Something something fun game, something something social contract, something something old college try.
@Vez talk to me more about why you think it makes Vaimes scum? I'm understanding the idea (pushing against the Rod lynch) but I'm not really seeing it.
Ruma's ISO was uninteresting. Lot of poking at Highroller over what largely seemed to be style differences. Reinforced my he isn't drawing attention to himself scummread.
Also this post being followed by this one is gross.
Discussion of Rodemy's early actions is actively harmful. I dislike it on principle because it is rooted in questions about the rules, as opposed to actions. Further, at this point it's a smokescreen. We have perfectly good reasons to vote Rodemy without paying any attention to those actions. I think scum is using this as an excuse to deflect away from Rodemy.
Yeah this isn't productive. It's obvious what you're trying to bait me into saying.
Which is exactly what my post says. In the first place.
If you want to run with this push then go for it but own it instead of trying to coach my line 60 minutes style. Push me for what I'm saying not what you want me to be saying.
There is a difference between "I'm having doubts about x" and "I'm not sure if n is evidence telling me I'm wrong about x."
That's not what I've said or been saying. I think he's scum because other things. I'm torn over whether I should read the defeastism and lack of counter wagons as a sign that I'm wrong. That's why I said I was torn over the defeatism.
I think I've decided the defeatism is not alignment indicative one way or the other. But I would like more discussion about it because it feels like it should be.
Rodemy has been defeatist for multiple pages now, and you’ve been - your words - calling for his blood. What about now makes things any different?
Go read my ISO I've been talking about that exact issue for a while. I was the first to bring it up (in the context of where are the counter wagons). It's weird, as either alignment. I think it's a scum reaction but it's strange as either. It's why I went into depth on why it was weird.
@Highroller ignoring the hedge do you disagree with the analysis underneath it? Anyway it's easy to be shameless when you have nothing to be ashamed of!
Fuwa reread done. She has 1.5 ridiculously scummy posts (for the same reason in fact!) but otherwise actually reads reasonably well. She's not exactly present but she's doing thing that feel like they are in the right direction. That said the readslist in 371 is terribad. Atog having a town read is not a good look at all. Then in her most recent post Rhand pointed out the problems with it pretty well. I'm only giving half credit though because by her standards it's actually a decent amount of effort which is a town indicator.
I have a scorching hot take that I only like 40% believe but that 40% wants to scream about it badly. But going with a disciplined approach as boring as that is.
I think I like Vaimes reaction to Highroller questioning him about his Gozer stance.
I'm so torn on Rods defeatism here. As many have said what the heck is the scum team doing if he's scum but at the same time the few check ins he's had have felt really anti spew. He's replying to mentions but not really taking any initiative at all. I don't really know who his reads are at all.
Gozer stuff: I believe a tie will be randomized which is how this sort of ability is resolved in case of a tie. As a result I'm voting to deny the destroyer form as it sounds killy. I'm largely indifferent on traveler vs gozerian.
Reread didn't happen at all because work was insane but they're coming soon.
At work today but the plan is to do my due diligence to make sure I don't prefer lynching Fuwa, Ruma, or someone else to Rod. Expect quote walls to follow.
@Terry: You either misunderstood or are misrepresenting my argument. I think Highroller is town because he's (confidently) wrong about things. There is no "backdoor" there. Voting people for being wrong isn't a thing. And I'll disagree with the idea that I'm belittling his play. I am saying he's mistaken in his assumptions, I'm not saying he's playing poorly.
Further: the "super strong case on Rod" is his actions after the wagon started. Rodemy's extreme shutdown is caught-scum paralysis. He's ceased interacting with the game - he's not even voting anyone. Rodemy's usual aggression is absent. I voted him when I started to see that manifesting; I "didn't bat an eye" before that because it hadn't yet become clear.
Nah, it’s a bandwagon vote on rod.
You say that like it's a bad thing. I'd argue Rod is super deserving of bandwagon votes at this point. He's done nothing to even attempt to clear himself when he's staring down the barrel of a lynch.
And he's paying enough attention that he answered my question on what he conceptualizes tom's scum game as but didn't offer any thoughts on his wagon despite multiple promptings.
Also just for the record I also was shading Highroller's claim idea's and diminishing the PM slip stuff while calling him town. Granted I'm not widely being town
It's not just about activity for him. It's tone and aggressiveness (may I dare say, sassiness?). Low activity accompanied by weak/vague stances would be a scum indicator, but right now it's just activity and I've seen him less active than this as town.
*slowly vanishes*
Until I voted him I definitely thought the sassiness as you called it was missing. He's just not mixing it up that much. Which is unlike his town game.
Interesting that we basically agree on the meta but disagree on the conclusion.

@Rod can you give a reads list?

Or if you prefer defending a player he always wants to lynch from a scum read.
I know I held off on calling tom scum in pirates because he was the loudest voice town reading me. I was however scum in that game.
To me that fits perfectly in the manipulate the flow part you described.
