@ Dragon: "That's alright, it will come in time. Excuse me one second, there's someone else outside." Foxwood turned briefly toward the door.
@ Makorandy: The Professor heard Kieron and called out to him from inside the lab. "Yes, come in. There's another trainer here as well, so this should make things a lttle easier."
@ both: He began sifting through a couple boxes, looking for something. After a couple minutes he produced a handful of items for each trainer. "Here you go. A PokeDex, two pokeballs, and a puddle ball to get you started in Risin. Was there any questions you wanted to ask?"
"Mm..." Aiden thought for a moment, looking at Growlithe. The pokemon stared back, its black pupils glinting with excitement, as if it knew they were about to go somewhere. "Is there anywhere you'd suggest, professor? Maybe a town nearby most trainers go to...?"
Kieron nodded as Aiden asked his question, "Yeah, I've never been in Risin before so I'm totally lost to where I should go. I could probably figure it out eventually you know, but it would be nice to have some tips, eh?"
Oh yeah, I also need a Pokemon...I don't really have one of my own right now..."
@ both: Professor Foxwood thought briefly before continuing. "There's not a lot of options from here, really. There's the ferry to Newbloom, or the Routes to Newbloom and Osiers. Newbloom in a lovely place, but Osiers is near a rather stagnant swampland. Good place to find poisonous creatures, but the smell is god-awful." He turned to Kieron
@ Kieron: "But you said you needed a pokemon? Come over here and take a look at this screen on the terminal, if you please." Foxwood proceeded to tap a couple keys, bringing up a screen for Kieron to look over. On the screen there were four different pictures, with names beside each of them: Corsola, Hoppip, Houndour, and Spinarak. "Those are the four that my main lab has easiest access to at the moment. You may take one of them, if you like."
Kieron observed each picture on the screen, letting his eyes take in all the information possible to make an informed decision. Whichever Pokemon he chose now would effect what his journey will be like from this point on.
He immediately knew he did not want a Hoppip. He had grown up with grass Pokemon all his life, and he wanted something different from what he was used to.
For a moment he thought he would choose Houndour, but then he hesitated and said, "I'm going to choose...the Spinarak"
"Well, I've already got my own partner, so..." Aiden grinned, giving Growlithe an affectionate pat on the head before turning to the trainer and the professor. "If you two don't mind, I'm gonna jet off. Thanks for the help, professor; I think I'm gonna check those routes out, enjoy the scenic route." With a curt nod of his head, and a flick of his wrist, he started stepping towards the door. "C'mon, Growlithe."
Looking up from another box, the pokemon padded behind his trainer obediently, tail and tongue wagging enthusiastically as they both headed off towards the routes - and the beginning of their adventure.
"Good luck to you," Foxwood said as the trainer walked out the door. He turned to Kieron, still beside the computer terminal. "Just a minute here, and I'll get you your Spinarak." He tapped a couple keys ont he keyboard, and within seconds a Sting Ball materialized in a nearby piece of equipment.
Female . . . moveset is Poison Sting, String Shot, Scary Face, and Pursuit
Kieron took the recently materialized Stingball from the machine, and looked at it. Right there in his hands, was the first Pokemon that would actually belong to him and no one else.
"Well," began Kieron, "thanks Professor. I guess the first thing I should do is let her out and see how she likes me."
Kieron pressed the button in the center of the Pokeball, releasing the ethereal white light that held his Spinarak.
"Arak-Arak-aaa!" the young spider cooed.
"Hey there girl." Kieron said, a tinge of anxiousness wavering in his voice. "I'm Kieron, you're new trainer." The Spinarak tilted her head to the side, and cooed again.
"Spiii-Arak-aaa"
"Alright,I should probably give you a name, that's what good trainers do. I think -" Kieron put his hands to his chin to mime thinking. "I'll name you Nossa." Proud with the nickname he had just come up with, Kieron turned to the professor. "Thanks for all of your help. I think I'm going to head off to Newbloom. See ya!" After saying goodbye, Nossa and Kieron left the laboratory, out into a world of adventure.
Spencer entered the lab. Taking a quick look around, he laughed to himself. "Busy and minding their own business... These guys would be perfect targets for us if we weren't looking for their help. Don't mess around with these guys yet, alright?" Spencer told Gastly."Ghaaaaaas" replied Gastly in a haunting moan meaning "fine..."
"Is the professor in?" Walking around, Spencer searched for the professor.
"Well, we just arrived in Risin. I noticed the flyer and decided to come over here. My name's Spencer and this here's my Gastly. I was wondering if you had anything to help us get started," said Spencer. "Also, I'm looking for some mischievous pokemon. Do you know where I might find some?" "Ghaaaaas" Gastly thought it was his turn to chime in apparently.

