There was a death battle with this. Spiderman won because Batman lost his two greatest advantages against Spiderman, which is preparation and using the shadows to strike from.

What's the source on this? I'd be interested in reading it.
Frankly, I think Batman trumps Spiderman - even without prep time.

Mm, I don't agree with the conclusion of the video. If Batman can take on tougher opponents with less prep time, he can take on Spiderman. He was clearly the more skilled in the fight we just saw, and the video battle didn't even take into account Batman's armor - y'know, the stuff he's always wearing when he's running around as Batman. Not to mention he would have shredded the web with his gauntlets shortly after Spiderman strung him up, and Spiderman's momentum-filled launch towards Batman pretty much defied physics on impact (which, again, didn't consider the armor).

Spiderman is an untrained fighter, with only his strength and agility making up for it.
Batman is the supposedly the peak of what humans can achieve with regards to fighting skill and physical conditioning. Batman has fought stronger opponents than spiderman.
Batman wins, but it won't be easy.

I give this one to Batman.
His armor is designed to stop knives and low-caliber bullets. Spider-man can punch through concrete iirc. The all-mighty .50 BMG is notable precisely because it is capable of doing similar things. Batman's body armor cannot stop a .50 BMG.
His armor is a non-factor.
And who has Batman taken on that is as powerful as Spider-man with non or low prep time and won? All of his greatest victories, and him beating the entire Justice League in the Tower of Babel storyline, occurred precisely because he took a long time to study, analyze, and develop counter-measures. If Batman randomly ran into Spider-man and the two fought to the death then and there, Batman dies.
Batman's greatest strength has always been his ability to develop counter-measures to EVERYTHING he faces. But he needs time. A random death-match against a super-powered individual is the worst case for him.

Agree. Despite Batman's incredible training, Spider-man's super agility and spider sense would make it very difficult for Batman to hit him even using misdirection and carefully planned attack sequences. It would also be quite difficult for him to back Spider-man into a corner where he had nowhere to dodge given Spidey's incredible maneuverability. Batman's standard tactic of striking from the shadows or using smoke, etc. to obscure the battlefield also isn't going to be any use against spider-sense. Spider-man meanwhile actually does have super-strength, super-agility, and the ability to strike from range with his web shooters.
Batman is a genius level tactician, and Spidey's not exactly invulnerable, so with some time to think about it he would devise a situation where Spider-man is defeated. But if they run into each other randomly on the street, Spider-man should take him.
If Batman has time to prepare for the fight, Batman. If there is no time to prepare, Spiderman.
I know that Batman usually has a ton of gadgets and do-dads on him at all times, but Spiderman is extremely smart and crafty, and I doubt Batman wins in the end.

If someone is playing Icy Manipulator against you, you've already won.
also, Spider-Man is no slouch in the planning department, either. The difference is that Spidey tends to alter his plans on the fly and nothing is purely fleshed out.
This is certainly a closer fight than Batman vs. Superman, but hasn't Spidey demonstrated a couple times that he's got a lot more strength than he normally needs to use? I know I've seen him tossing around cars. And spider-sense pretty much negates Batman's greatest weapons of surprise and unpredictability. Well, maybe. Like Superman's senses and reflexes, its effects are inconsistent from writer to writer and story to story - sometimes Spider-Man can get blindsided, somehow. So if he's fighting Batman in one of those stories, the Bat stands a better chance.

Not taking in to account his vehical toys, batman has flying toys, Spiderman while mobile can't fly, in a no hold bars fight batman can just drop bomb after bome and eventualy eat up all the oxygen in the air to kill him while keeping himself on a self sustained breathing apreata.
Adam West Batman is the single most powerful being in the entire universe.
I mean, he'd just pick his "Bat anti spiderman spray" from the utility belt and spray it for the win
Spiderman wins. The fact is, Batman has no element of supirse in this match. He eventually will have to engage spiderman somehow and spiderman would just beat him in a fight. Spider has superhuman strength, reflexs and speed. He can easily lift a car for example.
Disagree. Batman was able to piss Darkseid off with no prior planning, and that takes a LOT. Sure, he didn't dent him, but Darkseid's a demigod, so it says something that Batman was agile and powerful enough not only to trick him, but to evade his HOMING EYE LASERS.

That sounds like total plot armor/batgod writer syndrome. Batman evaded the omega effect...? Really? The same omega effect superman can't evade and the entire gimmick of the attack is that is homes in on you from any where in the universe and hits you. But Batman was agile enough to evade it?
The fact is, Batman can't engage Spiderman at all. Spiderman is superior to him in hand to hand in basically all aspects. He can literally power out of any martial art holds or locks through he's pure super human strength, and a punch from batman or any use of "GOTCHA" gadgets will never land due to his spidey senses.
So in summary, batman is outclassed in:
Close Combat
Sneak Attacks
Strength
Endurance
Toughness
Speed
Reflexes
Humor
Spiderman for reasons already stated. Dude is strong enough to lift a car when powered down by writers, and more when powered up. With that kind of strength, combined with his super speed, and the fact that Batman like to leave his chin exposed, means an easy KO strike for Spiderman.
Batman really only wins against super powered characters because writers want him to so they come up with really stupid ways to make him win. Batman is a much more interesting character to read when he's going up against characters on the same level as him such as the majority of his rouges gallery (non-powered humans like Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, Penguin and such).
The dark knight: a billionaire that beats opponents into a pummel and has crazy cool gadgets and cars.
Spiderman: Has super powers and spidy sences has no real attack or oppose force to attack another but he can defend himself better than anyone else

After all, Spiderman is also really clever, and has actual super powers to back it up.
