So 5 mana for an 8/7 is more than a little excessive for one thing, and for another thing the card before it is an instant. If you attack making use of haste it can be played like a Fog, and this doesn't get you those +1/+1 counters.

If you target it, it just takes 3 damage and lives. If you target anything else, it copies for everything, and all of those copies are in turn redirected to it. This goes on infinitely, until you sac it and burn the original caster for arbitrarily large damage.
I would like to have thrown in some kind of Achilles heal to make things easier for the next person, but room as at a premium so I hope next player can work with it.