"Let me see here," Foxwood looked through a couple nearby drawers of his desk, and pulle dout some items for Spencer. "Ah, here we are. I can give you a PokeDex, and these three balls here. Two are just normal pokeballs, but one is a Puddle Ball which is more specialized for aquatic pokemon. Now, as for mischevious pokemon, I would probably suggest you find your way to the Concave Cliffs and the graveyard that's in the area there. Rumour has it that a few different Ghost-type creatures like to call it home."
"Hehe, sounds like that's just what I'm looking for. One more question: What's the best way to get to these Concave Cliffs? Directions were never a strength for me," said Spencer. Meanwhile, it seemed as though Gastly had vanished while no one was paying notice to it.

"Hmm, going to the Cliffs? Then you'll either want to take the ferry to Newbloom, or follow Routes 1 and 3. They you go down Route 8 and it leads you right to it."
"Alright, then, thanks a bunch for the help," said Spencer as a wide grin appeared on his face. "See you around!" Spencer gave a subtle nod that didn't seem to be directed towards the professor as he turned around. Spencer took a few steps forward. One, two,... Out of nowhere, Gastly reappeared right in front of the professor's face and gave him a large long lick all the while cackling in a way only a Gastly could. Then Gastly followed Spencer outside.
Spencer noticed someone outside of the lab. Eh, not in the mood. Spencer gave the visitor an uninterested look and walked towards Route 1 as he was advised.

Foxwood sputtered a bit as the ghost licked his face, but he didn't seem to be incapacitated at all. He came to the door to shout at Spencer, but instead saw Arkantos waiting patiently. "Oh, hello there. What can I do for you? I'm Professor Foxwood, the leading researcher in the area."
"Ah, yes. You'll need some of these-" the Professor handed Arkantos three balls, and continued. "And this device here is a PokeDex. It's a point-and-use device with informatino on all different types of pokemon, but the catch is you need to scan one first to read its information.. Those balls are what's used for catching them after battle. Two are regular pokeballs, and the third is actually a Puddle Ball, specialized for catching water-type pokemon who usually swim around like Goldeen or Magikarp."
Luke looked at the lab nervously as he plucked stingers from his arm. "I knew i should have just left him in his ball, but NO, i had to let him out of his ball to get fresh air. I should of known scorupi hates ships..." He grumbles as he enters the lab...
just watched this guy win a game after mulliganing down to zero and doing nothing for four turns in the t8 of a 2x premier event. I immediatly Imed a friend to confirm Chuck Noris actually plays Magic.
Jarek slowly makes his way into the lab. Wolf goes a little bit ahead and scouts out the area. It's okay boy, I don't think anything means any harm to us in here. Wolf barks and nods...
Foxwood looked around at the new trainers that suddenly appeared at his doorstep. "My, my. Appears another ferry of trainers came in. Come in, everyone, are you all trainers looking to explore the region?" He looked around at the three new arrivals, noting that one appeared to have his pokemon wandering around freely.

"Prof. Foxwood I presume? I was referred here by Sabrina of Saffron City and I am looking to pursue the Pokemon Gym Challenge. The name is Jarek, Jarek Cage."
Wolf approaches Prof. Foxwood wearing a pair of sunglasses. He sniffs a bit then sits in front of the professor wagging his tail..
