' for each colour+cmc category (not every top for every category, some will have only top 5+10 and others only top 5)?
That way a beginner will know more easily which cards are considered the best in each slot to start a cube from scratch; and every time a new expansion is released, we simply discuss if a card deserves to enter the tops.
It seems to me that this metodology avoids discussing thousands of cards that are between 'terrible' and 'worst-borderline'.
Also it seems a lot easier to make an ordinal caracterization of cards (this one I prefer over this one, basically what we do all the time in the This-or-that thread) than to put a cardinal number on every card that is released based on more-or-less arbitrary categories (terrible-bad-border-cub-etc).

Shrivel is bad on aggro because black has lots of evasive 2/1 that would die, and is bad on control because there are lots of better removals and board wipe's.

It's super versatile without losing efficiency. You can kill up to 4 creatures with one card (best case scenario), but you could also kill most combinations of creatures'resistances with it, for example 2 2/2 creatures, or a 3/1 and a 3/3, etc. Plus, you could throw it all to the face given the case.

The first has sorcery speed and is vulnerable to enchantment removal, but is a clock on itself.
The second one only grants a permanent -2/-2 (no clock), but is instant speed and if you have some counters on your deck, can be very interesting.
Considering that nowadays there are some more cards with counters in typical cubes, should the Grim Affliction be a Bad card, whereas Stab Wound is Stapple? I don't see that much distance. Do you?

I think Rescind should be borderline, not bad. The Cycling really makes it better than Regress, because you can play it early bouncing a land to slow your opponent, and in lategame if you draw it and don't have anything relevant to bounce, you can just get another card. It's sooo versatile.
And with Boomerang, Capsize, Resounding Wave and maybe Recoil and Temporal Spring, you have a mini-archetype of Land Disruption.
