Any current Peacekeepers who have spent credits on what were previously 'investigative' abilities for their items is automatically credited back 3 credits along side the change to the new version of the item.
And can those who spent 3 credits on what is now a 2 credit ability presumably get a credit back?
Quo is back from indefinite hiatus!!! No, really though, I will be posting this weekend most likely. I will check in on my prior things, and probably try to continue them in some form, if it's possible with the former PCs. I had a quest going on, as the story is pretty much written already it can start up again. MORE TO COME, you RP nerds
It was a direct tie-in to Sylvan's storyline, which is going to be what I'm continuing rn. Dak was on it already, and a few others, so you guys will be able to join that for sure. I'll figure out something to compensate you with, maybe extra LP or gold or whatever, maybe small items. -- Give me a few days to wrap my head around things.
Ascetic and Stalker dual-guild benefits have been tweaked. Go forth and do things with your own pets! Or don't, whatever.
The Inquisitor and Seeker benefits have been tweaked like they should have been back with the rest of the peacekeeper revamp. Whoops. Not much of a change, mostly some rewording and the purchasable stuff is a bit better now.
The Artificer benefits were changed as well! Any preexisting field inhibitors can remain but they are no longer a dual-guild benefit. We instead changed the machinists to specifically allow material substitution (within reason). Since there are plenty of weak metals (like silver), the machinist metal thing is no longer a major issue. So artificers can instead work a bit of magic into their machines... Also, weird science changed. It's not like the former benefit had ever come up ever anyway.
So, we forgot to actually replace Crystal Cultivation with Quakelord. Anyone that already had it could keep it as normal, but no one ever picked Crystal Cultivation in nEW so that's that.
QUAKELORD - Your mastery of earthen materials (dirt, stone, metal, crystal) causes them to calm and quake at your command, allowing you to perform feats that others cannot. Lvl 1. You may command the earthen materials beneath your feet to either soften or magnify your footfalls, allowing for a stealthy or intimidating approach. Lvl 2. You may cause any earthen object you alone are holding to vibrate at a specific frequency, effectively increasing its modifier by one in clashes with other materials. Lvl 3. Your sense of touch and hearing are merged together. This allows you to discern things about your environment that others would not, especially when it comes to movement or vibration. This sense allows you to tell what materials are in an area or item by tuning them with a light tap. Lvl 4. You can control the vibrations in unattended, non-magical earthen materials and any such materials created or manipulated by your spells. This allows you to treat up to 5 cubic feet of such material as a held object for the purposes of your Quakelord abilities. You may use a spell per post to instead effect up to 10 cubic feet of material. Lvl 5. You may temporarily extend your vibration ability to larger areas of earthen material in the environment, causing them to match your own personal frequency. Twice per encounter you may use this ability to phase quickly through 10 feet of solid stone or 5 feet of solid metal. When this effect ends you ejected from the material at the nearest possible exit. Lvl 6. Your ability to manipulate vibrations improves, allowing you to increase the effective modifier of earthen objects by another level and/or cause them to crack and/or explode into a cloud of dust and shrapnel on impact. Using this ability counts against your spells per post, larger items are less likely to explode. Lvl 7. You may choose one additional solid material to consider earthen for the purposes of Quakelord abilities (e.g., wood, bone or glass). Lvl 8. You may harmonize earthen objects with any others, allowing you to increase their modifier by another level and/or grant them the ability to pass through up to 3' worth of other non-magical earthen material. Items that would get stuck are shunted to the nearest available space. Using this ability counts against your spells per post. Lvl 9. The power of your spells echo into the world around you. Whenever you cast a spell you may use one of your lower-level Quakelord abilities without it counting against your spells per post. Lvl 10. You develop a custom WM-approved vibration-based technique/ability.
Apologies one and all, for my extended absence. I've had about two weeks solid of pretty much constantly filling in for people on incredible understaffed shifts, so had no energy to spare for much of anything else.
And now I'm going away to the beach for a week! Minimal posting/chatting might occur but I'll be another week before I get back to it regular. Everyone play nice and feel free to nudge-mod my characters to keep things moving.
Udo and MK, still active. (I know Udo is still around, just doesn't have anywhere to post atm)
Acelin, Acelin-level active.
Do we.. ah... have anyone else? I'd really just like ETAs*, it's fine if people are still tied up this month but hearing nothing from anyone is worrisome.
*ETA of time until next ETA, at least. Obviously people might not know exactly when they won't be busy anymore.
As you may have been able to guess by my not doing more than popping my head in, I'll probably not be continuing with things as is.
EW has always been a balance of enjoyable interactions with my characters and other characters I like and obligation to deal with characters I have little to no investment in. That balance has been off for a good while and hasn't been helped by the general stall.
I will come back in a heartbeat if I think the overall group dynamic is going to be better for me. I'll keep checking in every now and then. Wish everyone the best.
EW wouldn't feel the same without you, to me. I realize how Gato/Bane/Quo/Sen generally feel - it's just that most of my EW experience was with DAK, Maus, Trabant, Hrod, etc.
No mention of li'l ol' me? :'( Now I just feel all empty inside.
If leaving you in the etc causes you to post I may need to do that more often.
I think I rp'd more with you in the Zombie Sharpshooter days than in nEW - I'd be glad to have you back again, maybe change that? Also, the aim waters are very nice this time of year!

I actually promised myself that I won't come back. I've proven time and time again that I will completely drop EW as soon as something else requires my attention, and that simply isn't fair behavior. I'm done being a participational disappointment, and the occasional hosting disappointment
GG: I somehow missed your post. Anyway, I sent you a PM! Also feel free to check the aim as well, etc, etc. Stuff is still happening, with something particularly big scheduled for late December / early January.

EDIT: Aim didn't show me your response until now for some reason. Phone...
Anyway, I have responded in the aim with some suggestions regarding the brought up issues.
EDIT 2: Are you (Trabant and such) reading this? Are you wondering if anything happened? Please check the aim! Stuff is happening.
