A new source of information has given very, very definite confirmation that the block following Innistrad (codenamed "Hook," "Line," and "Sinker") will NOT take place on the plane of Ravnica. It will take place in a brand-new setting.
The previous rumor that this would be the case had been based on implications by multiple sources of information that, in light of this new info, clearly had been misinterpreted. I stress that this new source of information is absolutely trustworthy, and trumps the previous rumor.

I mean, it only makes sense what with all of the information regarding 'revisiting' planes that WoTC has given us regarding Scars block.
Hook was too soon for it to happen again.

Indeed. The original rumor had been a bit dubious given that and other problems such as the similarity of the architecture between that plane and Innistrad. But, it was just plausible enough to be worth reporting on.
Rumor-mongering is not an exact science, everyone, remember that. Grains of salt all around.

Does "misinterpreted" mean that while they are planning to return to Ravnica soon it won't be Hook block? Or is the return itself a misinterpretation?
Makes Ral Zarek's and Kiora Atua's premier locales quite curious though. Granted, we're not required to see them in the next block anyway. (Dack Fayden too...)
I'm also interested in how long they're going to separate the islands of multicolored blocks going forward, since a return to Ravnica would undoubtedly entail this.

One piece of information does still suggest that the return will happen in the near future, yes. The rest appears to have been completely misinterpreted.
I figured as much. I didn't think we were going to revisit an old plane so soon. I'm glad to see this news after all the scuttlebutt going around. I'm all for new planes, and I'm curious as to when we'll catch a glimpse of what it is and its overlaying theme.
A return to Ravnica is one of those things I anticipate/dread. Of course I'd love to return, but I live in fear that it's going to wind up as a 'bad sequel'. The guilds were what MADE Ravnica, to me. With them gone, I'm not sure what could be done to rekindle our interest.

Older Magic as a Board Game: Panglacial Wurm , Mill
Fingers crossed for them to show up in M13 I guess.
That said, as much as I love Innistrad so far, I'm willing to keep an open mind about another new locale.

Shocks can be in any set.
They could have been in Innistrad.
They will be reprinted, we just don't know how soon.

Nah. It was a little dubious but still plausible enough. I wouldn't disrespect anyone who believed or disbelieved it before.

Although, this could be a good thing, and I am looking forward to something new...unless it's a return to something else.

It is definitely a brand-new setting.
R Citizen Cane (Feldon of the Third Path)
is there any other info you can give us regarding what the next plane is?

How does that follow? They have zero setting-specific flavor. Names like "Hallowed Fountain" and "Temple Garden" could appear most anywhere.

In fact, they did that on purpose so they could reprint them anywhere. They were almost in 10th Edition.
I'm calling the next block is enchantment based! *hopes*
