**Further past Epicrin on the Great Road, the Western Plains open up to a vast, nearly untamed stretch of wilderness. So for weary travelers with business further into Western Bakara, there are few more welcome sights than the familiar shape of the King of Adventure's faded sign.
Originally intended as a fortified resupply stop for trade caravans along the Great Road, the King of Adventure is a clearly built to withstand everything from a tornado to a kindirin wake. There is a large stable where tired carriage houses can rest, as well one of the only working bathhouses west of Epicrin. Inside, the coach house is brightly lit, usually filled to the brim and always noisy. There is even a small outpost of the Peacekeeper's Society for bounties that lie outside the official jurisdiction of any major city. The food is good, the beer is better, and there's usually some merchant with work that needs done: the only three things any true adventurer needs.
Over the years, the King of Adventure has turned into a hub for Bakara's wandering populous. At any given time heroes and mercenaries of any sort can be found filling the common rooms and bathhouse, from Sylvan nobles elbow to elbow with jabbering greel at the bar to boisterous dwarves and solemn kindir sharing a steam. Here, adventurers and adventurees of all stripes come to find one another.**

20 Gold - The Lion's Share - Made from a little bit of everything and strong enough to turn hair gray, The Lion's Share somehow manages to be smooth and fine-tasting even as it pounds you straight into the dirt. The imbiber loots first after his or her next quest (unless the imbiber is a bard composing a spellsong). (Based on and discounted for Grehym Lyonbeth.)
Feyrus walks into the inn with a look of relief on his face. He finds a table near the fire and sits down looking at a dirty mug sitting on the table he says "Oh I'm sorry were you here first? Well I could do with some company!" Smiling at the mug he takes out a long stemmed pipe and begins puffing away contentedly.
Feyrus frowned "Well it was nice meeting you! Was it something I said?" He shrugged, and in doing so accidentally dropped some of the hot embers from his pipe onto his other hand. He waved the burnt hand around wildly oh-ing and ah-ing "Dagnabbit George you're always bumping me at just the wrong times you mischievous little fiend!!"
A short, but tall for his race, Saaur wondered up to the peacekeeper outpost. With a sly smile he said "I would like to pursue the level 4 bounty you have available." CT said

**The peacekeeper, a rather serious looking man behind a very orderly desk tucked a stall in one of the corners of the house, nodded. He leafed through some papers, scanning the information as he twisted his mustache thoughtfully.**
Peacekeeper - "Belius. Real piece of work. He'd been taking jobs out of Elexia for the last few months, guarding caravans, protecting merchants, that sort of thing. Everyone who hired him always seemed to have the worst luck, though. And I do mean always. Every one of his employers within the last six months were robbed within two weeks of his contract with them ending."

Peacekeeper - "Yes, usually right before their next expedition. And the robbers always seemed to have inside knowledge of their marks' security and schedules. Needless to say, we started to become suspicious."
**The peacekeeper rolled out a map with a small trade route between Sylvan and a few smaller villages.**
Peacekeeper - "To test the theory, we set up something of a sting operation. Belius is currently guarding a dummy caravan that we've filled with bards and our own operatives. All of the 'cargo' has been fitted with magical sensors, designed to let us know if anyone matching Belius's aura tampers with it. Or suspicions were correct."
**The Peacekeeper stabbed his finger into a small clearing on the map, a few miles south of the King.**
Peacekeeper - "Our operatives don't yet know that Belius is in fact guilty to minimize the chances of his catching on. Your duty will be to meet the caravan at this spot, pretending to be travelers. You will be invited to share their campfire, and at that point you will use the phrase 'My mother always hated these damned drafty nights.' Our operatives will then strike when the moment is ready. But be warned. We have no doubts that Belius's accomplices are keeping an eye on the caravan. I do not doubt that there will be quite the dust-up."

Peacekeeper - "We've given very specific instructions on where they are to stop for the night; if you leave soon you should react tonight's campground an hour or so after they do."

After a spell of sitting and puffing, Feyrus gets up and shambles over to the message board. He smiled and tapped the board with the tip of his pipe. The old man walked slowly up to the bar and sits down and continued to puff on his pipe looking for someone who looked like a Mireille. When he saw a likely target he smiled brightly. "I hear you're putting together a search party." He was clearly attempting and failing to be discrete.
**Mireille, as he found out sooner or later, was the Fenette bartender. She glanced at the man, taking a moment to blow a strange of silver hair out from in front of her face.**
Feyrus looked at her with a slightly confused look on his face. "Who?" He said looking around suspiciously. "Well now that you mention it, you say you're putting together a search party? I just so happen to have some free time!" He smiled brightly at her.
