**Javier and his team of heroes moved quickly towards the mountains. Time was of the essence. His sense of duty and honor had never been higher, that is if it had ever been before. He insisted that they march single file, but only he seemed to be following that instruction. From time to time he would order everyone to stop. He produced a tired, wrinkly parchment which one could only assume was a map. Then after rolling the paper up and putting it in his pocket he would change directions.**
Javier- "Hmm..."
**On this particular instance, Javier seemed to be taking longer than usual. His eyes squinted as he mumbled himself.**
**Makeda carefully inspected the map. She'd been an accomplished tracker before she started tattooing maps of Bakara onto all of her recruits, so this was not a particular difficult puzzle for her to crack.**
**Javier told them a tale of a greedy mining company that forced its way into their encampment. The lure of money for mining the land was insatiable to the village elders. Over time, The Company, expanded. The First Mine was immediately profitable but subsequent mines were not. The Company announced that the sixth mine would be their last. On the sixth day of digging the inner wall collapsed, trapping the miners. No rescue attempt was made because the villagers feared this particular mine. The towns superstitions coupled with the mines construction over an ancient burial ground, did not help.**
Makeda - "This is a free lesson kid: 'Fresh Blood' is not a term you should ever be comfortable with an employer using. Ironic turns of phrase are among the leading causes of mercenary deaths every year."
Sum'era continued to scowl, her glowing eyes flashing in anger... She drew her sword. "I smell treachery on your breath, you would do well to further explain yourself... And quickly." She uses her ability to read truth in body language to examine the man as he reacts and speaks.
Golan acknowledged the Tenseness. However, without knowing where they were going, he couldn't storm off and try to save the miners without dealing with Javiers nuttiness. So he merely crossed his arms and grimaced slightly.
