But after "rather", in a sentence starting with "You may [PAY COST]", "than paying [CARDNAME]'s mana cost" IS the only possible addition

I think it's pretty balanced. I just don't know why it just doesn't cost 1U. I mean, if you Black Lotus than this and Ancestral, play the land and a Mox and do some random other broken stuff it's overpowered, but the second ability will rarely work ( except you when you had 10 mana and played Obliterate ).
