I've been doing a few new courses which require a lot of writing, so I was planning to finally start installing latex editors/compilers of my computers. However, I've tried a few different ones (MikTex, TexStudio), which all installed fine, but had some really vague error messages (stuff like "operation failed for some reason), which are really unhelpful. Since my first two hours of trying to fix stuff didn't pan out, I was hoping you guys know some Tex editor which works without having to go through hundreds of google results and stupid solutions to see what works.

We have laboured long to build a heaven, only to find it populated with horrors.
I've succesfully used TeXworks in the past on Windows without any problems.
Yeah. I tried that one as well in the mean time. Couldn't get it to compile either. My current workaround is a partition of Linux on my netbook on which I can actually compile them.

The only other thing I've tried is https://www.sharelatex.com/. I used to collobartively edit documents, but you could just as well use it on your own.
