Just piping in to say that if you're absolutely desperate, I can give WMing a shot again, and I say absolutely desperate because I can't guarantee that I won't flake off again like I did in BHaH...
I guess if you need one, I could give it a shot. I've done a *very* small amount of moderating RP, but I have done it. I also have around 2-3 years of RP experience behind me (although I took a 6-month hiatus before doing this, so I'm knocking off most of the rust atm...)

I so totally vote for Sephiroth Owa. He is on the site alot of the time I know he knows alot about pokemon, I can't think of any experiences I have seen of him RPing but he is a fairly good world builder from hat I have seen.

Break, O Earth.
Dry up, O Sea.
Burn out, O Sun.
Grant us power Earthly Leaders and Gatekeepers of Hell.
Guide us Makers of the Underworld.
I would do it but I think that Sepheroth has a lot more Pokemon knowledge than I do.
I've been RPing for a while and could use my experience in this but my Pokemon experience is my 100 hours on Diamond... which is a lot less than most people who play.
I could get by using Seribii.net however.
I am more than willing to help though!
By the way, I could also use some help on the Wiki, which is something completely different. A few people have already signed up on it. I, personally, have no Wiki knowledge or experience, so I really depend on you guys to do it for me.
Re-added the announcement. Moves are good, and I'll help edit to reflect what they'll do here, since not all moves are identical, especially moves like Double Team.
There are definitely a lot of good Pokemon resources out there. I'd recommend Smogon as well as Serebii. Smogon's having a little trouble right now, but once it's back up it's a very good resource.
Also, I'd recommend installing Netbattle, for two reasons. One, it's AWESOME. Two, there's a damage calculator. Basically, take attack, fill in a couple of blanks, choose the pokemon you're attacking, and you'll get the range of damage the attack will do. I think it's useful to have when moderating whether or not the Pikachu's Thundershock attack managed to do enough damage to KO somesuch pokemon after however many times.
Anyway, I also support Sephiroth Owa, and request that whoever becomes a new mod PLEASE have Photon Eater fill you in because I don't want to be stuck in a dark abandoned hospital forever.
A lot of the moves are listed to describe what they do anyways. It'll probably be just the evasion ones and the speed ones (i.e. Agility) that need a bit of errata.
I really don't see a problem with stat boosting moves being what they are. Maybe have a lower limitation on the boost they give, as in no more than double, but there's really nothing wrong with having a Pokemon move faster or its painful attack becoming very painful.
The only moves that really need altering are the godmoddish ones and the ones that would overlap with others (like Double Team vs Agility).
It's like they're taking steroids in a way so they can win the 100m sprint.
It's functionally different to how it works in the game as in the TV show and also this, the RP, because in the game you use Agility to pretty much assure that you will strike first against any opponent who has not used Agility also.
However, in the show, if someone used Agility, they were normally doing it in response to an opponent's attack (e.g. Thunderbolt) thus running towards the opponent, dodging the bolts and eventually striking the foe.
That would make it the same as Quick Attack then, wouldn't it?
@Dusk. Its more of a description problem. Check the wikispace entry for agility. I made it that it relaxes the mind making the user more conscious of attacks. But in its own meaning, it would be described as someone running faster which is hard to describe. That's the problem I see...
Or it could just be like haste from D&D and every other RPG ever. Like Dusk_, I see no problems with either Double Team or, indeed, any stat booster.

Valid point. This becomes a problem with battle in general. For instance, switching in anticipation of an opponent's attack. All of a sudden both players, rather than having chosen an action and watching it play out, can now move in anticipation of a certain's person's actions.
Hey Nai, I have a question: What are your thoughts on integrating the Pokemon Trading card game into the world?
Anyway, I also support Sephiroth Owa, and request that whoever becomes a new mod PLEASE have Photon Eater fill you in because I don't want to be stuck in a dark abandoned hospital forever.
I thought I made this clear in the announcement. But, since I didn't, let me make sure you guys understand.
A WM cannot take over another WM's storyline. It just doesn't happen. We all will handle things like Professor Willow, or Pokecenters, or things of that nature. But if one WM makes a storyline, that's their own storyline, and no other WM will handle it.
Nai, I'm just curious, what exactly is your vision for this World of Pokemon Wiki?
A good reference page for effects of moves, a place to check histories of places and characters. In other words, it's a guide, a location thread, a reference, everything. If you need to look something up, this Wiki should have the info.
The only moves that really need altering are the godmoddish ones and the ones that would overlap with others (like Double Team vs Agility).
Not exactly. See, we don't have stats. At all. So when you have a move like, say, Calm Mind, the only effect of which is stat boosting, what do you say it does? Double Team actually makes 'shadows' of you that your opponent can't differentiate between, making it so they probably hit the shadows before they hit you. Agility is just fast movement. Things like that.

