Voli grins, looking quite proud. "Been great! I helped kill ghosts. With a cool gun." Then, noticing the little ball of fuzz in Arl's arms, he blinked. "What's that?" he asked her. Then, using his pendant of linguistics decided to ask the little fuzz ball if it had a name--to see if it could speak any language.
The pendant translates the Rasa's sounds into toddler babble. It is very young, after all.
Arl - It's a very young Rasa Chimera. It was wandering around outside epicrin - they have trouble surviving in the wild by themselves.
An adorable foxy-squirrely ball of fluff and love, the non-leveling Rasa Chimera is about the size of a grapefruit, nearly all of it a burst of golden brown fur. It is both squirrelly and foxy, with large delicate ears and a puppy-like face. It also has a short pink-scaled tail and tiny dragon wings that flap futilely at the air.
Voli just stared at it, completely overtaken by the sheer cuteness of it. Since he was a young boy, he tried to resist it and play nonchalant. His eyes were wide, however. "Well, whacha gonna do with it? I mean, does it need someone to look after it? Cuz it's not like I'm busy or anything, yanno?" Well, shoot, there went his nonchalance!
Herschell, with his gang of thieves gone, wondered if he made the right choice, or if his greed got the best of him again.
He also wondered if he was ever going to sell this dang Chisel. It had sweet magic powers, but no one wanted to make an offer for it. It even still had a tag from the raffle explaining that it summoned wacky earth creatures.
Epic World! Because seriously! It's the awesome!

Voli grinned and held the squirmy little bundle of fur with some effort. It was more wiggly than he thought it would be. He glanced up at Jeb to see what he thought of all this.
Jebidiah wandered over to Herschel's wares. "What kind of things might you have that a 14 year old boy might find fun and teach him about taking care of things?"
Shaken out of his reverie and slightly surprised, Herschell stuttered slightly.
"Uhh, Mage dag - no, don't give weapons to minors. We have enough of those. Cleric thingy? That does nothing, the boy clearly isn't a cleric. Oh! *ahem* Why, kind sir, I have this excellently crafted Chisel. Hear me out! It may appear to be an ordinary Craft tool, but when the user has knowledge of both Earth and Beastial magics, the Chisel can summon wondrous creatures .... Which need to be taken care of!"

Voli, already having caught part of the merchant's pitch, wandered over to Jeb with his eyes once again wide with want. "It can summon stuff?" Though Voli had a preference for magics that allowed him to play with electricity, he found magic in general to be fun. Summoning would be new but was something he found himself excited to try. "How much!" he barked, not fluent in haggling. Hence Jeb held onto his money.
Herschell, his attention split, looked to the child. "Two hundred gold. But since you've been such a good boy, I'll sell it to you for 150!"
Then he turned to Jeb, for an adult conversation.
"Yes, I do actually. Well, not I personally, I have an associate who is a bit of an adventurer smith. He makes the pieces he feels compelled to make, and I find a market for them. I find it a healthy challenge. What is it you want made? Certainly I can tear him away from his pet projects for a moment or two to do a commission."

After a chuckle, "Of course. Go take your item and I'll pay the man for you." He pulled out 150 from Voli's gold and paid Herschel. He then continued his conversation as he handed Voli the item, "Well I have and idea for a gift for my young friend. I would need a mage friendly material, with an imbue that we would provide. It would need to a custom shape. What kind of cost would that be?"
Voli happily grabbed the chisel, put it away quickly, then returned to playing with the Rasa in his hands. He then went about making small talk with Arl.
Arl happily made small talk with Voli when a hand holding a bag of gold reaches out from between to particularly heavyset people. It drops the gold before Arl and points at the glove. Noticing that the pouch contains a ton of gold, Arl decides to just hand the strange hand the glove. The hand sinks back within the heavyset people.
Arl then tells Voli she needs to speak to Herschell, and then does just that.
Arl - Could I buy that belt for 140 gold?
At this same time Eizen walks back in to clarify some info when he notices Herschell might finally have enough gold to buy that dagger he wanted. He pulls it out and places it on the table giving Herschell a knowing look.
Herschell's head explodes as he contemplates the cost of this unique item.
Then he sells Arl the Lionheart Belt for 140 Gold.
Then he buys Eizens Chameleon Imbue, Ruby Imbue Jade Guard Dagger for 160 Gold.
EDIT: Herschell continues contemplating the cost of this unique item.
"Well, my friend is not skilled at enchanting, and although I'm interested in the study I'm not a practitioner as yet, so we'd still have to pay for a professional to do it. Meanwhile, the materials to be Mage-friendly are not as cheap as you might think, given how he guild hands out Daggers like candy... I'm going to quote you 200 Gold since you say you have the crystal, but I won't be held to that."

Eizen pays back the 6 gold he owes Herschell before engaging Arl in some smalltalk that leads to him buying her remaining glove. Eizen then clarifies what needed to be clarified with Herschell and leaves. After he does, Arl hands more gold over to Herschell.

Cee - Hold on. Jeb and Voli are way better caretakers than we would be. We're hunting dangerous bounties all the time!
Arl - But I..
Cee - It's better for the Chimera.
It also means Cee wouldn't have to hunt for food for the little thing.
