**Arl laughs at the display, she likes seeing happy people. Granted, he's probably happy about something evil and/or crazy but.. the way we wiggeled his arms about as he ran was just so cute. The girl privately wonders if his reward is.. **

**Although Arl feels bad about being impolite, even in this situation, she considers it a good idea to let Colt handle being refreshed. She takes a cookie but does not eat it just yet.**
Arl - "Thank you." *Gives a polite bow of her own* "What are we doing though? Your servant seemed to be extremely happy about it unless that was something else."
**Lautremont gave the bowstring a pluck, apparently satisfied with the low 'twang' that issued forth.**
Lautremont - "Who, Stately? Something of a bother really."
**He let out a sigh as he pulled an arrow from the quiver lying beside him, taking a moment to gaze the shaft of the projectile.**
Lautremont - "He's one of my more...devoted servants. Though frankly they are all rather devoted. I suppose that's the sort of complaint one wants to be able to make, eh?"
Colt poured himself a glass of whatever was offered and nearly drank it, but then thought better of it. It could be poisoned. It could be the way that Lord Leautremont gets the better of his adversaries. Instead, Colt improvised.
"So, how did you manage to kill... That one?" asked Colt, pointing to the scariest looking beast in the room.

**The girl watches intently as the Lord readies his bow. Partially because she's genuinely interested in watching someone get a bow ready. She's even more interested in the arrows.**
**Colt had indicated a creature that seemed somewhere between a lion and a scorpion, its face unsettlingly human. The bow was massive, nearly as tall as Lautremont himself. The arrows seemed rather normal.**
Lautremont - "Hrm? Ah, the Scionic Manticore!"
**Lautremont smiled to himself as he slung his quiver over his shoulder.**
Lautremont - "Tricky devil, that one."
**The noble had begun carefully picking his way through the forest, the trees around him shifting but the focus of his projection sticking with him.**
**Lautremont chuckled as he raised a hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight, scanning his surroundings.**
Lautremont - "The best way to take down a manticore is to leave out poisoned food for it. They are haughty creatures; tend to tyrannize any peak they claim as their own and demand tribute of sort. They never even consider that a tribute might be less than a testament to their might. But that's no fun, obviously. Still, useful to know if a manticore ever hangs his shingle in your town."
**Arl is suddenly rather pleased with herself for not ea.. wait, what about Colt? Arl glances at the manticore, sweeping her eyes to see Colt.. not consuming stuff. Not yet, anyway. She starts breathing a sigh of relief before she catches herself.**

Lautremont - "I tracked it for a few days, learned its patterns. I knew when it would be moving from its cave to the mountain lake, so I lay in wait there. In a fair fight the most dangerous thing about a manticore is its stinger, so I put an arrow through that right away. Then it was me against the beast, man to monster. Damned thing managed to claw my breathing mask off at one point, had to fight it while holding my breath after that."
**The noble stopped suddenly, crouching low to the ground as he squinted his eyes at something. Though he had stopped, Arl and Colt could hear a faint rustling.**
**Lautremont held a finger to his lips, instructing the pair of them to remain quiet as he drew an arrow from his quiver and fitted it inside his greatbow. He drew the weapon effortlessly, holding the bow taut as he carefully took aim.**
**Arl waits as she silently wonders if he's... But messing up the shot wouldn't.. really help would it? She ponders this issue slightly too long for her choice to matter.**

**A split second later the window shattered as the arrow exploded through it, embedding itself in the wall behind them. The image of Lautremont gave the pair a smart salute and then vanished.

Lautremont - "Well said! Well said indeed! Stately, I am tickled. Simply tickled! I do believe that you have earned your reward."
**Stately's eyes shot wide open as he began to babble in glee.**
Stately - "You mean, I, that is - "
**Lautremont chuckled, cutting him off with a raised.**
Lautremont - "Yes yes; it's all very exciting. You may start now, and I will begin once I've finished greeting our guests."
**The servant let out an unintelligible shriek of excitement before bursting out of the cabin, dashing with maniac glee into the forest.**

Lautremont - "There should be some sweet lemon in the cabinet if that suits your fancy. I would offer you something stronger, but I don't partake."
**The man began to string a powerful looking bow.**
Lautremont - "Oh! And there are some iced cookies as well. I must confess a weakness for them."
