**The road leading into the Alogeans is long and, while it is kept safe from bandits and monsters by regular patrol, quite arduous. More than one journey has been cut short by memories of a nice warm carriage house in the lowlands as the cold mountain winds begin to cut and the road into the Alogeans continues to stretch on further and further into the imposing mountain peaks.
But for those stalwart enough to weather the winds and push forward a true prize awaits, not unlike a gleaming gem nestled within the bedrock. Before the journey can turn truly unbearable, the Mountain Pass opens up into the Mountain Pearl: Ash, ancient home to the kindir and the Guild-City. Rest well, traveler, and enjoy the comforts of Ash while you are here. The Alogeans surround you in all directions, and you will not find another pearl in among these mountain peaks.**
Burkhard, with Adahy walking slowly behind him, stood in the middle of the Mountain Pass. He looked around for any Click Beetles in the hope of making the path into the city less bug filled. If he didn't see or hear any, he cast and maintained Sarcokinetic to see if there were any animals on the pass. Either way, Burkhard grabbed his shovel and rested on it.
Burkhard - Well Adahy, after we find some beetles and take care of them, we'll go looking for some ant hills or termite mounds.
Alacritas felt a shiver crawl down his spine. A man of the plains and the seas, his temperament left him unprepared for the harsh bite of the Alogeans. He was not far from turning around when he finally broke through to the pass and found himself in the Guild City.
**Astrid, some time after her adventures in Sylvan, wandered north into Ash.**

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
