I believe Knautschke answered your question adequately, but I believe it involves the fact that the opposing player has priority to respond to an action (unless I'm mixing up my cardgames) - thusly, it is a perfectly legitimate action for your opponent to do that in response, and Piracy is now a useless card due to the no-mana-burn-rule.

Also, a twisted coincidence. Joe Berti was at ground zero at the Boston Marathon and was driving on a highway near Waco for work back home in Texas when the fertilizer plant exploded not far from him. Insane to be so close to such huge events in one week and survive both unscathed.
Strange what can trigger memories reading ^ reminded me of this person unfortunate enough to be in Hiroshima and Nagaski on the days they were bombed yet fortunate enough to survive both atomic blasts.
