Being ridiculously out of the loop, I would appreciate it if someone had some numbers to support the position. Namely, what is the new player intake and what proportion are not starting with basics? An update to the active player list would be useful as well to try and take stock of how active the playerbase as a whole is at the moment, and the change that has occurred.
I tried to make a 'dual thread' setup work for Fringe, but just couldn't get it to happen. After Eco/TB's dual thread game, I see now that I probably never would have been able to get it to work like I wanted it to.
Tangentially, part of our dual-thread idea came from my discussions with AsianInvasion about doing an Inception Mafia, which was slated to be at least 4 threads. That one probably won't be seeing the light of day any time soon.
I wonder if other abbreivations would be allowed? Can you use common ones like IIRC, AFAIK, or OMGUS? How about creating new abbreivations? I can only wait with baited breath to see the ruleset.
Right now, the Council are in discussion with the League judges to work out how we can best proceed. It's not quite all wrapped up, but what I can say is that - once Chimes finishes - all Normal games will functionally become League games - they will all conform to the new Normal rules, which gives a more uniform and less complex platform from which to test and improve your skill, which will be assisted competitively through the League scoring.
The separate League PCQ will cease to exist, except for corner cases like excessive demand. In future, we want to try and integrate the League into the existing queue system (and maybe even minis), rather than have it as something separate, sitting on top of the forum.
If it's been reviewed once already, I would try and get a League judge to give it a look over. That might come in handy very shortly * mysterious handwave*
Cyberspace Mafia has ended with a Town victory. The game will be moving to the forum shortly with the full rules and setup for your viewing pleasure.
Unfortunately, we will not be running the same setup again, despite the huge initial interest. This is due to losing potential players as replacements and spectators, some unfortunate design flaws, and an overall somewhat tepid reception to the fundamental mechanics of the game. We won't rule out a "Cyberspace II" if people like the sounds of a tweaked rule set, but it is not our current priority.
Apologies to anyone who was holding out for it being rerun.
Cythare was replace due to non-response to prod, Ced395 was replace on request and Raging Levine was replaced after barely keeping up with the game, and taking too long to post after too many prods.
I thought the flavour of Doha was excellent, so I'd be keen to see a top-down game that isn't based on somewhat bastardy mechanics. Points would be cool, but are rather difficult to balance.
I wish there were a way to put the spoilers into a better list form. It looks great, but it's a bit spaced out. I'd like to be able to see the list easily at a glance, without doubling up on information everywhere. C'est la vie.
I also find it incredible how short the hosting lists are. The Normal and Specialty lists look to have halved! The price of needing a complete setup I suppose. I see some Normals which no longer count as Normal, but at least moving them to the Specialty list shouldn't be too bad, given how short it is.
Looking at the reviewers list, I'm pretty sure Pink Floyd and Manders are mostly gone from the site and are probably not around to review. Ged, Pale Mage, Dagger, Emo Pinata, Niv and Wuffles are all very inactive and should probably be indicated so. I am sure if they are available they'll be willing to help, but they are probably not a great first port of call unless you're emulating one of their games. This leaves us with rather few reviewers, which is something that should be addressed (probably in tandem with the reviewing review that should happen).
I suppose you also want to put in our new "2 reviewers" standard, since I think it was majority agreed.
Is this something someone can provide?
Replaced Out:
The Cold Monarch
Haiiro Sedai
Arianrhod
Rezombied
I imagine it will Toastboy's Normal, which will start just as soon as the league judges have given us the green light.

Even a picture without text, as the saying goes, can say a thousand words. Would they be allowed?
