EDIT- I was playing the same U/g/r deck vs a monoblue control deck, which featured 3 wincons (2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor and a Sphinx of Jwar Isle), along with maindeck Back to Basics, Relic of Progenitus, Vedalken Shackles, and Pithing Needles, with Thirst for Knowledge and Fact or Fiction to draw cards. It ended up being one of the most boring games of Magic I think I've ever played.
Since Goyf was all but useless against his triad of Relics, I decided to just try and resolve a Jace of my own to win. I baited several counters along the way, and even let stuff like Vedalken Shackles and Back to Basics (I only run three basic Islands) resolve because I wanted to preserve my countermagic. Eventually, I ended up resolving Jace with less than twenty cards left in my deck after a brief conter war. I start Fatesealing away. I see a Pithing Needle and put it to the bottom. He draws another Pithing Needle and casts it, naming Jace. With all of my countermagic depleted, I was forced to let it resolve; it likely wasn't going to matter, since at that point he had ~5 cards left in his library. We draw go for a few turns, until, with 1 card left in his deck, he casts a Jace of his own. They both die, and then he casts another, attempting to Fateseal me. I remind him that Pithing Needle is in play naming Jace, and this happens:

I felt like I just wasted 30 minutes because of how the game ended. Even if Needle wasn't a symmetrical effect, he wasn't going to win anyway, since he only had one card left in his library (which was the Pithing Needle I fatesealed earlier). It's a "combo" deck that uses cantrips like Ponder and Brainstorm and tutors like Intuition to find copies of High Tide and Urza's block cards that allow you to untap a bunch of lands like Turnabout and Time Spiral. The deck consists of doing next to nothing first 2 turns then masturbating for 10 minutes on turn 3 or 4 until you can accumulate a very high amount of mana with High Tide and mill them to death with BSZ, stroke of genius was the old one.

There's a reason why you have a main chat window on Cockatrice. You should have told in the main chat what happened so people can clear things up. People ask rules questions there all the time, and the best part is that anyone can join in the game to spectate and see what's going on. It's one of the reasons Cockatrice is infinitely better than MWS.

I hate it when people won't obey the rules because it "takes too long." The "it's only five damage" argument is BS.
Diplomatic Immunity resolving is game for zur. Game. It's enough to buy them a turn to go get vanishing, unless someone Hallowed Burial's right-the-frick-then. Once vanishing is on, it's over.
Spending a minute in a casual game to... oh, I don't know, learn the stack, is a pretty good investment of someone's time.
To be fair, the Group Hug player had a good point. He's playing Pheldagrif, therefore not playing magic, therefore the whole rules debate is irrelevant to him.

It's a "combo" deck that uses cantrips like Ponder and Brainstorm and tutors like Intuition to find copies of High Tide and Urza's block cards that allow you to untap a bunch of lands like Turnabout and Time Spiral. The deck consists of doing next to nothing first 2 turns then masturbating for 10 minutes on turn 3 or 4 until you can accumulate a very high amount of mana with High Tide and mill them to death with BSZ, stroke of genius was the old one.

There's a reason why you have a main chat window on Cockatrice. You should have told in the main chat what happened so people can clear things up. People ask rules questions there all the time, and the best part is that anyone can join in the game to spectate and see what's going on. It's one of the reasons Cockatrice is infinitely better than MWS.

Diplomatic Immunity resolving is game for zur. Game. It's enough to buy them a turn to go get vanishing, unless someone Hallowed Burial's right-the-frick-then. Once vanishing is on, it's over.
Spending a minute in a casual game to... oh, I don't know, learn the stack, is a pretty good investment of someone's time.
To be fair, the Group Hug player had a good point. He's playing Pheldagrif, therefore not playing magic, therefore the whole rules debate is irrelevant to him.
