After a few recent users have posted decks from their cube drafts, I thought this "Post your deck from your latest draft" thread might be appropriate now that our community is expanding. =D
I like the extort dudes even though it's off-theme. Probably need more removal, I guess. If it's not obviously a common it's probably because it was a common in some obscure set like ME3.
Pauper Tribal? That sounds and looks awesome. I have no experience with tribal cubes, though, so I wouldn't be able to tell what was worth cutting and what was worth keeping. D=
Heavy Ballista always perks my interest whenever it inevitably comes up. I don't think I have room in my cube for another 4drop, but I might be able to cut Kor Sanctifiers for it. It does seem veeery good.
So if I'm tweaking my pauper tribal cube, I was wondering: Wu Longbowman was a common in ME3. It's a soldier and one of a precious few blue ones. It's also strictly worse, otherwise, than any of the usual 2U tims. Would it be the suck to run him?
In terms of the common in ME part, it really comes down to your decision. It's fairly arbitrary; the important thing is to stay consistent with your own choices.
Of course, it is really quite worse than Prodigal Sorcerer. Does the Tribal support make up for that?
The first spoiler season since the opening of this subforum is upon us. Time to discuss some sweet sweet multicolor action at the new spoiler thread I just opened for DGM.
Let's move any further discussion to there to keep all the spoilers in one place.
I imagine most people's red spell sections are just pretty much all removal right?
To be fair the "removal" is burn, which makes the red aggro decks tick.
On the topic of removal, I agree that there are certainly prevalent decks around that value threats over removal. I've lost to quite a few, including this weird (but potent) 5-color mess that just spewed out threats in my latest draft. Removal is still a really important part of our decks, especially as a vital component of the U-based control decks that need it to keep up against the more aggressive decks.
As an side note, I think there might be a tad too much removal in black. That remains to be seen.
You only have each 1 blue and 1 black creature with power +3. I don't see Shoreline Ranger or Dauthi Marauder as medium threats, when they are just about to kill you.
Fair enough. I agree with Rubin, though, in that the potential for pump/equipment to throw it off is my main issue with it. It's bad enough removal that being green doesn't redeem it for me.
It's not the same. The Growth is simply better. Of course it's not staple, it's still just a combat trick, but maybe one of the top 3 combat tricks, green got after Vines of Vastwood. Giant Growth ≈ Groundswell.
Trample is simply not worth cc1 on a combat trick.
Maybe. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong, especially since I haven't had experience with Giant Growth in a while. I've simply had some good times with Predator's Strike in the aggressive decks, like GW. Being much easier to hold mana for the GG probably is enough to push it over.
That slot is probably going to be replaced with Wildsize either way.

That deck looks awesome. Calcite Snapper for the win.

I'll bite. What card is this?
I'm not sure I would want to play it, though. Wordmail seems a bit better just because it's cheaper.
