Geoff backed away from the horrible and awesome sight. "Oh...my..." His resolve faltering, and then disappearing with a colossal crash of thunder he looks around for somepace to take shelter, while Hydrix's fury is unleashed on the beleaguered city.

I always opt to move the character only one space in those cases so as not to overshoot wherever they were planning to go. If it makes it better you can consider yourself on Route 9 (Center) and move from there accordingly.

OOC: Sorry guess I should have told you that. Basically the general way I've been handling quests like that is when whatever it is you're delivering reaches its destination you get paid. Most quests are one-way so they don't require a return trip. Some however do require you to go somewhere and then return. Those usually pay better than one-way quests.

Aare lands in front of Kira, its chest swelled with pride. She commends her pokemon on a job very well done. Then, she packs up and heads North towards the center of the forest. In a cozy clearing, she decides to get a few hours of sleep before trying to find nocturnal pokemon. She releases her Oddish from its pokeball. The tiny plant-type immediately plants its roots and turns its leaves towards the sun to have lunch, plant-style. 'Hey, uh ... will you stop eating while I'm trying to have a conversation?' The Oddish gives her an amused look, as if asking her whether she was jealous. 'Okay ... Photosynthesis, would you mind waking me up when the sun sets?'
As soon as it's night, the Oddish nudges Kira until she wakes up. Time to see who is awake at night!

Beryl sent out Mystic to battle the Snover. "Use Dragon Rage!" Channeling the power of dragonic flames, the little serpent spewed them all over the ice-type.

After the battle, Beryl was frigid and shivering all over. "L-let's head back..." she muttered. "It's way too cold..." To her dismay, as she trudged back into Celeste City, she saw that the sun wasn't even near to setting. Or were the days longer up high on this mountain? She could at least be cheered that her Pokemon had made good progress for the day. Beryl returned to the Pokemon Center, healed her Pokemon, and warmed herself by a fireplace in the Center's lobby as the day wound down. She had to return to the Ice Rock tomorrow morning. She had to get stronger.
Beryl spent the next morning exploring the city, marveling at how its residents somehow managed to live with the cold their entire lives. Her last stop was the Ageos Spirituality Association, where she studied the small chunk of Ice Rock with great interest. Seeing the old religious texts displayed there reminded her of something Michael had said, about the inscription in the pyramid: "That which cannot be destroyed must be bound." She asked the Association's other members if they could help her understand the meaning of that phrase, and also if any of them were Pokemon trainers who wished to battle.

After her research, Beryl returned to the Ice Rock. The snowy crevasse was...well, not not cold, but she was definitely more used to it than she had been just a day before. While she watched her Pokemon train, she leaned against a relatively ice-free cliff to meditate upon the subject.
Beryl also looked around for battle opponents -- preferably other Trainers -- for her rapidly growing team of Pokemon.
Scymon sliced the Girafarig twice, creating a spatter-filled cross all over the right side of its frame. The psychic-type fell to the ground almost immediately, questionable as to whether it would ever stand again.
YOU WON!
Scymon gained 1 exp.
EDIT: OOC Nevermind new plan
Frizz and the team go west twice, stop on route 6 to heal, sell the mushroom and five pokeballs, buy four great balls, then move west one more time and look for pokemon, especially listies and strongies.
Josh got hurt and collapsed...
Josh lost the battle...
The second tremor submerged Ixion completely. Before Josh could react to it, a giant wave knocked him off the platform and into the muck headfirst. His vision blurred as he drifted into unconsciousness...
His vision a sea of white, a mysterious, rainbow-colored avian figure was roosting right in front of him. "Beyond this point is the land of the dead...it is where the souls of the deceased endure nothingness as they await reincarnation..."Josh stared at the bird in disbelief. Was this really happening? Was this the Great One who supposedly led the Beasts? He wanted to say something, but could not. "Oh, it's you again. You died so carelessly..." Josh rolled his eyes. It was definitely not careless. "Money opens all doors. I'd be willing to do this for you for a little compensation..."
Josh nodded his head in agreement. "If that is what you want, Great One...very well."
"Very well, then. I'll need pY 7,330 to revive you in the world of the living. Do we have a deal?"
Josh sighed and nodded again in silent agreement.
"Thank you for your patronage. Very well. Now, I'll send you back to your soul..."
The moment Josh opened his eyes, he found himself on the trainer's platform he had battled on, the platform wiped bone dry. Suddenly, the avian's voice echoed in the trainer's head. Well then, time to keep your promise. I'll be taking my reward now...
Josh awoke to see Sirena standing over him, patting his face roughly. "Hey! Kid! KID! Wake up!" He realized with a scan of his surroundings, he was moved to the Pokemon Center.
OOC: Twilight gets 8 XP
Resheph gets 8 XP
Bladestorm gets 4 XP
Mirage gets 2 XP
Ixion gets 2 XP
Back to main thread now, I suppose.
Josh awoke with a scream, like he had been dreaming an awful nightmare. "Where am I?!" he shouted, Sirena's face right in front of him. "When did you get here?!" His facial expression was one of pure fear.
After recovering from the awful trauma and getting his Pokémon recovered, the still-shaken trainer met Swift outside and asked what he did wrong in that battle--how could his fighting style and his competence in combat be improved? No mistakes could be made when the big battle came.
After getting his answers, the Dragoon reined up Resheph and rode south to Magnolia City, checking the news for any instances of what was going on with the serpent trio. He also checked out the Gym for any trainers willing to help him practice. Not the Leader--grunt trainers.
Billy sets Sobek to learn Ice Fang after his battle against the Slugma. After camping for the night, Billy gets up early in the morning and travels to Celeste City. He goes to the Pokemon Center and has his Pokemon taken care of. He then heads over to the Celeste City Gym and searches for a Gym Trainer to Battle against.
Where you do some training in the snow. (+1xp) Afterwards you look around for trainers but can't seem to find anyone...
What do you do?
You head west to Route 6 (East) and stop at the Pokemon Center and Poke Mart to sell items, buy items, and heal your Pokemon.
Having finished with your business in the area you head west once more to Route 6 (South)...
Where you look for Pokemon. After a few minutes of searching you find a Pokemon that you have been desperately searching for...
What do you do?
You swap out your Pokemon then head out into the city.
Outside the storm has wreaked havoc with the glass windows of the buildings but at least it has put out all the fires...
What do you do?
You head to the Gym looking for a trainer to talk to about Liliana. Just inside the gym you find...
What do you do?
You continue on to Magnolia City...
Just inside the city you come across a small Glameow wandering the streets...
What do you do?
You head east to Route 11 (Southwest)...
Once you're there, you look around for anything interesting and find a Psyduck walking along the beach...
What do you do?
Having healed up a bit at the Pokemon Center you decide to head south to Magnolia City...
Once you're there, you head to the gym looking for trainers and news about the Serpents. You find both. The Serpents are still in the northern part of Ageos but look to be on their way south. The trainer you find is a Beauty named Betty...
What do you do?
Having camped for the night you head into Celeste City the next morning...
Once you're there, you head to the local gym looking for a trainer...
