I'm new at this posting thing but i couldnt wait anymore so i have to tell u guys what i heard from a realible source (excuse me i cant reveal it)
flip cards are back in future sight - obivously with many many new explorations
so when i asked my friend, he said that one flip card is already revealed (Olivier Ruel's innitational), and the mechanic its an excellent way of showing the future in a card. He also said that this will work with time counters!!
Well i dont know if its the correct place to put this but i couldnt wait. sorry if i made a mistake, thanks
I always kind'a liked flip cards, but its not a Pre-Mirrodin mechanic. Does this mean that we'll be revisiting other post-Mirrodin super-happy-time-fun?

When I was young, the smallest trick of light,
Could catch my eye,
Then life was new and every new day,
I thought that I could fly.
I believed in what I hoped for,
And I hoped for things unseen,
I had wings and dreams could soar,
I just don't feel like flying anymore.
I hope so, because I'd love to have a Myr that flips into a Ninja, then becomes a Lammasu.
In all seriousness, I hope they include Mirrodin/Kamigawa/Ravnica at least a little bit in FS because I miss other planes :(. It'd be a cool concept to also be introduced to some Lorwyn stuff as well, just for a taste of what we're gonna get.
Sweet. Would love to see them press that flip mechanic to the limit. Throw in some morph ability on a flip card and you could have a creature called "Magus of Dizziness"
Do we have any proof of this so far other than his word and the invitational card? I wouldn't really mind flip cards though because I always liked them.
I think it makes sense... it gives the Invitational card a little bit more of a "fits in" feel. I doubt they'd print it as the only one... that would just feel awkward. There's probably at least a cycle of them.
I hope this is real, cause flip cards are one of the few things that were cool in kamigawa (with splice, ninjas and the whole "mortals vs spirits in a japanese setting" idea, which was a good idea but lame execution). And considering that both present and past are placed in Dominaria, according to this block, and that future blocks are most likely to be in other planes, maybe they will have FS be a mix from every plane in Magic, which could mean we could get our dimir ninja. But probably that won't happen...
if they bring back post mirrodin stuff, then they should also bring back equipment.
i miss them
I don't think they got rid of equipment, I think they just decided not to do it during Time Spiral block. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I would enjoy seeing more equipment, I liked it.
Heh. If this is true, it's kind of funny that it works out this way. FS needs a third removing time counters countdown ability (rule of three dictates). Ruel's card provides a perfect one. I expect it will be something like this:
Evolve/Mature N (This comes into play with N time counters. At the begining of your upkeep, remove a time counter from this. When you remove the last, flip it).
It kind of makes sense too. It's a bit of a mix between suspend and vanishing (as you wait N turns for the real card, but also lose the original after N turns). It showcases "future" some (in the future, this guy becomes this other guy). It can be used as both a drawback and a plus (play a really cool guy who devolves into something drawbacky or lame, or play a lame guy who evolves into something cool). Sure, we have no way of verifying this, but given what we know it makes a lot of sense. I'm inclined to believe it.