I'm basically saying we're taking a more TV show approach to moves. Every move should have an actual, non-stat effect that is visible and actually does something for you.
Explain, please. It's been eight years since I played it.
Well, we had a Pokemon Trading Card Game video game, right? So clearly there is an entire subculture of people in the Pokemon world that make playing the TCG their pasttime.
My thought was to sort of handle it like Triple Triad in Final Fantasy VIII. Make it this world that people can immerse themselves in if they like and otherwise not.
Does this then allow the Pokemon to strike the opponent?
I'm thinking of this scenario...
1: Pikachu! Use Agility.... Pikachu charges towards the foe...
2: Charmander, use Ember! Pikachu's increased speed allowed him to avoid the attack.
1: Pikachu, use Slam! Pikachu hits because the Charmander can't see where he is coming from..
I see this as a good way for it to work.
We will have to bear in mind Pokemon's Base Speed stats when battling to see who goes first.
Should I compile a list of this on the Wiki?
Well, I wouldn't say it allows them to strike the opponent like that. Agility is a move to dodge, not a move to hit. It'd be good for dodging, but I wouldn't think it'd make you so fast you're invisible.

I understand there's a following, but I don't understand what's in the Trading Card game that needs to be added to the RP. Can you explain?

My comment on Double Team and Agility was that increased dodging and speed are really the same in real life. If you keep them how they are intuitively, they'd be the same, hence the Double Team "shadow" effect so they'd be different.
Calm Mind and similar attacks aren't hard to imagine as they are. Say, a Metapod getting hit by Takedown. Normally it would get smashed, but using Harden it can stand its ground. Likewise, Swords Dance makes normally feeble attacks painful (or painful attacks into devastating moves).
Would you like me to do the speed stats thing for you? It would help determine who would hit first in battles.
Hits first? There is no "hitting first". Battles are completely roleplayed out (there was a very long discussion on the FAQ thread).
I understand there's a following, but I don't understand what's in the Trading Card game that needs to be added to the RP. Can you explain?
I don't know, just thought it would be fun. Two trainers have some down time, two decks of cards, some gamblin' money, rainy day, nothing to do, that sort of thing.
Oh! I see what you're saying. I thought there was some mechanic in the card game you wanted.
That's completely fine with me. I would expect there to be pokemon cards in the world, since the world has other pokemon merchandise. Since I don't know the card game, I'd probably need someone else to take care of that.
It is something I could help out with. I had a good knowledge in the game back in the day when it was super popular. I am aware of places where the most up to date lists of cards are available, although just playing with the originals for now would be awesome...
I was thinking of maybe selling starter decks with lists similar to those of the original Base/Jungle/Fossil theme decks and then selling boosters of the respective sets at Pokemarts or special Pokemon Card-Marts.
What do you think Nai?
Yeah, I think taking it beyond Fossil would be absolutely unnecessary. Actually, I think maybe taking it beyond the Base Set isn't entirely needed because that, to me, was when the Metagame was at its most stable.
From what I understand, Team Rocket was a mess, and I have absolutely no idea what's going on now with these dragon cards and what not.
Also, the inclusion of just the 1st 3 sets would allow for the best ever decks to become the major archetypes again, these were Damage Swap, Haymaker and Rain Dance.
Actually, and I agree that I'd like to see those three archetypes into prominence, you don't want Jungle or Fossil in that case. You want to stick with the Base Set.
Though my favorite deck always was and always will be the Cleaner.
I don't know what MWS means. Wait, are you asking where within the world project or actually where?
If the second, I know Apprentice has a mod for Pokemon. Or someone could take some Bicycle decks and designate each card means this so that they can act as proxys.
Yeah, Sephiroth, that'd be great if you're willing to run this. Should you require assistance I'll definitely volunteer myself. I invested a lot of money in this game back when it started, and I've been aching to play it for a long time now.
MWS stands for Magic Workstation, a gaming program that can be used to play games over the interwebz. it's mainly for magic but it can support other games like WoW and PTCG

Oh right... I don't know if there's a workstation, but I wouldn't think so. I think the best bet is the Apprentice mod.
I'd happily help with any apprentice stuff if need be. I know how to use it. I'll also dabble to see if pokemon is allowed on MWS (since mws > apprentice in so many ways). LoTR can be played on MWS and its not famous, so I assume pokemon would find its place

Nope. Agility is basically 'dodge +1'. There's no actual damage given to your opponent. It just gives you the ability to dodge an attack easier.
