Well, this another comics superheroes battle. But this time let's add some rules:
- A team has to win TWO battles to achieve victory.
- Each team starts knowing the members of the other team, except for the ones marked with *.
- Each team has one day of preparations before each battle.
- Each team can have only four participants at a battle, picked before the battle.
- Members marked with * cannot participate in a battle, unless their team has lost one battle.
- A team cannot change its participants until the battle its over.
- After one battle, each team can change its configuration for the next battle.
- If a member marked with * is present during a battle, its existence won't be hidden anymore to the other team.
- Each battle starts in the nearest rural/wild areas of New York.
So, the idea is to have something like a MTG match: you have to win two games and you have a sideboard. The members marked with an asterisk are supervillains that the heroes recognize would be helpful to beat the other team (that's why they are unknown and only can come to the battle after its team has been defeated).
Now, the lineups:
JLA
---
Aquaman
Batman
Flash
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Lex Luthor*
Martian Manhunter
Sinestro*
Superman
Wonder Woman
VS
The Avengers
------------
Black Panther
Captain America
Dr. Doom*
Hulk
Iron Man
Magneto*
Spider-Man
Thor
Wolverine
Most members of the JLA are some of the most powerful DC characters.
They are leagues above the Avengers.
JLA takes this one.
Some might argue that the Avengers can take out Superman with kryptonite, but then there is Hal Jordan and if he somehow gets defeated, then there is Martian Manhunter...oh, and also Flash who is probably more powerful then the three of them combined.
That's why this is a special kind of fight: The Avengers know who are in the other team, they have one of preparation and they can bring special help to the team. This is not only a battle of raw power.
I think The Avengers team has more genius members than JLA, and with one day of preparation, T'Challa + Dr. Doom + Bruce Banner + Tony Stark, can probably prepare a strategy.
I could see the Avengers squeezing out a match postboard, but I doubt it.
Superman, Martian Manhunter, Hal Jordan, and...does it even matter?
Versus Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Doom. Well, Doom and Thor are threats, but Iron Man is toast as soon as the suit goes down (instantly, from Supermans's first light-speed punch) and Hulk can't fly.
JLA win easyly. and in case someone would argue that the avengers would prepare for battle... duh? how about batman? he does the preparations for the JLA's mission together with martian man hunter. tactically, batman is superior than anyone in the avengers.

I think only having 4 guys in the fight really pushes this in JLA's favor.
Batman is useful for his prep time magics not so much for being a human with cool toys.... Tony Stark is a human with arguably much cooler toys. Aquaman is just dumb, and the Flash is bascially just worse than Superman. JLA have a small set of extremely powerful characters. On the other hand Avengers has a lot less super power characters by virtue of being less about crazy magic powers (Superman) and being more about just having some coolish trait that isnt normal like not being killable (wolverine) or just being a really strong human (Capt. America)

Which team would win and with what score?
Aquaman, Sinestro, Lex Luthor and probably Wonder Woman never even see the battlefield. As JLA arrogantly throws their best guys, Super Man, Man Hunter, Green Lantern and Flash at the Avengers.
Avengers desperately try to throw Iron Man, Hulk, Thor & Wolverine at the first fight.
Super Man & Hulk get in a typical brute force fist fight. Green Lantern and probably Thor engage in a fight in the air.
The Flash literally runs circles around Wolverine to the point where he can't touch him and Martian Man Hunter takes out Iron Man after Iron Man can't figure out how Man Hunter is able to create physically damaging illusions and psychic powers in time before he crushes him.
From there, Man Hunter helps Lantern subdue Thor, and Flash makes Hulk dizzy and distracted to the point where Sups can light speed punch him for the team win.
Round 2: JLA pretty much follow the same formula. As Batman has proven not to be needed yet. The other three guys on the side lines just eat popcorn.
Avengers go and recruit Magneto & Doom to take the place of Ironman and Wolverine because they need more magic power and flyers to even the odds. Black Panther, Captain America & Spider Man all bow out due to realizing that none of them can match the power of Sups, the speed of Flash, the mind power of Man Hunter or the resourcefulness of Lantern.
Round two begins and Hulk and Super Man lock up again. Magneto breaks Green Lanterns finger with the metallic ring there and makes him virtually useless. Dr. Doom is able to enact a crazy magic spell that makes it so that when Flash strikes him with his superior speed that he suddenly becomes either very slow or very ill, something sneaky and debilitating. Thor takes on Martian Man Hunter in the air but Man Hunter is still too much for him.
But with Superman distracted by Hulk, this allows Dr. Doom to use his supreme sorcerer magic to weaken Superman and allow Hulk to take him down.
This leaves us with Doom, Magneto & Hulk taking on Martian Man Hunter.
Hulk still gets taken down by the superior psychic abilities of Man Hunter. But his attention gets occupied too much by the combined psychic and mental abilities of Doom & Magneto, and he gets brought down a notch.
Round 3: Green Lantern is left virtually useless thanks to Magneto. So they bring in Batman, who's been preparing this whole time, now seeing the strategies of Doom & Magneto. Otherwise the same Dream Team of Superman, Flash & Martian Man Hunter is decided upon. This time with Flash figuring out that he can't confront Dr. Doom first and fall for the same trick.
