**In a stone and steel walled off corner of the arena, eight men faces off.
Mirsch, Corazon, Ulrich and Grehym stood at one end.
Arena, Lindeza, Lindura and Sacerdote stood at the other.
A gong echoes throughout the coliseum.
Lindeza and Lindura charge forward in perfect unison, Lindura in front with his spear before them, Lindeza with his swords out to either side.
Sacerdote hangs back, hefting his halberd and prefering the enemy come to him.
Arena stalks forward, slashing his sword though the air and unleashing a blast of furnace hot air and scouring sand that temporarily engulf the whole field trip group.**

**Grehym drew Llwyd with one smooth motion, taking it in a two-handed grip. He then proceeded to rush after Ulrich, immediately occupying Lindeza with a flury of overhead strikes.**
**The sandstorm gave the oscarans an advantage, allowing them to see their opponents coming more clearly before the field trippers could see them through the scouring sand and baking heat.
Lindura jabbed at Ulrich with his spear, a conical blast of force flying from its tip.
Lindeza parried the flurry or strikes with a practiced hand, locking eyes with Grehym, whose peripheral vision filled with shadows, blinding him to everything except the opponent before him.
Corazon approached Sacerdote, pulling the espada ropera from his hip. Sacerdote eyed the blade, then his own halberd, and smiled.
Mirsch moved towards Arena, pausing to reach into the ground with both hands and pulling from it a pair of short swords. Arena spat on the ground and rushed the mage, his sword weeping cinders and sand in a trail behind it.**

Ulrich did as he had always been intending, he sun to the side to avoid the spear thrust. He had not however been expecting the blast of force, which caught his shoulder and caused his spin to become more of a twirl. The kindir ended up several feet further to the side than he had intended, sword held out defensively.
**Grehym disengaged for the moment, taking a measure of Lindeza's posture. He calmly and expertly recalled the positions of everyone at the start of the fight relative to him before he lost his peripheral.**
Grehym - Would you like to know your future, oscaran?
**Lindura turned to face Ulrich, Lindeza subconciously turning his body if not his head and attention to maintain their formation.**
Lindeza - Bloody, one way or another.
**Lindeza's blades shimmered momentarily with a violet sheen.
Corazon charged, Sacerdote grinned and swiped his halberd, though well out of range...until its head detached, tethered by an impossible chain, and flew right at the guard.
Right before Arena reached Mirsch, the an ankle height wall shot up before the oscaran. Mirsch prepared to take advantage of the trip, only for Arena's feet to pass through the stone like water. Arena was on him in a second, hammering him with furious blows that Mirsch had to use both blades to adequately block.**

**Grehym broke eye contact with Lindeza, curious to the effect it would have; he focused on a point right below his chin. Wary of the violet sheen, he assumed a defensive stance with a high guard.**
Grehym - Fatalistic. I guess that is fitting, all things considered. Come, my blade would like to get more acquainted with you.
**Grehyms vision returned as he broke eye contact, and his words were answered by a a pair of dark blades slashing at his face.
Lindura responded to the charge with more force shots some at Ulrich, some at the ground before him.
Corazon tried to pull up short at the halberd blade flew at him, forced to fall to his knees into a slide to go beneath it, only for the heavy chain connecting it to smash into the side of his head with a jerk of Sacerdote's wrist.
Mirsch went with a ready stance with his blade, then jerked the tips of one of them up as Arena closed in. A midshin high wall of stone shot up before the oscaran, who smashed into it...and through it like it was nothing. Mirsch, clearly shaken, began to backpedal.**

Ulrich leapt upwards, hoping to push through the blasts hitting him and avoid the ones on the ground. He gritted his teeth and clenched his hands tightly to endure as much of the force magic as he could.
**Grehym was tensed for any movement, so as the blades sought out his flesh, the reaction was almost immediate: flowing into a two-handed deflection of the violet blades, he swiftly pivoted with his momentum, twisting his sword into a deadly arc, the blade cut through the air in a crashing wave toward Lindeza's wrists.**
**The force cones impaled the ground beneath Ulrich and slammed into his stomach and leg, the former behind stopped by the leather vest and inflicting only pain, the latter drawing blood.
Lindeza spun, moving with the deflection, swinging his wrists out of the way of the slash and bringing out his leg for a back spinning leg sweep.
Corazon fell to his side, frantically rolling out of the way as the chain rapidly withdrew, the halberd blade plowing a furrow through the earth as it returned to him through the spot where the guard had been moments before.
Arena came at Mirsch like a dervish, hacking and slashing with his blade. The earthmage tried to parry, but the oscaran's sword sliced through his stone blades as if there were not there, and each swing obscured the pair more and more in a searing dust devil.**

**Grehym reacted with a surprising quickness, recalling his brief bout with Dowen back at the Crag Colosseum. Instead of keeping his feet, and what would be a sure knockdown, the swordsman shot down into a defensive posture, using his lowered center and leg to brace for the impact of the sweep.**
Ulrich grimaced with pain as he slashed out with his sword, aiming to push aside the spear and ram shoulder first into the oscaran's chest. He'd have to deal with those wounds later.
**The spear was battered aside, and Ulrichs shoulder tackle hit. Lindura staggered back, then whipped his head forward at Ulrich's, a translucent helm of force magics forming over his head as he did so.
His sweep foiled, Lindeza forward rolled away from Grehym, behind Lindura, spinning to face Grehym again as he came to his foot and knee.
Corazon struggled to his feet as Sacerdote approached him, whirling his halberd effortlessly in one hand.

**As Doggett pounded Lindura into the ground before Ulrich, Lindeza threw down his spear, raised his hands, and lowered himself to his knees.**
Lindeza - SPARE ME AND MY BROTHER! WE SURRENDER!
**Suddenly an oscaran made of stone errupted from the ground before Lindaza, iron sword in hand, and drove the blade down into the back of Lindeza's neck. Blood erupted from his open mouth as he fell dead to the ground.
Sacerdote looked from the corpse to the sandstorm to the others, and prepared himself to fight,**
