Loghain- You had specific questions. Let me tell you what I found out about those particular criminals. Arrogance was the crime of the self-professed greatest swordsman in Bakara, who was charging the man he traveled with for the honour of being protect by said same. Poor form was the crime of a man who challenged his rival to a duel and stacked the odds against him through alchemy and underhanded planning.
**That didn't really sound so bad; the girl could even see both of those targets making the situation sound less consensual than it might have actually been. Challenging the professed strongest and beating him down?**
Arl - "I see. Although I could ask more about what exactly the rules of that dual were, I think I'd rather know about the rumored 'low breeding' crime?"
Arl - "That's an interesting opinion, but how exactly does beating up half breeds result in people not having half breeds? Also, racial intermixing helps Bakara avoid race-driven conflicts that weaken us on the group level."
**Arl almost flies into an angry retort on the 'one less half-breed' comment, but contains herself. They was still a slim - very slim - chance of this not ending in a fight. Or at least being a more subdued fight. Where she punches him in the face. A more subdued fight where she punches him in the face. Wait, no, violence bad. Deep breath.**
Arl - "People are less likely to hate entire races in the first place if they grow up with members of those races. Unless their elders try to make it otherwise, anyway."
Arl - "How do you.. if you... I... okay, I can see someone explaining the situation to their children that doesn't imply another race is inferior, I guess. But I don't think it would end well. And where, exactly, do the current half-breeds fall into you plans? I thought you were just beating the crap out of people, how does that result in one less half breed?"
**Oh. Serial murder. Again. Arl glares at the man with her rather inhuman colored eyes, staying ready to react to a sudden attack but failing to maintain the air of diplomacy she had thus far been exuding.**
Arl - "I do. Loghain, you're under arrest for assault and suspected murder. You may choose to surrender."
**Arl begins moving towards Loghain, walking in a curve to draw his attention away from wherever Juris is. The girl continues to be ready to slash the air between her and the gun, although she decides to port her spiked shield to her hand and use that instead of her fingernails should Loghain make any motions at all.**304
Arl could swear that their was an aura of enchantment around the man's rifle before her view was obscure by a 10 foot wide, 6 foot tall wall shot up between herself and Loghain. Immediately following the appearance, Arl hear a loud noise somewhere between a crack and a bang.
Juris felt something graze his ribs as part of the ridge he was hanging onto exploded outwards in a spray of dust.
**Arl decides to use a leap and a light platform and to charge over the wall, allowing her to continue slashing the veil in front of her with her fingernails. The gun might be able to pierce his own barrier, after all.**
**The wall shards had their work cut out for them as Arl's choice of descent once she ran over the wall was to cast paper knight and let loose a debilitating roar as she kick off the upper portion of the wall to glide directly at Loghain. The additional armor helps protect the girl's back and head. Arl calls forth her weapons as well, angling her viel-cutting spiked shield to protect her from the coming bullet.**305
Juris threw his sai at Loghain, allowing its magic to guide it toward the man's hands. The Arbiter then ran towards the man, thankful his tough skin kept his wound from being worse, and leaped towards him with his stone hands balled into fists. Once he was in the air, Juris was suddenly covered in a red and white aura.
Loghain spun to one side as the sai flew towards him, deflecting it away with the butt of his rifle. He raised his rifle to take aim at the aura covered Juris, pulling the trigger as the arbiter streaked towards him.
No bullet came for Arl, instead a pillar of rock erupted from the ground and up towards the crouching warrior's chest.
