"It really is cold here..." Beryl muses to herself. "Trainers must avoid this spot for some reason. Perhaps I'll have better luck in town?" She returns to Celeste City and checks the town's noticeboards to see if she can be of assistance.

She tells you to help Nurse Joy in treating the injured people and Pokémon of the city.
She tells you to go out into the city looking for injured people and Pokémon and take them back to the Pokémon center to be fixed up by Nurse Joy and her staff.
You head back into town...
And look around a the town's noticeboard at the Pokemon Center. To your surprise, the local Nurse Joy approaches you as you're studying the board. She tells you that she has message for you from Michael inviting you to come and talk to him about possibly joining their organization. As you approach you see a potion amidst the wreckage and she gives you a warm smile as you pick it up (I assume you're going to.) "Glad to see you're ok. We've had a little excitement here..."
What do you do?
Nicolette picks up the Potion, with the intent of using it on an injured pokemon from the wreckage and rubble. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to get here faster, Emberlace and I did the best we could."
Nicolette began to explain the whole series of events that she can connect to the serpents, from finding that abandoned temple in the mountains, to the events of the desert ruins and the Rocket Jenny.
All the while, she will help Sofia clean up, and keep her eyes open for any more random items or injured pokemon that require attention.
Beryl reacts with surprise to the invitation. "I've only been in town a few days... but I guess I'd better see what he wants."
She returns to the Gym to talk with Michael, and agrees to hear him out. She also asks him if he's had any contact with the Dragoons from Kanto or Johto regarding the issue of the rampaging serpents.
Kira is now in a complete pokemon catching spree.
'Oh my god, it's an ... uh ... pincushion! Well, got to catch them all, they say. Finn, you're up again - toss some mud at it, but stay clear of those spikes!'

"We've moved a fair number of people into underground shelters close enough to Pokémon Centers that they can receive power," Jenny explained. "Most of the city is without power, and despite the police requesting help from hospitals, the shelters are still hopelessly short-staffed."
She lead Geoff toward a shelter near a Pokémon Center about 16 blocks north of the Department Store, passing by a group of water Pokémon and firefighters trying to put out explosion-ignited fires that stemmed from Hydrix's frequent lightning strikes. The two arrived in the basement shelter, Jenny grimacing as she saw the dozens of people and Pokémon needing medical attention.
Sofia had a difficult time believing Nicolette's story at first, but everything agreed with the evidence the police had. She thanked Nicolette for her help. "If you run out of medical supplies, we've recovered a cache from a wrecked storehouse. Use them to aid the injured."
While frantically searching for injured, Nicolette found another Potion near a pile of rubble, its casing dented in several places from being pushed out of the way of collapsing debris.
Michael led Beryl to a room behind the main battle arena, keeping an eye on two high-level Dragoons battling each other in inhumanly cold conditions. He opened the door, a life-size Salamence statue in the corner designed to intimidate unsuspecting visitors.
"Sit down," the stern Gym Leader gestured toward a comfortable-looking chair. The two took seats. "I did a background check on you and noticed you have been associating with one of our newest Dragoons. Our eyes in the skies have told me that the threat of human control over the Serpents is no more, but it has resulted in their rampage all over Ageos. I must say, I am very impressed."
When Beryl asked about outside Dragoon contact, Michael explained that Dragonmaster Clair knows about what is going on, but can spare no men. "She was the one that suggested we try getting more recruits locally. There are plenty of strong, pure-hearted trainers on the island--they just either don't know about us or don't want to commit themselves to it. Do you have any more questions?"
When Beryl was done asking her questions, Michael stood up. "Now, the reason I asked for a chat with you is that you seem to have an interest in the Dragoons. If you want, I can let you prove yourself worthy of the title 'Dragoon'. It will not be easy, and Dragoons not only require power, but great wisdom. I won't blame you if you decline. Please consider your decision carefully."
