I applaud you for making the correct decision and showing some backbone and self-respect, Craven. Even though you gave me the only warning that I've ever had(that didn't get overturned), and I still think it was erronous, overall I felt that you did an extremely good job, and the site is doing itself a disservice in it's actions towards you.
Sad to see your choice Craven. At least now you can take care of important things with more attention now:(. You been around sense like forever and will be missed.
I don't care about these changes, I just have to say that Iceman8352 in standard is a great pick. I always see him giving great advice and constructive posts.

Don't mind my posts, they are probably just a product of gang violence
Well, since there already is a thread about it here:
the admins both have decided that my activities as a Global were not up to the standard they deem necessary. Thus they have decided that I should no longer hold that position, a fact that I was confronted with just a few minutes ago. I don't want to argue with that decission, but instead I go just one step further and resign as a mod in general. I no longer feel that I have the necessary support for my modding-style within the staff, and the fact that nobody has ever PMed me about any mistakes that I might have made in the past is something that plays quite a big part in my decission.
NOOOO! Craven, you were the best mod the art forums ever had. I hoped this wouldn't happen, and here it is. Best of luck to ya.
To be fair, while it's true I no longer post in Debate to any great degree (I personally felt that I'd said all that I had to say and that for the most part I was only repeating myself), I have remained a constant lurker since I stopped being a regular. Though you are certainly correct in that a third Debate mod would be quite welcome. I've already put forth some suggestions, though honestly Debate has many great members who I think would do a fine job. I actually had a tough time narrowing down my suggestions to a small, workable list.
It's not to say someone who isn't a debate regular can't be a good mod for it. Though if someone already frequents it, it'd be better for them, and they'd probably be more inclined to be vigilant, than someone who usually doesn't go in there.
Though if you often read debate threads, then there's no reason, I think, that you wouldn't be just as suited to do it as someone who posts there often.
As for the other changes, I was surprised to see that Craven's position had been changed. I'm sure many will be sad to see him go. Not to mention that as he resigns, Mr. Bloody Minded is also resigning. That's a lot of changes going on.

I doubt TIBA will have time once he joins the Army.
Ah, I see. I did not know he was joining the army. It'll be too bad to see him become less active. I wish him good fortune, though.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
Cya Craven, and I have to agree with your decision. While I dislike the loss of him, it seems like thats the most logical and best conclusion. Good job to all who received a position.

I disagree because his signature does not contain anywhere within massive font saying, "ARTIC ATTACK" and/or an animated gif thereof.
WOW congrats to all the new mods and Craven even though i only randomly see you, ill miss you on the forums... cant beat a guy with the disturbed picture..... badass avatar you have sir.
I wish you the best of luck, Craven. I never liked your style, but this just isn't the way things should go.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
I was really hoping that Craven wouldn't decide to up and leave. If that's what he wants to do obviously there is nothing I can do, but I would hope that he reconsiders and will let him know as such.
Mr Bloody Minded has left due to an unrelated string of events regarding the trading forum. I asked him to reconsider, but he said that he has made up his mind.
Quite a few forums have major vacancies now unfortunately.

Makes me regret leaving ya guys again.. Last time I left there was no issues that followed. This time alot followed. Sorry for that...
I of course don't know the background of this situation and I don't know whatever has been happening in the cave, but just sending a simple pm to someone who has been working hard for this site for years and already making the announcement public before he could even read the pm, is not good. Although I have made similar mistakes in the past, I don't think you handled this very well, sorry.
Indeed it is not. It just causes anger.

Craven you will be missed for sure ( thanks for finishing my banner dude ). Thank you for all your blunt constructive casual deck advice and all of your helpful information. I do find it surprising how this went down. For a veteran mod of the forums, one would think that a simple, professional PM would suffice.
People have had their fair share of issues with what you do. There's been controversy, drama, and all sorts of other forum-related matters. Moderation is never a fun job.
But through it all, you've remained consistently committed to the right thing: the idea that the rules and your very position as a moderator are only there as a supplement to keep the forum from degrading into an awful mess. Too often in large organizations does the meaning for which rules and moderators exist become lost in a mess of bureaucracy. Too often do people begin to blur the lines between supplementing the needs of the user-base and treating the rules as an end rather than a means.
People haven't always agreed with what you did or what you said as a result of it, but at least, you can say that you were consistently your own person. You can stand and say that you said what you meant and meant what you said, rather than constantly stating the same thing as every other staff member.

I also will probably not be very active in these forums anymore. The main reason I came here was my responsibility for the forums, and this now rests on other shoulders. I probably will finish the remaining requests in Epic Graphics, and then I'll be gone. I no longer see any reason to stay.
However, I would like to thank the staff for its work, especially Woapalanne who just wanted to help out a little bit in Magic Rulings but now is a very active and just mod in that forum. I also want to thank all artists in Personal Writing, Avvy&Sig Shops and Artwork - your creativity is stunning and helps to make this forum something special. Thanks to the [T]'s who were my clan-mates for quite some time, and thanks to all the gurus in Rulings for making this forum the best. Thanks also to those whom I now probably have forgotten - I'm sure you knew whom I mean.
So, in general - good bye. I might check in from time to time, but otherwise farewell, and good luck with (and for) the new mods.
Good riddance to you, for both your terrible modding style and your acceptance speech-esque overdramatic goodbye post. This is an internet forum, not the Academy Awards.

I was continue the line of posters to quote this for total truth. And if the rationale is as Craven has stated it then this leaves an even worse taste in my mouth. The fact of the matter is that Craven was more active that Rancored_Elf, votan, and nan are, possibly even combined. I can easily do some statistical analysis of this to prove the fact, but the last time I did that it resulted in quite a bit of anger. And I do admit I am not privy to a list of moderator actions, but, even so, it would seem Craven has been more able than the rest.
Lesurgo, I think we would all appreciate a more full answer.
Now not only is intelligence and hard work not enough to ensure that one is doing a good job, now you must maintain a strict line of acquiescence to the administration mindset.
Craven always seemed to be one of the few mods, (along with Nai and MikeyG) who went out of the way to maintain a level of open communication with the populace, and while i may disagree with mikey or Nai about what they say or their way of saying it, i respect the fact that they actually DO say it. They dont hide in the mod cave and say nothing, they come out, and are actually a PART of the community rather then just acting above the community.
I sincerely hope there was a very good justification for this, otherwise there will be more repercussions, especially considering the time in which this occurred, and the fact that Craven was one of the most vocal an open mods in the 'Vocal Minority' thread; a factor that i feel likely caused cravens removal from globalship.

As far as I can tell, nothing Craven said in the Vocal Minority thread would be objectionable to the administrators; indeed, it seemed to reinforce their arguments quite well.
But, again, let's wait for Lesurgo's justification response.
