If that happens, you deal with it when it happens. You can make an argument for a million things being banned because 'something might happen', but that doesn't make it right.
You guys are ridiculous. Clicking Thank You on a post is a behavior? Seriously? GTFO. How about the playerbase just ignores any use of that function? I mean Jesus Christ, you guys want Council intervention for everything these days. How about some personal responsibility/community responsibility instead?
Problem is, you can unthank a post, and it will not leave a trail if someone has unthanked your post after you thanked it. In longer games this can be a problem.
Edit: Basically see what artifice said. That's my stance on it.
Who cares? It has absolutely zero effect on the game itself.
I feel like I am just not getting whatever point you are trying to make.
Also, why would removing something like that count as 'editting' your post?
I agree with Cyan. I only see that one person (Dragonheart) considered an /out for a mini in r_0's sign-up thread. I don't think the mini signups actually had the effect that it seems to have had.
I think that there were 2 other people that tried to do the same(maybe poggydude? and some other guy), they just didn't end up doing so.
@Arn: Correct, /outing from one game to sign up for another is extremely poor form. But it's also hard to really prevent.
It still had trouble getting going the second time.
Only like four players from the original sign ups were still interested.
And a lot of people tried to jump ship into the avatar mini.
If it wasn't for the six or seven players from the other board (A Bear, Chocolate Pi, SciSolaris, Prim Intellect, etc.), it might have not fired again.
I know. But I think that is mostly due to people being unfamiliar with R0, particularly as a Mod. Zionite and Xyre's games had no trouble firing.
I feel obligated to point out that just because "Manders was secretly behind this modkill" makes a convenient narrative doesn't mean that it's true.
In particular, Cyan, I'm really not happy that you're treating tordeck as a stooge who escapes culpability only because he didn't have the presence of mind to make his own decision. Frankly I think that's even more insulting than your portrayal of Manders as the evil vizier whispering poison into his ear.
I don't have any knowledge of how the discussion between tordeck, Manders, and red_0mega went, but neither do you. Considering that, I think you're being about an order of magnitude more confrontational than is warranted.
One point that you should consider, though, tordeck, is that if you wanted to get multiple outside opinions on the situation, you would have done better to pick people who were more likely to actually have differing views. It sounds like you were already leaning to the side of modkilling poggydude, so you probably should have talked to at least one person known for being lenient so that you could better consider the other side of the argument.
Yeah, apparently I made a poor assumption. The same poor assumption that multiple people made. This is still indicative of a problem. And I'm not sure that the reality of the situation(inexperienced Mod doesn't listen to advice from experienced Mod) is any better. In the end, I guess it doesn't matter. Based on his attitude here, I don't see tordeck's next game being any different. Which means that no one will sign up for it anyway. So, problem solved.
@R0: I was not at all trying to imply that you just took MH' side. I don't think you are that kind of person. Sorry if it came across that way.
AI reviewed it, and he realized his error shortly after the game started. Reviewers make mistakes sometimes. AI is a mature guy, I know he will take a lesson from this.
You are doing a fascinating job of being completely clueless. Let me ask you this. Say that MH thought that you should give poggy another chance. And then you consulted R0 and he agreed with her? What would you have done then?
Oh I'm sorry did I offend you Cyan by wanting you to actually read before you post? My bad for thinking that was a common practice.
I've read everything that you've said. You got me on missing that you asked R0 for his opinion on the subject. Wow well done there.
You insisting that it was your decision and not MH's is laughable. You might actually believe that to be true, but you'd just be deluding yourself. This is easily evidenced by the fact that your '3rd party source' was Manders' fiance, and not one of any number of more distinguished/reputable players that were not in your game(no offense intended R0, that was not a slight against you).
Your whole attitude here is just completely overbearing. Especially considering that you defended some of Artifice' behavior in Zionite's game. You couldn't look like more of a hypocrite right now. Take my advice. Take a step back from this situation and try to look at it from an objective standpoint.

Who cares?
@DH: Why would any spectator ever do that?
It's unreal how paranoid you guys are.
Who cares? It has absolutely zero effect on the game itself.

You guys are being ridiculously nonsensical.
It doesn't even make a new post, it's basically just a like button. This was a long time coming, and I don't really see what the problem with it is.
I think that there were 2 other people that tried to do the same(maybe poggydude? and some other guy), they just didn't end up doing so.

That doesn't change the fact that it had trouble getting going, contrary to Wheat's statement.
