**Seeing the dagger fly, Lucian dashed across the room to retrieve it, grabbing it but finding himself a little far from the action.**

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
I know, but his vision is slightly blurry from the sickness, not as bad as twilight.
**Deathcloak roared and swung for Gamble, the blow not stopped by Golan but slowed by dragging him along as to be easily avoidable. The roar cut abruptly into grunts as he began to tremor slightly.**

Morgan grimaced in pain as she pulled herself into a sitting position. She spared a little of the numbing body magics she was using to keep herself from screaming on Deathcloak's right foot. With everything else that was happening to the man, hopefully the loss of sensation would be enough to unbalance him a little.
Golan maintained a death grip on deathcloaks arm, and tried to get his leg behind deathcloaks leg to trip him. It probably looked like a puppy trying to wrestle a bear to the ground.
Epic World! Because seriously! It's the awesome!

**Seeing his chance materialize before him, Lucian rushed in as swiftly as he could from behind Deathcloak, bringing the earth dagger down in a hard stab in his back.**

**Golan could not throw Deathcloak, but he did manage to restrict him enough to allow Lucian to drive the knife into his back. Deathcloak staggered to one knee, a garbled, sputtering, disgusting noise coming from his helm.**

**Seeing Deathcloak's obvious... discomfort... Lucian drew back the blade and rammed it in again, near the base of his neck.**

**Gamble's heart began to slow and his face softened a touch. Deathcloak had been a terrifying boogeyman, a seemingly unstoppable monster that killed at will. This, though. This was a dead man. A dead man who had been willing to do anything for what he needed to see done. Gamble had seen too many men like that in his life.
Gamble took off his hat, crouching down a little.**
Gamble - "Dea...Slayd. I promise you that I'll see Gaul properly buried. None of this mass grave crap. And...we'll put you next to him."
**Deathcloak tried to respond, but it was unintelligible. He reached out at Gamble, but wasn't able to do so for more than a second before he hand to put his hand back down to hold himself up, his armor now dripping blood, vomit, and possibly spinal fluid.**

Morgan watched as the blade sunk into Slayd over and over, that combined with her wounded shoulder caused her to lose her lunch over the floor of the forge. Somehow the reality of bounty hunting wasn't quite as palatable as the fantasy of it.
As Deathcloak went to his knees, Golan stood up. Shaking with fear and anger and relief that their plan had worked, Golan stepped back to watch Lucian stab Deathcloak for the last time.
For a few seconds, Golan forgot the past. He forgot that he had made it his mission to kill this murderer, because he had been too slow to stop him before. He forgot that this man killed a helpless Peacekeeper in front of his eyes just day(s?) ago. He forgot all that and saw a man desperately in need of help, and took pity on him.
As Gamble offered him the bloody Mage Dagger, it all came flooding back, and so did his rage. He accepted the dagger.
Golan pushed Slayd over with his foot. Then, kneeling next to Slayds head, he used both hands to jam the dagger into Slayds temple.
"Our plan worked, Gamble. But we thought it was a plan for Justice. All along, it was a plan for Mercy."

**Slayd/Deathcloak went still, his noises ceasing, the hand grasping Golan's robe going limp. In the hallway, there was the rumble of stones raining to the ground as the will directing the golems vanished into the aether.**
