**The Sentinels have existed in some form in the Alogeans since before the Edge of Memory, and their history has not been a pleasant or peaceful one. When the rest of the Bakaran guilds turned their greedy eyes towards the mountains, the sentinels were the most outspoken critics of the Ash Accord only to have their hands forced when the kindir bartered the ancient city out from under their eyes and the spot of honor within Ash's structure given to the Warriors. This slight continues to be an open wound on the pride of this ancient society.
The Sentinel's guildhall has no true name, members referring to it as "Where The Bodies Are Buried" or "Built Upon Blood" in pointed acknowledgement of the brutal conflicts within the Alogeans the other guilds missed by thousands of years. A mixture of shrine and hunting lodge, Built Upon Blood has become the spot for hunters and survivalists of all stripes to meet before leaving the northern most bastion of civilization within Bakara. It is likewise the final destination for their triumphant return, carrying their hard-won trophies down the Promenade of Pelts to offer up to Bakara Itself. But hunters and trophy-seekers are not the only travelers through the rough-edged, often dangerous Flint District. The Promenade is the only actual route of of the city and into the greater Alogeans, and the Sentinels hold onto this source of influence with all the jealousy of a mountain lion hording a kill.
The only permanent resident of Built Upon Blood is the Grandmaster of all the Sentinels of Bakara: Gant Pendraig, direct descendant of the ancient Pendraig Kings and every inch their successor. An intense, brooding man, Pendraig reviles most aspects of Ash but is nevertheless the most active of all representatives of the Council and the only one to be the actual leader of his society. If Ash must exist, in Pendraig's mind, then it may as well be his throne room.
If the Sentinels could go back and fight more viciously against the Ash Accord, it seems likely they would. But that is done now. Ash is their territory now, and the Sentinels have not lasted this long by simply surviving their territory. They dominate it.**
Maren found himself in the sentinel's guildhall, and he found that even he was a bit intimidated by the nature and feel of the shrine. He looked around for someone to tell about the bugs he killed in what he hoped was a respectful manner.
**He was met by a group of rather put out looking guild officials, as bothered by the infestation as all the other Ash residents. Karen was thanked profusely and given 20 gold.**
**Astrid entered a bit hesitantly, looking around the room for anyone who seemed even vaguely official.**

**A lot of people currently looked quite official, as several guild heads seemed to have gathered here to coordinate the Click Beetle purge. A bald man with a silver monocle seemed to be vaguely in charge at the moment, however.**
**Astrid approached a little hesitantly, looking at the man with an air of mild obsequiousness.**
Valentine - "Excuse me... am I right to presume that this is where animal hunts are coordinated?"

Man - "Hrm? Ah, well, it may as we be. Most official city outposts are a understaffed right now anyway, until this damned beetle infestation is cleared out. What can I help you with?"
Valentine - "I have heard the rumors about Old Antioch, that he has been missing, and I had hoped to seek him out."

**The man, who was definitely not a sentinel, spoke up.**
Man - "Yes, as I'm sure you saw the city is quite infested, so we're offering pay for anyone who'll help get rid of them. You might try the Ivory District; I understand that the Illuminating Manuscript is quite overrun."
Stoz dipped his upper body forward in a makeshift bow. He then took a quick nip off his flask and gave Farfel a tap with his shoe. The dog quit chewing on himself and followed Stoz out into the streets of Ash.
Not long after the man and his dog left, a round-faced kindir wrapped in a bear hide made his way in. A crimson bird perched itself on his shoulder, making a content cooing noise.
Adelmo- I'm here to offer my help finding Old Antioch.
Valentine - "You've got some company. Astrid Valentine."
**She offered her hand.**
