So I'm playing Oona against Dralnu and Intet. Dralnu runs out a Consecrated Sphinx, and I use Shapesharer to copy his Sphinx. We draw a good 20 cards EACH off each other. Then I cast Control Magic on his Sphinx. Both players scooped shortly after.
There's pretty much no reason to keep playing in a 3-player game if you're the only one not invited to the Sphinx party. It devolves into, "Hold on, let me search through my hand for an answer to what you just did because I know it's somewhere in these 40 cards...nope," looks at other guy. "Yeah I've got it," flip flip flip, "...somewhere..."
He swings for 20, putting me down to 2 (he's still at 40). I untap with just 11 mana on the board (thanks to a one-shot Primeval Titan). I Genesis Wave for 8, hitting Avenger of Zendikar, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and some lands. I drop the Gaea's Cradle that I had bounced to my hand the last turn, make another Avenger with Kiki-Jiki (13 tokens each, if I remember correctly), tap the Cradle for a bunch, Praetor's Counsel and G-Wave the rest away.
I hit a few lands and, most importantly, a Garruk Wildspeaker. Untap Cradle and another land, use the Green Sun's Zenith in my hand to get Eternal Witness for the G-Wave, cast Wort, G-Wave twice for the all but 4 cards in my deck, including Sarkhan Vol. I plus one Sarkhan and swing for well over a few hundred damage.
Side note: I had just put some newly arrived foils in the deck and that was the first time I had cast the foil Genesis Wave and used the Sarkhan Vol.
One of my silliest/coolest kills actually involves mindslaver.
We were playing multiplayer with 4 of us. Vathi Il-dal had an eternity vessel in play with a load of counters on it. Volrath the Fallen plays an Aether Snap , mainly to screw over my Memnarch deck and get the vessel as a bonus. I draw mindslaver and take over the turn of the guy with the empty vessel. His hand only contains removal but I draw a land, setting his life to 0.
I lost the game but we had loads of fun with that kill alone
At this point, Nath's Avenger comes back, he drops a Skullclamp, wipes my board, draws a bunch, gets more mana than god, and knocks me out. So I didn't win, but jumping from 12 on the board to close to 60 and knocking someone out in a turn was totally worth it.
The Avenger wouldn't come back if you killed the player with the Journey to Nowhere because he wouldn't be around to control the leaves the battlefield trigger. Maybe you should have won.
My friend once told me he doesn't like creatures because combat math is too hard for him. And every second person I meet says math is both boring and hard. You find creatures boring too, which might not a coincidence.
I think your argument doesn't hold water, given my experiences here.
He was obviously being sarcastic. I'm with him. Chill out, guys. While not the most entertaining play (quite the opposite actually), it legitimately belongs in here if the poster sees fit. Deep breaths, everyone.
Playing my sharuum deck i have a kuldotha forgemaster on board equipped with lightning grieves. also on my board are a few artifacts and arings of brighthearth... one of my opponents decides to use his Nevinyrral's disk to blow up the board.... i use the forgemaster and copy his ability with rings to fetch out...
Darksteel forge and Mycosynth lattice the game was over shortly after with my friend calling me some names for doing something so mean to win the game. but hey, it was his effect that blew up the board i was just defending my permanents.
Actually, since you can't even deal lethal or any damage for that matter, you won't trample over for any damage. The Baneslayer will just absorb all of it because trample only works if it is dealt enough lethal damage. That's why a Ball Lightning crumples to a Kor Firewalker.
It will still deal trample damage. You only have to assign lethal damage to do trample damage, not actually deal damage.
Speaking of Thieves' Auction, I remember a three-person game in which I was running my group hug chaos deck. I had a Confusion in the Ranks, Grip of Chaos and Wild Evocation out plus some other irrelevant things. I had only the Thieves' Auction in hand and there were close to a hundred permanents in play. I had just set everyone's life to 48 with an [c]Arbiter of Knowledge[c].
Luckily for the rest of the table, the player before me managed to successfully use Sorin Markov's ability to set me to 10 and then kill me. We could have had an hour in between empty stacks. Tsk tsk.

He had gotten off to a fast start, dropping a turn one Figure of Destiny followed later by an Inferno Titan and Hero of Bladehold. Needless to say I was playing catch-up.

Twenty-five to be exact. I think that's worth paying an extra 2 for your general.

No, Vernal Bloom has a regular triggered ability. So the Mana Reflection would double it to GG, and then the Vernal Bloom would add G.
