A large Victorian mansion sits deep in the northeastern district of Sylvan. The white building is accented by climbing vines of ivy that seems to be green no matter the season. The building has an ancient air about it even though it's in very good repair. It is fenced all the way around by a wrought iron fence and a large ornate gate blocks the entryway. Outside stands a well dressed man with an air of self importance.
An athletic looking woman in a shocking purple leather jacket with matching fingerless gloves approached the Varel Manor. She was flanked by a vinterheim malamute, which trotted along obediently sniffing the cold earth occasionally and looking displeased. As she drew close to the imperious man, Darla rose a hand in greeting.
A kinda of haggard looking man walks up to the gate, he's wearing a brown robe, with leather boots. His hair on his head and his face is unkept, and his beard looks to have a few spots that have been burnt by fire. At first look he seems to be homeless, but in his right hand he has a crystal staff with a smooth shaft, ending with a many faceted ball.
He looks around for a moment, breathing in deeply.
Peter - well now let us have a listen to your masters problem.
"He oughta, he does!" A cry came from an egg shaped boulder at the fence's gate. It huffed and puffed. "No wonder tha lads call this 'ere 'The Hill'. I kin barely take another step. Och. He kin come the rest o' the way."
"Aye." Heaving breath. "I jus'... I need a..." Heaving breath. Sitting down. "To catch me..." Eyelids rolling down. "ZzzzzZZZZzz." Dwarf rolling down hill.
Darla sighed, summoning another dog and instructing both to drag the dwarf back up the hill. The loyal hounds lifted the dwarf by either end and pulled him to the center of the group.
Well, they were at least able to stop him from rolling further and startle him to wake. He rose to his feet with a grunt, and slowly trudged over to the group. "Och...Thatta.... There's'a reason dwarves live under tha hills, not atop o' 'em."
Burkhard - Well, butler, would you please inform your master that a group has arrived with the intent to help him in the matter he advertised in the paper? I'd rather not make him wait any longer.
The man had been watching this all unfold with a grimace, likely thinking about the amount of cleaning he would have to organise later.
Butler - "Very well then, follow me."
He waived his hand and the gates swung s silently open.He led them into the house and into a sitting room filled with dark oak furniture. There were several purple velvet couches that matched the heavy curtains adorning the windows. There was a tea set prepared on a large table.
Butler - "Please help yourselves to some tea and I will announce your arrival."
Lord Varel - "And I am Lord Varel. I hope that I didn't keep you waiting too long."
The voice came from the back of the room. The man that emerged was strikingly handsome and his eyes had a slight red tint to them. Despite the air of supreme confidence there was also a melancholy about him.
The man sat down across from Darla, taking on a bit of a brooding countenance.
Lord Varel - "A great many things... But the pressing issue is that my dear sister has fallen into deep sleep. It's doubly troubling as my people are not prone to such illnesses. I believe he malady to be magical in nature."
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together
Darla- Would you be Lord Varel?
Burkhard - Hello. This is the Varel residence, correct?
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
He looks around for a moment, breathing in deeply.
Peter - well now let us have a listen to your masters problem.

Darla- Just long enough to get acquainted. What seems to be the problem, Lord Varel?
Lord Varel - "A great many things... But the pressing issue is that my dear sister has fallen into deep sleep. It's doubly troubling as my people are not prone to such illnesses. I believe he malady to be magical in nature."
