**By this point the sun has completely set. Sum'era is joined only by the faint light of the stars as the moonless night begins. She doesn't hear any more howls from the mountain direction, but the dark forest below and ahead might yet yield something of interest.
-----
Back at the dying (dead?) warg, Javert and co light torches and the like as they plan their own course of action. Sum'era's sudden direction change in the distance is the last action illuminated by the sinking sun.**
Kage positions himself such that the light is behind him. He sees better in the dark. "You mumbled about something being in a different direction, and then glanced away. Please explain why." He said to Javert in a quiet voice.
**Javert looks a bit tense at first, but the Vivian's addition just makes the man laugh from the absurdity of it all.**
Javert - "Pft..hahe- sorry, I figure that's something you'd have to watch out for in your line of work eh? Nah, I just told Greta - my daughter, you see, that I'd be bringing a group back in time for dinner. Unless the wargs appeared on the way back, that is. Which they did. You all saw it. Anyhow, I was just looking back towards home."
-------------------------------------------------
**Assuming Sum'era is using her glowing hands to see, the still mostly dark forest does not yield up its secrets. The howling wargs have gone silent, and are likely hiding. Huh.
Sum'era does, however see a faint light in the distance. Something else is moving through the forest.**
Kage looks to the probably dead warg. Was it dead? To confirm it he steps close and checks that it has stopped breathing. If it is still breathing he has Kaia make a clean wound straight to the heart ot put it out of its misery. He then creates a shadow eye that he lodges in the beasts throat and props open the mouth a bit so he can see out of it.
To Javert, "Well, for now I don't have a real reason to distrust you, just place all of your actions from here out under extreme scrutiny." He smiled as he wipes his hands on the grass.
**Javert finds that a bit odd, but apparently goes with it.
One stab later leaves the warg truly dead.**
Javert - "What are you doing with the mouth there?"
-------------------------------
**It takes quite a bit of flying as Sum'era moves towards the light in the distance. Fortunately the light appears to be roughly heading in her direction. Assuming she doesn't wait for the group to have a chance to catch up she eventually sees a number of figures moving through the forest surrounded by wargs. One of the men is very tall, that's for certain, but it's hard to make out much else at this distance. The men don't appear to have noticed her yet.**
Kage shrugged and said while gesturing to the warg and the now shadow socket in his head, "I can transfer my vision through those shadow orbs. Figured I would leave one with the corpse in case its friends come back for it. See what we are up against."
Sum'era glided into the clearing and landed softly near the chaser.
Sum'era - "There is a group of men walking through the forest in that direction. They were surrounded by wargs but they weren't being attacked by them, it was very strange."
Kage smiled at the development. "It seems like these wargs are being led, almost like pets. Should we wait for them here, or try to intercept and follow their trail backwards?"
Kage stretched a bit. "Lead on. I will follow. And don't worry if you lose sight of me, it is what I am best at anyway." He grinned as he said last bit since he cast swathe, stepped into a shadow, and blended his clothes to match the forest. He will maintain the shadow eye until further notice.
** The party travels to to the group's former location, carefully maneuvering through the woods to prevent a collision. They arrive at the location to find five sets of humanoid foot prints, four human-sized and one a bit larger. Maybe six wargs are traveling with them.
The other group has dimmed their lights and appears to be meandering back towards the mountains - with the party presumably between them and that destination.**
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
