Ciaran looked towards one of the open windows and his raven flew in, perching on his left hand. They were looking each other while Ciaran mumbled the details given by the kindirin woman. The raven flew outside again as soon as Ciaran was finished. Ciaran then exited the tea house.
The barista was half way through her first word before her gaze caught something behind Snake. She gave the orochi a look and wandered off. Immediately afterward Snake felt a finger tap at his shoulder.
The man behind him was familiar to Snake, though where and when they may have met eluded him. The thief could swear he had seen the man hundreds of times before, perhaps in his peripheral vision, or as a face in the crowd, but never before in personal conversation. "I am afraid we are sold out of the atarin tea at the moment, but we do value our steadfast patrons. Could I interest you in traditional Kurrian spiced tea? Complimentary, of course."
"Perhaps you would like to join us in our gentleman's lounge? It is normally quite exclusive, but it is the least we can offer after failing to meet your expectations."
Laelaps - I'm in need of something to drink and my friend here would appreciate a bowl of water, we came from Epicrin because we heard that there were a couple of issues that needed solving.
Laelaps handed the Atarin some coins and took his tea and Streep's water to a table. The boy and the coatl sat down to drink their beverages. Laelaps tried his best to pay attention to anything interesting he heard around the room.
Every time Juris tried to focus on something that sounded interesting he found himself only able to hear the old couple talking about their dock working days or the servers at the bar. It was almost as if the interesting conversation were somehow slippery, or someone was pushing him away from them.
Laelaps entered the tea house once again. He ordered the same tea he had had before and another bowl of water for Streep.
Laelaps - We'll just have to wait in Elexia for the person Lady Cateri mentioned, or else I'll never find out where or how to contact any in the guild.
Kindir- I've got you marked down for two chips. Anything else you need?
Ciaran slowly rose from his chair, smiled at the kindir, bowing gently at her, then headed towards the exit.
Ciaran: "See you soon!"
Ciaran: "I'm spending my chips."
Ciaran took a seat next to her.
Ciaran: "I'd like to learn more about grifting and sneaking."
Snake - "I'd like an atarin tea."
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.

Snake - "And I had my heart set on it, I suppose i could be persuaded... A shame though spiced tea is better taken with company and I've come alone."

Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Atarin Teaman- What can I get you?
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
The atarin had already sorted out the bowl and was in the process of pouring out a rich golden coloured tea.
Laelaps handed the Atarin some coins and took his tea and Streep's water to a table. The boy and the coatl sat down to drink their beverages. Laelaps tried his best to pay attention to anything interesting he heard around the room.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Laelaps continued to drink his tea and waited for Streep to let him know if he was also having difficulty hearing things.
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Laelaps - That place was weird, I think we should stop by again before we leave the city.
