OOC: Its starting to get dark. Visibility is lessened.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Jenesis: Bellsprout has a response to Houndour coming out. As houndor materializes in a flash of light, Bellsprout takes this time to unleash a slew of vines upon the newly summoned pokemon (Vine whip).
As darkness creeps in through the hour that Marr is searching for new pokemon, visibility lessens. As Marr keeps searching, he hears a sharp hoot from behind him. He turns around and sees he shape of a pokemon, but cannot make out many details.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Shinen: Chula does as instructed, and it works perfectly. The buble hit its mark due to Nidoran being confused as to Chulas location, and it looks like it did a lot of damage. The nidoran staggers about, moving toward where the girl nidoran was, but slumps down unconscious a couple meters away. The girl Nidoran dashes off to where the male Nidoran is.

Houndour, unable to dodge in time, found a pair of vines wrapped around her forelegs. She reflexively attempted to bite at the vines jabbing at her face.
OOC: You don't have to roll for encounters. But you can if you want.
Because of the immediate proximity of the vines, Houndour gets a good bite into them. The shock Bellsprout experiences of having it's limbs bitten causes it to recoil the vines back. (Bellsprout flinched).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@ Marr: Marr angles his pokedex to get a reading on where he sees the outline of the pokemon in the trees. The pokedex dings, and reads the following:
Hoothoot, the Owl Pokémon. Hoothoot stands on one leg, but uses both its powerful eyes to see clearly even through the darkest night.
The figure does not move.

@ Jenesis: OOC: Gotcha. I will remember that in the future.
The bellsprout sees the houndour do this, but because of the recoil from houndours previous attack, it was unable to get out of the way in time. It takes a head-on ember to the face, causing it to keel over, unconscious, due to the massive amount of fire damage. (The attack was extremely effective!)
I apologize to all of you for my obvious delay in updating. I assure you that I am still in charge of the routes, but sometimes life just doesn't go your way sometimes. However, things are back to normal, and you can expect normal updates.

@Marr: Ghastly floated to the owl pokemon, and attempted to lick it. Unfortunately for the Hoothoot, it did not expect this pokemon to be hostile, so it did not react to ghastly's attack in time, taking a lick attack full on. After the attack, it tried to counterattack, but it seemed that it could not move. It lost it's balance on the branch, and fell off and fell to the ground. (HootHoot is paralyzed)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Jenesis: OOC: Unfortunately, you won't be able to catch the Bellsprout, as it has fainted. This is similar to that of the game. Your houndour has gained "experience" though.
Trish wanders in the direction she chose for about an hour. However, because of the darkness, she didn't see much. After a while, she comes to a small forest. As she goes in, she sees a figure fall from a branch of the trees to the ground. It looked like a pokemon, but she couldn't tell in the darkness.

Hoothoot, the Owl Pokémon. Hoothoot stands on one leg, but uses both its powerful eyes to see clearly even through the darkest night.

Satisfied that there is nothing more to learn from this battle, Trish continues on her way. She doesn't want to get too close to the Ghost Pokemon Trainer. From the stories she's heard of Lavender Town, they're...spooky.
The pokeball flew towards the owl pokemon, hitting its mark. Hoothoot was sucked into the pokeball, and the pokeball hit the ground, wriggling and making a pinging sound. After a couple of seconds, the pinging stopped.

Also, Marr noticed another trainer leaving the scene as he threw the pokeball. It looked like a girl with a dog pokemon of some kind. She was walking in the direction of Route 2.
Marr picks up his Pokeball with the new Hoothoot. As he bends down, he notices another trainer. Grabbing the ball, he straightens up, and calls out.
"Hey! You okay, over there?"
He hurries towards her.
OOC: Deus, what do you mean by "Talk"? Do you mean Sleep Talk?
Sorry, I meant tackle.

The people that play legacy / vintage always amuse me. They want their formats to be represented more. They want more tournaments. But when anyone suggests allowing more people access to the formats by reprinting cards, the same people start screaming about the reprint policy.
Lime soon reached the fork in the path. In front of him were two paths that almost seemed to contrast themselves completely. Where one was vibrant and full of plant growth, the other was stagnant and dark.
He had thought of the random chatter he heard through the city and on the way to the fork and had deduced that route two led to a literal ghost town and route three led to a port town that seemed famous for fishing.
"Hmm, well I would think with the pokemon i just caught, fighting water types would be a cinch. I would think going to a ghost town would be somewhat dangerous. I mean if its deserted, that must mean the pokemon around it must be dangerous. Although I like challenges, I will save the tougher path for later....
As he went down the path, he had not thought to check the signs and began going down route two instead of the intended route three.
"...I just don't get why the paths are so misleading. You would think that the path to Newbloom Bay would be cheery..."

Not quite certain where hes going, but certain that there is somewhere to be, Jonathon leaves the borders of Livian port and starts heading further inland, but doesn't get too far before realizing that he still doesnt know where hes heading. As he pulls out his pokedex and sets it to view the map, a pokeball on his belt twitches slightly. Jonathon sighs. "Fine," he says, and a nigh-invisible dispersed cloud of Gastly spreads out behind him. "I suppose you have a better idea? I thought not. Hey, a graveyard." Jonathon pauses a moment, as the Gastly says Gastly. "Why not? Maybe we'll run into someone who used to be famous there." Checking the routes it'd take to get there, Jonathon plots a route, then closes his pokedex. "Well then, let's be off."
So saying, Jonathon starts heading along the route, idly flipping a coin as he goes.
@Avatar: Jonathan walks down the path. Nothing much happens. That is, until a small bird swoops down near the side of the path close to Jonathan. It looks like it caught a worm.

"Well now, let's see what that is." Jonathon flips out his new pokedex, which has somehow already managed to acquire weatherworn, beaten look, despite being relatively new, and points it towards the bird... and the worm. At the same time, the haze around him collects into a distinct ghastly, which floats slightly closer towards the two, intrigued by what they are.
Jonathon, never one to let an oppurtunity pass by, takes note that the bird is eating, and thus hopefully distracted. "Ghastly...", he murmurs as he thinks about capturing this flying pokemon, his pokemon's cue to silently float towards the bird, waiting to be noticed. and once it is noticed, in the very instant of surprise when attention is paid to it, to look into the eyes until the bird falls in and asleep in the gaze of the ghastly.
'Hah!' Jonathon quietly exulted. Taking advantage of the birds slumber, he unhooked a pokeball, and launched it at the bird, hoping that the sleep would allow him to capture the Starly with a minimum of fuss and trouble.
Meanwhile, his Ghastly kept a lookout for other Starlies. After all, attracting the notice of a large flock would not be an ideal situation.
The pokeball thrown from Jonathon hits the starly dead on. The ball wriggles, and it looks like it will work. But then the ball pops open, and the starly is released back to where it was.... still sleeping. The pokeball must be defective if it doesn't work on a sleeping pokemon. :\
Ghastly does not notice any flocks of starly.

If yes -> Trish throws a Poke Ball.
If no -> Trish says "That'll show you, ya dumb sprout!"
Either way ->
"Getting dark, huh?" Trish looked at her map. There was still a way to go before the next town. "We can't turn back so soon, now can we? Onward!"
Houndour barked in agreement. (This was its usual hunting time, after all.)
Trish led the way in a direction she assumed was north.
