So we can say there is a concensus that Manamorphose is great at helping with delirium (getting an instant into yard is one big argument against noninteractive matchups) and thinning the deck.
My next update will likely include the addition of the card into the deck then.
I personally think, you should go for a 4c build as hard as you can. It just makes the manabase and the SB slots alot less restrictive.
If the meta is more grindy, I would go for white. If the meta has more combo/big mana in it, I would go for blue. Its more or less similar to a switching process between Abzan and Jund, if you know what I mean.
I personally never liked Ghor Clan at all. Even not in the orginal build. Its just not a TBR.
Ranger is a card I also did have not amazing experience with. Been liking the Hazoret loads more there.
I will include the articles in the primer, thanks for sharing them!
Also, I am currently quite busy with other primers, but this one will get a little bit of polish and updated SB guides as soon as I am finished with my other work.
I get the appeal of Manamorphose, but its not simply better and always free. Its sometimes a little bit tricky and there is more to it. Just imagine a case where we want to turn 2 discard and hold up Push. You have to decide between Push and Manamorphose then basically. Unless you give up casting the discard spell.
IMO if you fill up the deck with too many cantripping cards and reduce the amount of actual threats, you will more often loose to yourself by spending too much time cantriping to actually finding a threat. Thats the same problem Grixis DS has from time to time. I dont like the idea of cutting Flayers for that reason.
Thats the problem with delirium. Depending against which deck you are up against you can miss on types in the graveyard more likely or not. For example against any creature based decks (like Humans, Affinity, CoCo) you can miss on Creature as your type, since they all don't run much removal and or only Path.
Against any control deck you can miss on instant, since you will likely not cast your removal spells to kill a creature.
The only 2 types which are consistant and probably not depending on the matchup are Land and Sorcery. Additionally, there are some draws that help with Creature and Artifact (Street Wraith and Bauble) but they aren't guaranteed.
Sometimes you get your Street Wraith and Bauble and you have delirium, but sometimes you have Street Wraith but no Bauble and playing against Control and therefore miss on Instant, sometimes you have Bauble but not Street Wraith and are up against low removal decks and missing on Creature and so on.
And besides all this, I did not consider sideboarding yet. By changing any significant types of cards into another, it could also heavily affect your ability to get delirium. A simple example would be matchups where you want to trim on discard. That way you will less likely have a Sorcery in your graveyard.
The thing is, delirium is kinda swingy sometimes. You can get nut draws and kill every opponent so fast and effectively that nothing would be able to stop you. And other times you don't draw into creatures and don't have delirium to find creatures.
When playing this deck, one must be aware of that. If thats not your playstyle and prefer more consistancy, then other decks are probably better to play.
I'm 200% sold on Hazoret over Ranger in this deck. She's explosive, surprisingly good against Lantern, is a huge trump in the mirror, and is just generally a pain to deal with. She does die to Path and Dismember, but your opponent usually has to fight through some number of Goyfs and Shadows before you play her, so I've had good experiences with her surviving to end the game. The combination of Goyf/Shadow, Hazoret, planeswalkers, and Lingering Souls makes this deck very difficult to answer post-board in grindy matchups.
Ah gotcha was unaware - definitely support the change then, 2 Tomb doesn’t need to exist when they’re going to GQ it for a Forest anyway
Feels pretty bad to open with Forest and a bunch of discard spells though eh?
That happened numerous times in the first version of Jund DS for me, not gonna lie, I hated it. And thats one big issue I have with running basics. You kinda have to due to mana denial, but a forest hurts you really bad sometimes.
I feel this matchup must be abysmal for them, I would basically even like to have Stubs in this, but I think there is sooo much you want here between main and side, that Stubs are prob the worst alongside Lili (too slow) and TBR doesn't matter that much here. Decay doesn't hit Inkmoth which is the most problematic card and there is enough removal. Maybe you want Counter instead of Souls though, but SOuls is soo amazing against Infect that I would play it over coutners.
How are you gonna cast Staticaster without Grave?
Ah yeah my bad. Guess switching Watery Grave with Swamp works.

I do also like Hazoret instead of Ranger, as well as 4 Souls. I personally am too keen on Stubs maindeck to run Souls maindeck. I also feel it would make the deck a little bit to clunky. Game 1 you basically just want to get them with TBR. And Souls aren't great in every matchup. So isn't stub ofc, but I feel its more flexible and also easier cast. It gives you more insurance to actually go for the kill with TBR game 1 for example (if you have stub as backup). But overall having 4 Souls in the 75 seems good.

Oh forgot hazoret was a she, my bad^^
Seems good, guess I give her a try!

I would personally play a fourth push over the second decay in this list.