"I appreciate your interest, despite how treacherous this trial will be." With that, Michael crouched down and pressed a button underneath the Salamence statue's wing. A section of the wall retracted, revealing a metal door. Once the Leader opened it, a roaring gust of cold wind passed right over Beryl, beyond the door a tunnel with ice on every wall. "At the bottom of this tunnel, your trial begins. I will be keeping an eye on you. If you fail, I will send a Dragoon to assist you in leaving the area.
(ooc: If you wish to continue down this path, crosspost in your QBU thread as well.)
Kira's battle with the wild Nidoran rages on.
Frizz smiled, heading north to Route 7 and its treacherous mountain path. At the peak of the mountain path, a caped, male Trainer faced him and shouted, "Halt!" He released a Dragonair from its Ball. "You have walked into the domain of the Dragoon Nathan! No one passes without proving their worth as a trainer to me!"
With that, he suddenly challenges Frizz to a battle.
Gabite moveset:
Tackle, Sand-Attack, Dragon Pulse(t) Dragon Rage, Sandstorm, Take Down, Sandstorm, Take Down, Sand Tomb, Slash, Dragon Claw, Dig
Saber gained 4 exp.
Ixion gained 5 exp.
Received pY 2,200!
After his close victory, Josh continued battling up Magnolia Gym's ladder--that battle shook his confidence a bit. He walked into another battle arena and found a young girl staring at him with a defiant look. "I'm going to destroy you right now. Sofia will never have to see a novice like you!"
Geoff nodded to Jenny, giving her a quick handshake. "Good luck." He looked to Nurse Joy. "My name's Geoff, I'm here to help Tell me what you need me to do."
Frizz needs some explanation on who these dragoons even are, and needs to get to Crimson City, but both of these have to come after what looks to be a difficult battle.
Frizz gets an explanation on the Dragoons from Nathan before proceeding to Crimson City.
First things first, healing at the pokémon center is necessary after the rough battle with Nathan. Then, he will first go to the department store and ask about placing a special order for two Metal Coats, citing people in Slate City who said they ordered them from the department store here as specialty items. No matter what they have to say about the metal coats, while he's there, Frizz will also purchase a Moon Stone to save for a special occasion.
Then it's off to the research center. Frizz sees a lot of fossil research going on, but he has other questions. Specifically, Riolu's evolution. Frizz shows the researcher his pokédex, which has a strange heart symbol marked under evolution method. Frizz asks what that means and how it can be achieved. He's in no rush to evolve his beloved new Riolu just yet, but it would be good to know for down the road. He also shows the researchers his updated wishlist and asks if they know the common locations for any of the pokémon he's seeking.
Frizz walks by the gym with a challenge in mind, but quickly comes to realize... This might not be the best gym for him to challenge. There are allegedly plenty in the region, so maybe he can just, you know, skip this one. For now, at the very least. Still yearning for battle and seeking to replenish his funds, Frizz seeks a rich and powerful trainer to battle.
"Josh has told me great things about you. It would be an honor," says Beryl. She shudders a little as she looks down the ice-coated tunnel. "But first, I have a few questions." She sent out Mystic, who squirmed uncomfortably in her lap at the blast of cold. He deserved to hear everything; it could change his life as much as hers.
1. Will my Pokemon come with me? Is the trial a battle? Or is it for myself alone?
2. What happens if I fail? Must I leave the city? Will I be allowed to try again?
3. My Dratini is still pretty young. Are you sure he's ready?
4. Is flight training required? Truth be told, I'm a bit afraid of falling...
5. This is more of a personal question, but I have to know. You said you had people watching the incident at the pyramid. Josh, Billy, Nicolette, Judy, and everyone else....did they all get out okay?
"Also, I've been thinking about that inscription you quoted for me," she told the Leader. "You might have noticed me doing some research around here. Earlier this morning, in the crevasse, I was meditating by the Ice Rock when I came to a revelation.
"Let's say the pedestal and the shards were some ancient form of technology used specifically to seal away the serpents. The red, blue, and green shards correspond to the three serpents, while the gold shard was the same color as Raikou's fur. Now look at this." She pulled her Red, Green, and White Apricorns, as well as a Great Ball. "Technology that freezes a Pokemon in place... Poke Balls. Is there anyone on Ageos who is noted for creating high quality Poke Balls? Maybe we can't destroy the serpents, maybe they're immortal...but we can try to capture them, study them, maybe communicate with them and try to make them see that they can use their powers to help humans, rather than hurting them."