The Avengers side keeps Dr. Doom as he's too much of a house against most of the Avengers team. They see that Batman is the JLA's new choice, and elect to keep Magneto there in order to basically render all of Batmans gadgets useless. They keep Thor around and decide that he should battle Superman due to his magic hammer and similar levels of strength as Hulk keeps slowing the team down and not being a good match for anyone but Super Man. Thus having them side board out Hulk for Black Panther in a shocker. Spider-Man argues he should be the choice, as he could slow down Flash with his webbing. Panther points out that Flash could just move so fast that he breaks apart even Spider Mans strongest webbing, and tells him to "Just Trust Me".
And thus the final battle begins.
Batman immediately attempts to disarm Thor, but as expected Magneto is able to render all of Batmans tech to crushed uselessness. Batman gets quickly disposed of without a way of really dealing with Magneto.
Martian Man Hunter & Dr. Doom engage in an epic battle in the skies of psychic sorcery. So far, it's a stale mate.
Thor and Super Man engage in the skies, and Thor definitely has the advantage, but Super Man eventually figures out how to disarm Thor with some combat trickery, and takes him out.
Black Panther faces off against Flash, who laughs his ass off at Black Panther thinking he has a chance. He engages in his super speed strikes, only for Black Panther to reveal his plan...his Vibranium Suit is indestructible due to it's implicit design and purpose of vibranium absorbs the sound waves and kinetic energy from Flashes strikes, making the metal stronger and stronger, virtually allowing Black Panther to be indestructible by comparison. Also, by using mystical shockwaves from the impact of fist on vibranium aided by T'Challas magic, he is able to cause Flash to lose his equillibrium just in time for Magneto and Black Panther to band together and take out Flash together.
We are left with Magneto, Black Panther & Doom Vs. Super Man & Martian Man Hunter.
Unfortunately after this, Black Panthers purpose was only to take out the Flash and he is virtually useless in the battle against Super Man, so he tries to aid Doom in his fight against Martian Man Hunter.
Magneto takes on Super Man, but Sups is able to resist the psychic energies of Magneto and defeats him handily once he is able to close the gap of all the projectiles thrown by Magneto.
Black Panther proves to be just merely a distraction, as Martian Man Hunter briefly turns his attention to T'Challa and blasts him out of the way. However, this momentary distraction allows Dr. Doom to get the advantage and send Man Hunter into oblivion.
Now as it's down to Dr. Doom & Super Man, the sheer Godlike magical power of Doom is just too much for the naturally weak to magic Super Man, and Dr. Doom eventually is able to wear him down despite taking a ton of damage to his adamantium armor from Super Mans desperate assault.
Winners: The Avengers 2-1. Mostly on the back of Dr. Doom.
That was awesom kraken ! You win this thread , oh and glad you agreed with my score and fact doom and magneto are key.
I dislike having the Villians in here. Especially when this is JLA vs. The Avengers. So having The Avengers basically win because of Magneto and Dr. Doom feels wrong.
The other problem I have with the Villians is while Magneto and Dr. Doom bring their own unique traits and abilities to the table. Lex and Sinestro are basically a second Batman and Green Lantern (also I personally prefer John Stewart as Green Lantern, but I digress), as they both fill the same slot. Lex and Batman as the genius tacticians with gadgets and Green Lantern and Sinestro as power ring users. I think this puts the JLA at a disadvantage.
You also have to keep in mind that I didn't use any of the hax powerful plot devices that would of brought either team over the top.
I think for this to eve be a fair fight that makes any sort of sense, you can't put the Galactic Super Powered Thor in here, or the Hulk Vs. The World Hulk that is capable of beating up Mr. Fantastic, Professor Xavier and basically everyone. You can't have Horseman of the Apocalypse Wolverine or Fully powered Magneto that can destroy you from the inside out just for having iron in your system.
On the JLA side, you can't have Super Man Prime, or a version of the Flash that is capable of creating rips in space and time due to his super speed, and you can't have the "I beat everything because I had Prep Time" Batman.
I probably should have had Sinestro in there to replace Green Lantern, but I couldn't visually justify him replacing any of Man Hunter, Superman or Flash. Well, maybe Flash after being tricked by Dr. Doom and being too sick to compete. But I still feel like Magneto probably would of been able to take out the ring of Sinestro as well.
Considering people have said before that Magneto has control over the entire elemental spectrum, and not just metal magnetism, I don't think it would matter what material the rings were made out of.
But yes, having Doom & Magneto here was the Avengers only chance. Otherwise they probably would of side boarded out Wolverine and Iron Man in favor of Black Panther & Spider-Man and still lost pretty badly 2-0 to the JLA. But going with the options we are given, Dr. Doom aided by a team of some of his greatest rivals? Definitely brings The Avengers over the top in a series of close fights.
Although honestly, you could just replace Dr. Droom with Dr. Strange and he's just as good, if not better at Magic in some ways. In that case the one that really wins this for the Avengers is still Magneto. Because of his ability to subdue Batman, Lex Luthor and The Ring Users.
Round 3: Green Lantern is left virtually useless thanks to Magneto. So they bring in Batman, who's been preparing this whole time, now seeing the strategies of Doom & Magneto.
