Found this on ebay, don't think it has been brought up here. From the auction:
"MTG Planar Chaos PROMO Angel Oversize
You are bidding on MTG Planar Chaos PROMO Angel Oversize !!! Card is Large measuring 5 7/8 inches by 8 inches on thin card stock"
Just like they did the Akroma cards for Time Spiral. That really annoys me, as they're meant to be given away NOT sold. Anywho, I think this was already known, but if not, good find.
The store I go to gives them out for free.
I got a couple in hopes that they could aid in a collage or something.
In contrast to the TS Akroma, this Akroma is not printed on magic-cardstock. It seems significantly weaker and if anything is a material slightly stronger than a magazine page.
Ooooh, I too hate those that try to pass off freebies as something for sale. I'll grab whatever we have left this weekend and toss em to the site here (who can give them away as they see fit) (GIVE).

Wow. We can't give those away at our store. We had to resort to extortion in order to force on of our regulars to take the stack of TS promos, and now we're stuck with a new stack of PC!
I agree stores shouldn't sell give aways, but there's nothing wrong with a customer getting one freely and then selling it.
Yeah, we're the same: nobody wants them here. But I hate folks selling them all the same. If people in this forum want them, I say let's donate them all. It gets them into the hands of the people who they should go to anyway and out of the hands of those that would sell them to our cohorts here. JMO.

The all mighty buck/yen/euro/monetary-unit is a strong swayer of morals. The original Akroma from TIme Spiral was made on card stock but NOT with an original Magic back. Instead it had advertising. The Planar Chaos one is made on a much more poor stock and is quite flimsy. Again, it too has no Magic back - just advertsing for the set.
Our shop limits these to one per person and they're usually gone by the end the week they were released. I did TRADE an uncommon or two to obtain another one once so that I can place them both on a push-pin board. I don't in any shape or form advocate selling these and think it's sad some choose to do so.
Okay, so Joey gets a free card at his local store. Jimmy lives in a rural town with no hobby store for fifty miles and wants to buy Joey's promo card. Joey is willing to sell his, but with out compensation, he'd just as soon keep it. So Jimmy buys Joey's card.
What's wrong with this? This is no worse than any other instance of capitalism.
I am not a capitalist at heart. If anyone wants one, PM me. When I can be sure I've got one set aside from you, I'll request a self addressed stamped envelope and send you one at no cost.