Nicolette pocketed the Potion, and continued to search and assist with EMberlace by her side. She also kept a wary eye for signs of one of the serpents closing in on their area again.
Jenny, with a smile, handed Geoff a cart full of medical supplies. "We need you to help distribute these supplies to doctors and patients that need them. We also will need your help moving patients around and getting them out so room can be made for incoming patients. If you have any very strong Pokémon, we also need their help in searching rubble for survivors."
After the close battle, Nathan started talking about the Dragoons. "We're a talented band of dragon trainers going back over seven hundred years. We're currently led by Clair and Lance of Blackthorn City in Johto, and Gym Leader Michael runs the Ageos Branch. I'm glad I was able to save a life after that brush with the fire serpent! Unfortunately, there's not a lot else I can tell you about us unless you join us. To do that, you'll have to apply for membership at Celeste City, and that's far east of here."
The treatment at the Center took all night due to the supernatural burns from the encounter with Virikas. The next day, Frizz went to the Department Store to purchase his Moon Stone and ask about Metal Coats. The clerk said they had one in stock for pY 1500, but were waiting on a restock from Oreburgh City. If you can wait a week for the package to ship, they can get you one. Otherwise, they can ship you one to a specified location for an additional pY 300.
Third, Frizz headed to the research center to ask about Riolu and his sought-after Pokémon. The heart in the Pokédex meant time. Riolu needed to spend a lot of time with Frizz in order to evolve. As for his wish list, he went to the library there and found out:
Togepi: Togepi are imported from other regions. You will not be able to find one wild--instead, you will have to ask a breeder about getting one.
Kecleon: Kecleon can be found in the Myrtle Jungle south of Crimson City.
Beldum: Beldum can be found in the innermost depths of the Slate Mines, but are exceedingly rare.
Nosepass: Nosepass can be found on Routes 6 and 7 in the Razorpeak Mountains, on Route 10 in the Whitecap Mountains, and in the Slate City mines, but they aren't common.
Stantler: Stantler can be found on Route 11, south of Laurel City.
Ditto: Ditto can be found north of Twilight City, but trainers without eight Badges are not allowed on the ferry there.
Squirtle: Squirtle can be found on the beaches of Route 9, but are very rare. You're better off asking one of the breeders there for more information about getting hold of one.
Porygon: Rocket Corp's Game Corner used to offer Porygon as a prize, but they have since shut down. They have no known natural habitat in Ageos.
Finally, Frizz headed for the Gym to seek out a strong lackey to battle. He sadly did not find a particularly rich trainer, but instead found a strange man fanning the flames of a lit torch.
ooc: Friendship evolutions works the same as level-up evolutions. He'll be eligible for evolution after learning three more moves and spending a level on evolution. Also, expect three updates time for a package to ship.
Michael answered Beryl's questions.
1) "Your Pokémon will come with you. That's all I can say--you'll receive further instructions on the way in.
2) "If you fail, you will be allowed to try again, as many times as you need. However, the trial is such that you will not be physically or mentally able to try again immediately, or even the next day."
3) "Have confidence in your Dratini. In the right hands, dragons can overcome any challenge their trainer has for them."
4) "Flight training is recommended but not required."
5) "Everyone is okay, as far as I know. The Beast of Thunder, Raikou, has made his move, as well. I look forward to seeing Josh again, since my eyes in the skies tell me that he has made Raikou his ally."
When asked about high quality Poké Balls, Michael replied, "I know of a facility all the way in Harlequin City that produces specialized Poké Balls. I would ask there.
Once Beryl was directed into the icy tunnel known as the Passage of Ethics, Michael closed the door behind her. About a quarter of a mile in, she saw a two-way fork before her. Suddenly, two voices, one male and one female, echoed from deeper within.
"You who wish to pass. Answer our question."
"You will have two choices. The answer will reveal your inner self."
"Now, for the question..."
"You are the ruler of a country. You have called upon your people to gather en masse for a game. Among those who attend, one is extraordinarily tall. In said game, a player's height can give that player a great advantage or disadvantage. What would you do?"
"If you would exclude this person for the sake of fairness, go right."
"If you would accept that one's height is part of their individuality and would allow this person to participate, go left."
This quest shall continue in your QBU thread.
After the difficult battle, Josh returned to find Sofia awaiting his challenge.
None of the serpents appeared to be in sight as Emberlace dragged Nicolette toward a large pile of rubble, human screams coming from it. After a couple hours of searching, the team the two worked with found three survivors, their faces covered red with injuries from nearly being buried alive. All three were safely removed from the rubble and given immediate first aid.
While Emberlace helped with the rescue operation, she found a White Apricorn.
Iron trampled right over the winged psychic-type. Brianna had no choice but to admit defeat.
YOU WON!
Iron gained 8 exp.
Received pY 845!
Derick smiled a bit, hugging his metallic pokemon after the match and telling him how proud of him he was, then looking up at the trainer he had beaten and requesting a meeting with Liliana now that he was victorious.
Geoff nodded quickly. "Not terribly strong, but they should be able to help." He produced three Poke balls and tossed them. "Stantler, Croconaw, Combusken, go help Jenny look for survivors." He summoned forth Misdreavus, and handed her a small crate of medical supplies. "Okay girl, take his basket, and help Nurse Jenny. I'm sure she can use an extra set of hands." One last Pokeball was unopened. Geoff called forth Hoppip. "Stay handy, buddy. I might need you." He scratched Swablu below his beak. "You too. I might need you to help calm some of the wounded." He grabbed the cart. "Now let's go."
Nicolette saw the apricorn at Emberlace's feet. "How'd that get over . . . ? Nevermind." She said to herself, as she picked up the item and stuffed it in her ever-expanding satchel. The pair continued to work away with the clean-up effort, alongside Sofia.
Josh took a deep breath upon seeing the outdoor, highly elevated arena. He hopped on Bladestorm's back to get a better view of the action, then met Sofia and her Pidgeot in the skies.
1) "Your Pokémon will come with you. That's all I can say--you'll receive further instructions on the way in.
2) "If you fail, you will be allowed to try again, as many times as you need. However, the trial is such that you will not be physically or mentally able to try again immediately, or even the next day."

When asked about high quality Poké Balls, Michael replied, "I know of a facility all the way in Harlequin City that produces specialized Poké Balls. I would ask there."
"You ready?" Beryl asked Mystic.
"Tini, dratini!" squeaked the little dragon. He bounced up and down in Beryl's arms before slithering down the icy hallway.
An adventure...sure, it will be. Beryl thought sarcastically, but she faithfully followed alongside. If Mystic believes that we can do this, I trust him. She steeled herself for the trial ahead as the wall slammed shut...
Regardless of how the Gym battle went, Josh asked Swift if he felt he was ready to move on to more advanced techniques. If Swift agreed so, the two would head back to the desert, taking the overland route, for training on said advanced techniques.

While frantically searching for injured, Nicolette found another Potion near a pile of rubble, its casing dented in several places from being pushed out of the way of collapsing debris.
Nicolette pocketed the Potion, and continued to search and assist with EMberlace by her side. She also kept a wary eye for signs of one of the serpents closing in on their area again.
Legend Status:
Virikas: Southwest Ageos, Route 7 Center.
Hydrix: Northwest Ageos, sinking ships in Wisteria City's harbor.
Yakshas: Northern Ageos, Route 14 West.

Derick smiled a bit, hugging his metallic pokemon after the match and telling him how proud of him he was, then looking up at the trainer he had beaten and requesting a meeting with Liliana now that he was victorious.

While Emberlace helped with the rescue operation, she found a White Apricorn.
Nicolette saw the apricorn at Emberlace's feet. "How'd that get over . . . ? Nevermind." She said to herself, as she picked up the item and stuffed it in her ever-expanding satchel. The pair continued to work away with the clean-up effort, alongside Sofia.
